  5. No need to blame anyone! Sounds like a fair trade off and I probably would have done the same. It is actually a pretty heavy vehicle anyways, so it'd look silly doing jumps over small hills. We'll just have to plan on staying to roads as much as possible (but that's fairly realistic - you don't typically run your convoy or trucks off road too much).
  6. It goes into an Item slot when you pick one up in ACE in game. If it could be added into the Items list as well, that'd be great.
  7. Basically a Rover Termainal allows ground forces to tap into the video from a UAV, Sniper Pod, and the Lightning Pods. This allows JTACs the ability to see what the pilot/gunner are seeing through their pod, and they can easily walk them onto target since they share the same view. They can also highlight things on screen and do some other things. For the sake of the game though, I think he is just looking for a way for the JTAC to look at what the pilot is actually targeting. Basically just duplicate the camera view for a guy on the ground. I'm not sure how that would work with multiple aircraft up though.
  8. I know the Ridgeback is heavy with the armor and cage it has, but it seems to be pretty slow when offroad. Like we're talking no faster than 18 and under 7 when trying to turn. Are they really affected by terrain that drastically in real life?

    Another little peak into the reworked textures that will be coming. Trying to take some of that new paint look away! VectorX96 and I are working on bringing out the details on the frame and giving it a more worn look. For now the only visible changes are under the cockpit. It's still a little rough but we wanted to show you guys where we are hopefully headed with some of this.
  10. I'm with you in having the same issue. Myself and several guys I play with get some odd audio levels when using ACRE. My game volume is almost all the way down just to be able to hear the radios. I know some guys in our unit run game sound through speakers and then ACRE through their headset to avoid this issue. It's always just been a balancing act. We probably just like to turn the game up too loud anyways!

    It comes from ARMA. Your typical "winter" months have shorter periods of daylight, and thermals don't work as well as the warmer months (ambient temperature would be down so objects wouldn't be holding as much heat as they do in the summer). Like BlackMamb said - fire up any map in the editor and change the date around. You'll notice there are even full moon cycles implemented.

  14. They'll run fine separate like Six Updater has them. If you use it to launch as well, you don't have to worry about launching with addons in the proper order.

    Awesome work mate. This is beautiful and a great first release. Definitely going to be using this for some coop play. Good size for multiplayer and runs smooth!
  16. Apologies for digging this out of the grave, but I'm having the exact same issue and can't seem to get it resolved. I can ping the server with any packet size. I've allowed all necessary things through the firewall, even disabling it completely (Domain, Private, and Public) just to test. I've setup the ICMPv4 replies. If I enter the IP under Remote, it works fine. But in the default server browser I'm showing 2500. :eek: We recently moved a server off to a separate box and now the ping is whack. Server is running ARMA 2 v1.11.86734.
  17. He's saying you could install the Sprocket app and install ARMA onto the dedicated server. WINE is a program that allows a lot of different Windows applications to operate in the Linux environment. You wouldn't actually run the server through it, but this would at least allow you to get the source files onto the server.
  18. Correct. The clafghan.pbo is the only updated file. If you've previously had the map, no need to download all the other files as well.

  21. There's the SpiritedMachine launcher you could try. You can organize your mods and such through folders, and easily enable/disable certain mods. Or, even better, is Six Updater. It can manage (download, update, etc) most of your addons, and you can easily arrange everything into presets. Then, you just hit launch game and it takes care of the rest.
  22. Until the updated version comes out with working grids, you can run the map grids from ASR Appendix and you'll have full 8 digit grids. Run it on your server and artillery will work.
