It definitely won't be in vanilla, this has been firmly established since 2011. The point of matter for discussion is how much will the devs facilitate the modding process and what type of realistic wound simulation features do people want in Arma 3.
-
He confirmed it won't be in vanilla.
-
Pettka already told PurePassion at GDC 2011 that dismemberment should be possible in Arma 3, so even at that early stage of development the devs were well aware that realistic wound simulation is a popular topic in the Arma community. Hopefully the poll results will encourage the dev's to provide modders with all the essential elements necessary to easily create a realistic wound mod similar to the VBS2 wound system.
-
I agree! Get him a bodybag.
-
The poll results indicate that the figure is actually higher than 75%. 532 people have so far voted in favor of dismemberment v's 48 against. Can you provide any evidence that is in dispute with the poll results? or are you just making a baseless assumption.

The ocean looks immaculate.
-
That is a good idea.

The moderators have left this thread open for the community to discuss accurate representation of weapon systems effects on the body so please quit pestering the discussion with petty annoyances. Your inability to make a decision renders your comments here purposeless.
-
I think that only applies for the precision settings, as can be seen in some of the videos I posted 0.9 skill level still allows for lengthy firefights.
-
Well the poll results support your point, over 75% of the Arma community is in favour of full gore. In business terms I think gore is a feature BIS should take into deep consideration because most customers clearly want it.

Yes you are right mate the AI was reacting to the gunshot. I always presumed that my AI were reacting to the bullets sonic signature but after thoroughly testing this again yesterday with silenced weapons I found that the AI would only react if rounds were impacting nearby them. In terms of consistancy I feel that .9 is slightly better than 1. but I wouldn't recommend going any lower than .9
-
Then why do the AI take cover when they are being shot at from a distance by silenced weapons? Edit: Ah nevermind, I tested this out, they are reacting to nearby bullet impacts.

The Blufor AI changed position to get a clear shot at the Opfor AI which had moved position. ---------- Post added at 04:05 ---------- Previous post was at 04:03 ---------- Your wrong, I'll make a video to show you.
-
That would be senseless because then it would have been facing the wrong direction when in the prone position.
-
The AI couldn't go prone in that particular position as it would have resulted in a clipping problem with the wall. I agree it would be ideal if the AI duck-walked to change position rather than stand up and expose itself to direct fire.
-
This gore system would be ideal. iUSuBqilLBQ&feature=related

This is how the AI react under fire if you are using the correct settings. GYgM5ZRRSbg&context=C45387feADvjVQa1PpcFODIfYh5xtQeNWMxX7Jna6wRmFovYP-R3g=

Crowdsourced Hardcore Tactical Shooter
Whirly replied to Nutlink's topic in OFFTOPIC - Games & Gaming
I hope BIS consider developing a hardcore CQB tactical shooter. -
Tom1 if your so certain the AI aren't affected by suppression fire then can you explain why the Opfor AI don't return fire upon the Blufor AI in the video I posted. I'm not attempting a vain quest to persuade people that the AI is perfect, my intention is to explain that a little fine-tuning can drastically improve AI performance. If people want to get the very best qualities out of the AI in Arma 3 then they need to know the optimal settings.
-
This is a critical fault that should be avoided at all costs because it will cause a negative effect on AI behaviour. I haven't found this to be the case and I have been playing Arma for years. If you use the correct settings the AI makes great use of suppressive fire. C4_QxF3lFwg

Something important I think people often fail to consider is that the AI is unaware of how many enemy AI could be on the map and in which direction they could appear from, hence from a human players perspective AI actions that may appear totally irrational are in actual fact totally logical. I think communication between the AI is very impressive, I'm posting 2 AI gameplay videos that prove AI squads use teamwork. oHfwwWoR0Cc&feature=context&context=C480899aADvjVQa1PpcFODIfYh5xtQeNWMxX7Jna6wRmFovYP-R3g= nRucF-5j3nA&feature=context&context=C480899aADvjVQa1PpcFODIfYh5xtQeNWMxX7Jna6wRmFovYP-R3g=

Dang nevermind.

BIS wouldn't spout off about the alpha if were closed, some people here should use a bit of common sense before posting unconstructive comments.
