May 2022 update Six years has been past since there was a last update here. We’ve been through many things - ups and downs, misfortunes – but as being written here, we are still going strong, never ceasing and getting the Job done. The years brought its changes, mainly in terms of people, but the essence on what 16AA is built on is the same since of the Unit beginning. At this moment 16AA is made of 2 infantry platoons and Support detachments that includes: Fire Support Group 13 Air Assault Support Regiment 16 Close Support Medical Regiment 216 Para Signals Joint Fire Support Team Joint Helicopter Command Pathfinders Operation Ten Minutes till Midnight Our previous campaing was set on deployment to Republic of Korea 38th parallel in a joint NATO effort to stop an imminent attack from Democratic Republic of Korea armed forces. This deployment pitted us in a conventional warfare against a fanatical enemy. With being an air assault unit our focus was more striking enemy vital rear area infrastructure and weak points. We had various degree of successes and the finale ended with a “blast”. Currently we are at our Home Rotation phase where we prepare for the up and coming campaing Operation Golden Fleece set in Mediterranean setting with a conventional war in a confused setting.
