    Missions for a newbie

Thanks, I will try the 'Trial By Fire' mission and then 'Harvest Red' campaign.
  3. Hi, I just finished all the tutorial missions of Combined Operations and I would to know what should I play first ? Which are the most suitable missions for a newbie (original missions or users made missions) Thanks
  4. PvPscene, thank you for helping. I know but these hints sometime disappear so fast and I miss some of the text. Is it possible to 'Pause' the game to be able to read the whole text ? I will try that this evening.
  5. I am playing the Team Tutorial of Operation Arrowhead and when I order team number 2 to enter the vehicle and drive to the depot in the north (on the red circle that appears on the map) to pick up Rodriguez, he drives there, stops and then...nothing appends. There is no further instructions in the tutorial. So I though that maybe the tutorial is scripted so number 2 automatically pick up Rodriguez when he reaches the depot and I give him the order to come back in formation but when he is back Rodriguez is not with him. I am stuck and cannot do the rest of team tutorial. Am I missing something? I have 'Combined Operations' installed (Arma 2 installed first and then OA in the same directory). If I buy the British Armed Forces addon, should I install it in the same directory where Combined Operation is installed ? Thanks.
  6. No Use For A Name, Thank you very much
  7. Hello, I purchased Arma 2: Combined Operations today from Sprocket and I am right now downloading both files. I see that Operation Arrohead is OA_setup_1_59.exe and Arma 2 is Arma2_110_setup.exe. There is a patch named "ARMA 2: Combined Operations / Operation Arrowhead / Reinforcements Patch 1.60" from 26.12.2011 (http://www.arma2.com/index.php?Itemid=20&option=com_rokdownloads&view=folder〈=en ) Do I need to patch with patch 1.60 to be fully updated once both games are installed and integrated ( Arma 2 installed first and then Operation Arrowhead in the same directory as Arma 2) or are both downloaded games already updated and so the combined games ? Thanks. ---------- Post added at 02:59 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:55 PM ---------- Hi vilas, It seems that you posted in the wrong thread ;)
  8. Hi folgore_airborne, thank you very much for answering. About the integration of 'Arma 2' and 'Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead' in the "Arma 2: Combined Operations" bundle, what I wanted to understand is if the technical and graphical improvements (or some of them) introduced in 'Operation Arrowhead' are present in 'Arma 2' once 'Operation Arrowhead' is installed into the same directory as 'Arma 2'. In other words, does 'Arma 2' look graphically or feel or play different once 'Operation Arrowhead' is installed in the directory of 'Arma 2' than when it is played without 'Operation Arrowhead' being installed in the same directory ? Thanks for helping
  9. Hello, I have downloaded the demo of Arma 2 , I like it but I have some questions to help me decide if to get the game or not. Before I downloaded the demo I have read several reviews of Arma 2 which I believe were written when the game was first published and most of them praise the multiplayer part of the game but are less enthusiastic about the single player campaign. Some report a "infuriatingly buggy single-player campaign" , "bugs sometimes make it impossible and frustrating to complete a mission", " bugs that can screw an entire level, forcing you to restart from scratch". I do not play multiplayer games and if I decide to purchase Arma 2 it will be only to play the single player missions, so I am a bit worried. Are all these complains about these bugs a myth, and if not, have they already been addressed and fixed with patches ? I am not looking for a game completely free of bugs/ minor bugs if in spite these bugs I find the game playable and enjoyable ( I am playing "Combat Mission: Battle for Normandy" which after several patches still have some bugs but which according to me do not interfere with the gameplay at all) Are there good users or third party single missions and campaigns? How do 'Arma 2' and 'Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead' integrate in "Arma 2: Combined Operations" ? I guess that "Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead" has some improvements over the original Arma 2, but are they or some of them present in the original 'Arma 2' in the installed "Arma 2: Combined Operations" bundle ? Thanks
