So what you're saying, is to add more weight. I agree, I haven't gotten to use them much but having the rifles be a burden to carry in a team would help get rid of riflemen putting CQC sights on a .50 Cal rifle.

The way the units hold weapons in A3 is... well how do I put this. too modern? They hold it tight to their body, and hip fire is not there. Is it just me or do troops now hold their weapons differently now then they did back in WWII?

What would the uniforms of apparel look like? What weapons would they use? What Vehicles would they use? Would IEDs and other ambush tactics change or stay the same as current ones in 2013? Why would there be an insurgency in 2035? Would they just be basic Guerrillas like in Chernarus or Taliban like foes, like in Afghanistan? Discuss.

The normal combat soldier on an extended patrol weighs about 350lbs. He's carrying around 170lbs and is walking for about 36 hours or so. It is highly unlikely that any woman that has even thought of joining the military could do that. Then we also have to question. Would a women of about 5'5"-5'6" be able to carry out a man of about 275lbs(including gear) and more than just a few meters. Though I think women should be in ARMA 3 as there is no reason to not have them in there. They just need to do it right. I think it should be taken into effect if a women in ARMA 3 was to carry a substantial amount of weight for a long time.

It's the scale or segmented part on the back part of the neck that bugs me and that the helmets look ridiculous with the "goggles?" or HUD screens coming from them They also have a SAW looking LMG which was a shocker when I saw it was in the hands of an Iranian. I feel like the Iranians just jumped ahead of NATO in all aspects of military force. everything looks a decade ahead of Blufor

I was surfing the web just studying random things. Then, something popped into my mind. How much bigger is an American/NATO Soldier compared to an Iranian or Asian counterpart? I could probably research more about this but I just want you guys to discuss. I enjoy the discussions! I big problem with customization would be the disadvantages of being tall. People would exploit it. I can see regiments or clans forcing all their members to be as small as possible so they could hide better. I for one would make it look just like me. I'd end up being 6'4" and 270lbs of muscle... I'd look so out of place and I'd end up getting topped by snipers all the times If we could just put the acual users physic or stature into the game then we'd be golden.

In response to what difficulty I play on. I play on veterans if I'm by myself. But I'm always on a server. I've noticed my buddies around be drop like flies, I go grab them(even if they're in the open) and patch them up. I play Medic primarily. if I'm on an MSO server I go by myself and take out outpost and such by myself. I like to think I'm really good at ARMA but I'm no the one who decides that. -

Especially if the Iranians have some of the equipment they have a A3, it'd be more of a surprise if any country with a decent military doesn;t have a stealth fighter by 2035, but then also Radar would evolve too. -

I don't know what you're talking about brother. It seems like AI is shit in terms of everything. I've not gotten a single challenge by them yet. I've never been killed by an AI. I've only been shot at my AI maybe.... twice? I just want faster acting AI that does look at me and then turn away or something. -
As long as it doesn't change balance issues then there is no reason to not have them. This is a game after all, we don't have nearly as many restrictions as RL. One thing I'm not looking forward is the players who play female in all games. So I'd end up with a majority of my force being women, which would ruin immersion for me. If we wanted full realism. Well. Mods guys.... mods...

One idea for a mod that'd be awesome. imagine a go-pro cam in the helmet. Then you could view the footage after. It would allow for great videos of ARMA to be made. ARMAFunker XD -
If they could just Mocap deaths while moving, and maybe a bit more back support, if you're holding your weapon forward and leaning into it like trained. if you were shot you would fall forwards, my experiences in game. They just fall straight down. Now with movements. if someone is shot while sprinting, they should face plant(lol imagine) you get the idea. certain animations+phys= a good feeling when you drop some poor bastard. And in cases where explosives hit people. They wouldn't fly away. well. not them as a whole. They'd be a red mist and bits falling all around you, and things like that. mines, and grenades don't rip them bit by bit but they would dismember someone or just spray fragmentation which would result in being pushed back a little. I just want a better MEDEVAC system where if someone is so injured and theirs no medic then they can get picked up and treated in the helo so they don't die. But that's too realistic for some chaps.

