  1. So, I played my first Asia memory mission last night. The first one, where you just fly the brass to the patrol area. By the time I realized how high they wanted me to fly, I wasn't going to get the altitude in time and the mission was a failure. It then dropped me back to the present. That's it? I don't get to reload and try again? I have to start from the beginning of that mission? I would think that when I failed it would take me back to the latest auto-save. Is this incorrect? Mick
  2. I've been wondering how one would look beneath the helicopter to properly position over something. In the game, is this just eye-balling it and experience? I thought that the bottom part of the front of the cockpit was usually clear so pilots could see downwards. Granted, I am not using a TrackIR but the hat switch, but when I "look down" what I usually see is Larkin's groin. Not terribly helpful. Mick

    Frequent crashing

This solution worked for me, thank you everyone. One thing I noted, in the video settings tutorial, was the reference to a GTX 4xx series card with 4Gb of memory. I can't find such a beast anywhere :) Mick
  4. Hi, folks. I've been working through the training missions, but the game keeps crashing to a black screen. Audio continues to play, but the display is black. I'm running Windows 7 Professional x32 with an Nvidia GTX285 running the latest drivers. I ran through the video settings tutorial in the forum, made sure my view distance was around 7000 and set most things to Normal. Nothing really useful in the event logs, only that the nvidia display driver stopped responding and then recovered. Not sure what the problem might be or even where to look for more details or the proper way to report it. Any thoughts? Mick
  5. Greetings folks. I am trying to play TOH with a Saitek Cyborg 3D USB Gold and something seems amiss... for starters, when I choose that profile within the game, it thinks the joystick has 12 buttons. It has 10. Also, while flying the first training missing, I tried using the hat switch to look around. I am certain using the hat turned some automatic function off because as soon as I looked left the helicopter started slewing all over the sky. Lastly, the mappings seem off. The tutorial talks about using the mouse wheel to bring up the action menu and then button 2 to select. Button 2 did not select anything. Yet, I knew it was button 2 because I went back to the control mappings, chose a random control and pushed button 2 and it registered button 2 being pressed. Any ideas? Should I select a generic joystick and just reprogram the buttons or am I missing something fundamental? The controls stretch off the side of the window so I can't see all the mappings to see what buttons are mapped to what. Are these stored in a text file someplace? I'd like to be able to use the hat to look around. Hard to land if I can't look down :) Mick
