The Reality of Arma 2 Mission Editing For Noobs
PostalDude replied to PostalDude's topic in OFFTOPIC
lol nope just a few minutes after spending 9 hours fiddlin around, but I figure a few brews and takin a deep breath of fresh nicotine filled air can't hurt hehe How's it hangin over there man -
when playing the CTI on Takistan I like to get Jonny Rebel's "Infidel Anthem" in the background hilarious while rollin into battle in a humvee hehe

Ok so I'm on my days off, loungin' about, recovering from a few wobbley pops from the Friday night before and always, when I decide to edit a multiplayer mission... That's right. Some uncharted territory for the noob. So I load up my brand spankin new Unsung Mod 2.5 which kicks *** and fire up the mission editor with the clear goal of makin a mission you spent every hour of the past work week day dreaming about, complete with some objectives, a custom base complete with a customized stoner bunker to chill to some tunes and drink a few beers between waiting for your buddies and that lovely huey to respawn to go back out into the jungle. THIS IS GUNNA BE AWESOME!!!! you tell yourself. Then you get down to business. Painstakingly fiddling with sand bags to get the positioned juuussst right along the hootches, fiddling with the dart boards and beer cases and smokes in the stoner bunker to be perfectly leveled, all the while fliping in and out of game to internet pages telling you how to adjust hieghts by an inch, make a respawn setup in the description ext, etc etc etc. place some guys, set some funny markers, make a beer run to get ready for a good VC slaying seeion with your buddies, load up the game, they're all in and then BAM!!!!!!! ARMA 2 decides to stop stringing you along and tells you it hates you... Everything about you. It's a horrible feeling, kinda like getting dumped by a fat girl. It's a rollar coaster of ups and downs being an Armaholic, and like any relationship it sadly takes effort and all that crap. So just saying, noob to another noob, or noob to experienced arma veteran about to eat my soul for this post, this is all part of the joy of arma, learning, bettering yourself, and coming back to it better and better. this is what arma is all about, continuosly learning something new, and that's what makes this game so great. Hope yall have a good weekend.

Call up G Lucas and tell him to pull a Clone army out of his fat arse hehhehee seriously, tactical airstrikes on known silos, followed by airstrikes on airports/defences, then CAS for the ground units there. followed by unfortunatly a multiyear guerrila mountain warfare campaign... assuming a carrier battle group or 2 heads there while Kim Jong"lildick"Un is still toying with the idea of war for CAS. Oh, and hope to god my armchair general instincts are somewhat in line wioth the minds of actually military vets/ servicemen.... or god help us alll thank yall for saving my military reject arse :D

As of right now, a 2-4 of bud light lime(by now ya'll know I'm canadian). It's cheap, except for the fact the govt jacked up beer by 2 bucks a 12. anyway, it goes down easy, ya can drink box after box and no vomiting. plus when the ladies are around the chug a lug... sometimes more than a lug and ya gotta run and get more hehe everyone like it ya cant go wrong, great party drink. as for my personal fav, Erdinger Weisbrau.... or something like that, it German, its great, and even better when cold. goes right to your head hehehe

Thanks so much for all the hard work to give the community this mod :D Ive been playing it for about an hour and a half since 4 am(here in Canada) unfortunatly I gotta go to work soon... Gotta say I'm really impressed with the AI improvement and the suppression module. Even on recruit it made for an intense instant action firefight :D Again thank you guys so much -

LOL Pray to Santa? How would that go? Probably something like "Oh Santa, heavenly lord of Western consumerism and fourth quarter revenue, please grant a miracle and allow me to destroy virtual Peleliu before 2013 rolls around... oh and stop taking my cookies and milk you fat red turd!...Amen" haha -

Hey I know it's a little early to be thinkin about future add ons, what with the the Beta still awaiting release, but I got a cool idea for a map. What if you guys did a map based on the invasion of Japan that never happen, Operation Downfall. I tried my hand at it, got all the programs but like so many newbies couldn't figure out step one. I was thinkin maybe the Operation Olympic portion would have been the easiest to do, that attack on southern Kyushu. Problem I guess would be trying to find WW2 era images of the area to make it all up. But going off of google maps based on terrain alone it looks like it could make a pretty fun and intense battleground. But like I said, a little too early, kinda far fetched and probably a huge pain in the rear. But just thought I'd throw that one out there -

I dunno about you guys but personally I've know for months already what the first thing I'm gonna do when this mod comes out. I'm going staright to Mission editor and going to spend a day just looking at all the new weapons and troops, vehicles, objects etc, then just wander around the island checkin out all the awesome new stuff. Then, maybe if a day is enough, Ill set up some firefights hehe Lookin forward to this one for sure :D -

Agreed! Lookin slick. Y'know, never realized the Japanese had such a collection to aircraft, or that the makers of some sweet lookin cars and kick*** outdoor vehicles used to produce warplanes for Tojo.