Now, this will be racist in some peoples eyes. But I'm missing shooting Arabs in Turbans wielding AKs and trying to blow up everything I own. I much prefer being blown up by an IED rather than a KA-60. I've never liked fighting against an organized military. I want people yelling at me Allah u-Ackbar!! As they set off a bomb. I want to try and control crowds of routy citizens while making sure that there isn't a Taliban in the mob. I want to search caves, and houses for caches. I want to be ambushed by things that can't lock on to me. But alas, I'll be told "GO DO IT YOURSELF AND MOD" Well I can't and I certainly can't put the time into learning. I'll leave the ACE to modding a beautiful mod. AND I shall wait patiently. -

A suggestion for personalization, your option on how you walk.

It was an idea that just popped into my mind. I told it to my friends and they thought it was a great idea. Now it's nothing major, nothing that would ruin immersion, for a matter of fact it would IMPROVE immersion. Now currently all players walk with the left arm swinging(if it is a at ease walk) but I feel, with every person walking like that. It's like a march rather than a saunter, leisurely walk. In the Player Profile, you get to Choose the voice, and pitch along with the face. Now add the walk, maybe 5-10 different styles now. With people being different it makes you feel more like a person rather than a player. It's a minor thing to add but would make a major change. -

OP I'm right there with you. Yes everyone it's not a "sci-fi" experience but the Iranian Armored car... it makes me cringe. the fact that they have weapons that don't exist. I just feel out of touch. It's becoming too futuristic. Not Sci-Fi, but it's like a mix of the wide scale of ARMA with a dumbed down version of Ghost Recon future soldier. It's always with the damn Hexagons. They ruin it for me. XD -
So, I've been thinking about this idea for the last few days. The idea is that what if someone setup an ARMA campaign thing that's like the Total war games where you command the armies and when you fight you go into the battle and fight it yourself. This Idea would have to involve A LOT of dedication on both the Creators and the clients part. This would need most of the squads, regiments, armies etc. This would take place on a few choices of Campaign Maps(Europe, Middle East, Asia, Whole world) depends on how many people and how much dedication. The money: I have been working on how that would fair. I was thinking of marking certain areas with special things such as boost for Banks/Economy, Oil, Large Airfield, Large Harbor, and factories. Each area would maybe get different stats to it. The better the stats the better the assets you have available at your next battle. Turns: I can setup a raffle thing or the Regiment leaders PM with a # and the closest one gets the first and the second closest is 2nd and so on. Map: The map size and # of regions would depend on what people want and the # of regiments that joins. People would have to download mods and things to be able to play some maps and make it so the immersion is at a maximum. I would come out with announcements for what is needed for the battle in-mind. (I suggest using SIX updater because it will keep us on track and together)P.S post a map of what you want may it be custom or pre-made doesn't matter as long as it works with everything. Assets: These are things like Tanks, IFVs, Rotary-winged, and Fixed-wing, Naval ships and other support things like Arty and maybe Top of the line Soldiers like Delta, MVD, SEALs, Revolutionary Guards, Airborne or things of that nature. This would all depend on what you hold and what is in your Military at the time. Certain places would allow certain things all depends on the industry. Movement/Attack: I was thinking this would be like Supremacy 1914 like where it shows whats moving and where they're moving. If you have stealth units or SpecOps then they won't be showed on the map. When you meet a Garrison, Militia, Army, or whatever a battle will be scheduled and when the battle takes place the victor will either hold or take the province. Military: Depending on the amount of squads or regiments that are in the Army, or anything smaller will be taken note on the battlefield and if one side outnumbers the other then the larger army will have more troops once the battle takes place. The same goes for assets. I will easily be able to design a quick map and put it into action to fit the situation. Leaders: This is a tricky part. I was thinking that whatever regiment leaders there are for a country or faction will vote in a sort of moot style thing. A leader can not vote for them self in the election. The winner will take charge of the country, or faction until a set date when a reelection is called. If something happens then a reelection or second in command will take over for the leader. Battlefield: A large PvP will be best on the map that fits the location of the battle. Teams will have to secure points that will benefit the team during the battle. Defender always gets a bonus(Extra defenses, Airfield, Port, etc.) All depends on what they pick and how much they have. If I've missed anything tell me and I'll edit this post. Give suggestions! and please spread the word, if this works the ARMA community will grow and the winning regiments will have massive bragging rights.
