Hang in there, sorry for your loss.

Hi mate Try this: Go to: program files -> bohemia in.. -> arma 2 -> dta from here get bin.pbo, copy it to other folder. Use "cpbo -e bin.pbo" after this unwrap the config.bin, and create seperate files for root classes. Then delete the config.bin from the bin folder. After this copy all this stuff to p:\bin. Go in visitor and set buldozer path to: program files -> bohemia.. -> arma 2 -> arma2.exe I had this problem before, where one map crashed and other didnt, after doing that both worked. It's strange but dont know why.. Remember to take backups before you do this.

try saturation / hue setting. Image -> Adjustments -> Hue / Saturation

It's not yet released, i got a copy of it from a friend. (Aramis) No Satellite images aint the problem, you can easily make exteremely detailed and good satellite maps, best approach is to download 20res map from google and then heavily modify it in ps. With good machine is doable. Compareing 10m map vs 1m is like night and day. If you throw in realistic and varied terrain the difference is HUGE! I have done lot of testing and i have no performance issues with sandy bridge i5 2500k OC:d with maximum detail arma 2 can produce and max map size it can handle (not sure about your build or the maps you have tested). Sure, slow machines wount handle this at all, but i'm not creating this for slow machines. My conclusion is that with 1m dem data, arma maps look incredible, absolutely incredible. I will make some screenshots later on from my projects and you will see just how big the difference is. ---------- Post added at 10:18 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:15 AM ---------- Also, i think those micro terrains are 5m res, not sure tho.

Hello The current limit is 4096 for map size, would it be possible for BIS to scale this up to 8000. I have this program that can create ultra realistic maps and it has the option of 8000+. I would like to create a map with 0.5m height data, but it seems impossible currently. Best i have gotten is 4kmx4km map with 1m resolution. It looks pretty nice, but there are possibilities to go further. Surely, you would need a nasa computer to run these things, but we must remember that there are some users that might have a very powerful pc. Why not give us the option to create incredible maps? I might be misinformed about the subject, but this is just a suggestion. Anyone else have any opinions about this?

Finally i got my map to show! After so much hard work!! Now comes the hard part smoothing the terrain, roads etc.. so thats like 100 problems more, but here are 4 screenshots, clutter aint working yet and lot of other things missing. First time seeing it: 308 kb image removed In map screen you can see my heavily modified satmap, it used to be island near arctic, but i changed it to desert: 872 kb image removed Shot from air: 300 kb image removed Another shot from air: 322 kb image removed Let's hope it turns out nicely. I give up, spent 2 weeks creating the map and it simply does not work on my system. In buldozer it looks awesom, but cannot load it into game. No config errors etc.. It appears the whole P:\ drive is the main issue here (according to microsoft i have a version of win 7 that has problems with the command subst p:), and there are some bugs related to this command currently. There is NO detailed and up to date tutorials from BIS. We have loads of tutorials from users that contradict each other, so you dont know what information to trust. This has been the worst modding experience i had in the last 9 years, and a first one that i did not finish. I hope BIS makes this easier in the future, maybe release visitor 4 with arma 3. I really respect those that have the patience to create maps for arma.

I will start over a new project and go through everything in detail. If it does not work i make a new thread with more detailed information. -

nope didnt work, still crashes. yes there is layers folder, also the file that is missing ingame, is there in the folder. ---------- Post added at 06:02 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:55 PM ---------- Hmm.. i sometimes get this, and i think it might be the problem. It's a windows window. Windows 7, does not like this p: drive. Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. ---------- Post added at 06:04 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:02 PM ---------- btw, i have changed the base layer of the textures from 5m to 20m, could this affect end result? -

Cannot load material file: bunt\cayron\data\layers\p_000-000_l00.rvmat I just cannot figure this one out, i changed the paths for the rvmats like this: bunt\cayron\Data\bunt_hlina_nopx.paa -

nah it's not a typo, i just got so upset while i was getting errors after errors that when i made a new project i actually used that word... :( (i edited it away from the post ofc, but missed that line). Kinda akward.... but i'm a honest man so could not lie about it. ---------- Post added at 04:40 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:34 PM ---------- Alright.. I made the changes, but still the BinPBO crashes when doing the p3ds, it still packs the stuff, but i get windows error from the crash. I see if the warning went out in game. Thank you for your help, mate. ---------- Post added at 04:44 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:40 PM ---------- Ok, now we have a new error: No entry 'bin\config.bin/CfgWorlds/cayron/Clutter/Subdivision.model' Also OA crashes if i try to load the map and gives this error: ---------- Post added at 04:53 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:44 PM ---------- ok i removed the subdivison part from the config, that fixed it. BUT now we have a new problem, when i enter the map in OA, i see the map, but it gives this error: Cannot load material file: bunt\cayron\data\layers\p_000-000_l00.rvmat When i import the map, it creates the layers and when i open buldozer it converts em. The map seems ok in buldozer, but do i need to do something with the rvmats? I changed the 2 paths in each, but didnt do anything else to them. -

Hello I have this warning when i load my map. 'clutterGrid/' is not a class ('model' accessed) Anyone know what the problem is? Thanks Random EDIT: Also, the game crashes when i try to load the map. Here is my config.cpp: Here is my cfgClutter.hpp Here is my cfgSurfaces.hpp Please someone help, been trying to get this to work for a week. When i try to pack this file with binpbo or what ever the software is, it returns no errors, but crashes while binarizing p3ds. If someone could help i would be very happy. Thank you. I will probably reinstall arma and see what happens. -
