  1. Wierd... http://soldiersystems.net/2010/10/07/m24e1-is-now-the-xm2010/ I figured it would have gone the other way around...
  2. Nope, It's been in full service for a year or two now. This photo of a 25th Infantry Div solider with a XM2010 (which as sabre mentioned is now the M24E1) is from back in 2012: https://www.flickr.com/photos/soldiersmediacenter/6875166557/ It was approved for full fielding back in early 2011: http://www.armytimes.com/article/20110425/NEWS/104250311/Army-s-XM2010-sniper-rifle-gets-full-fielding From memory the original idea was to drop the original M24 internals into a new stock and rechamber to .300 win mag but I think they ended up just buying a whole new rifle rather than putting all the work into retrofitting. You may have been thinking of the SOCOM PSR (Precision Sniper Rifle) competition that was run a little while back which ended up being awarded to the Remington MSR (Which is a commercial off the shelf version of the XM2010 with some minor adjustments and the ability to quickly change calibers) over the Sako TRG M10.
  3. How do you think DayZ is being made? a lot of the assets like weapons and items are being outsourced to freelancer 3D artists.

    RH M4/M16 pack

Yeah, I've only seen it in videos 2-3 out of the many, many videos out there and all but once it was on a standalone mount rather than a rifle. Then again, it is 20 years from now, I guess it's possible it could have reached active units by then.

It's okay, he's in the US, just cover it up as an april fools joke >_>
  7. IIRC they're based on the aircrafts battery. However they can be connected to an external battery which wouldn't require the aircraft to be generating power.
  8. What other paintjobs? the MH-47 is only used by the 160th SOAR which use a matte black livery. There's also no offensive weapons, only miniguns (and some which are fitted with rear 240's) and flares. The only time a XH-47 airframe was used in an offensive role was back in vietnam, so there's no purpose to a reloading menu either.

To add to that, for any extended period of time (expended longer than a day) generally you'll see them deployed with vehicles, even light ones. There's some firefights involving MARSOC where you can see each guy may only have half a dozen mags on their vest and a grenade or two but in the background you can see 4/6 wheel ATV's (which can fit inside a chinook and be dropped with them) loaded to the brim with gear, hell you can even find donkeys being used to haul ammo: http://i.minus.com/jQOHUgxOHh6yV.jpg Same as with the Australian SASR, you typically don't see them with much gear on in afghanistan but there's usually a Bushmaster (MRAP) or a LRPV (6 wheel landrover) nearby. http://i5.minus.com/jKD3pVFCgUcMZ.jpg (Note the orange explosive stickers everywhere to note ammunition) In Mark Donaldson's autobiography he mentions for a afternoon joint operation (for which was short enough for the SASR to walk from their FOB into the AO) between the SASR, US Army SF and ANA the US SF filled every extra space in their vehicle with either water or ammo to the point the Australian's thought it was rediculious to be taking so much on a 12h operation.

the current XSAPI plates (they come in a tan colour) are made of silicon carbide and backed with kevlar (as are AR500 ballistic plates) to stop spalling and protect against both 7.62x54R and 30-06 M2 AP steel core (level IV), which unless you want a half inch steel plate and about twice the weight of an equivalent XSAPI plate you're not going to get the same level of protection from AR500.

Look for SURPAT uniforms (I think the spetznaz units use it), or use "This adduniform "U_SUD_RU_DIGI_UNIFORM02";" in the unit's init.

    ArmA 2 C-130J and MV-22 Redux

As to quote a small Mexican child: ¿por qué no los dos? While the bouncy ground movement is a problem I personally think the performance (both FPS and flying wise) is a better trade in, perhaps either include both and let the player choose or choose one and continue working out bugs on the PlaneX version (As I assume this is for the foreseeable future where as Airplane isn't). On the note of FPS are we talking like 1-2 frames or 5-10? and maneuverability is there a dramatic difference? (IMO the biggest problem the V-22 had in A2 was yaw which is why I'm more interested in performance.)

Canada is still using the T-10 and the creator and his group are Canadian... see the connection here? Also you could always have it represent the MC-6: http://jbsanctuary.files.wordpress.com/2009/07/mc6.jpg

Israel and Japan have placed a few on order, I assume like many of their aircraft Israel will probably have theirs done up in a desert camo and Japan I assume would use the same camo as their other helicopters. Apparently a fair few other counties have expressed interest too such as the UAE, Canada, Qatar, Italy, Singapore and Australia. Though I assume pretty much all of them would use one of the fifty thousand shades of grey and just change the roundel so perhaps a generic grey version would be easiest (Or just post a PSD with the layout so people can make their own). Well, to be fair, they were designed for use by SOCOM so it's not like they couldn't get them if they wanted but the Mk23 is likely a little impractical due to it's size, weight and mag capacity, plus if you're down to using a side arm you're probably going to lean for more bullets over diameter of said bullet. My understanding (i.e from photos, contracts and interviews) is the US Army Special Forces switched from their venerable M1911's about 10-15 years ago to the higher capacity and more reliable (Not to say the M1911 is unreliable but regular maintenance and a fair bit of work needs to be done to them to make them useable) Glock's, I suppose if you train on a system and have it set up how you like then there's no reason to change once you go to a new unit. In one recent photo of an ACE operator (What their official name is now according to their phone number at least...) in Afghanistan showed him carrying a customised Glock too. The reasoning for their use from my understanding is they're cheaper, easier to service (less parts), lighter, reliable, have a higher mag capacity (17 9mm rounds over the 1911's 8 and Mk23's 12) and don't need to have a lot of work done to them, one SF guy said he used it "because it was free, it works and they're like the AK of pistols". Plus now that the USP is around the Mk23 is pretty much obsolete...
