Arma 3 System Information Thread I have made a quick form where you can fill out your system information and this will be recorded onto an excel sheet which is publicly view-able, the reason for this is to help us understand what specs everyone has and to help the developers see what the average specifications for a "Dedicated" ArmA fan has, which is most of us on the forums. The Giant Alpha Media Thread The general idea is instead of having everyone creating new threads for every cool screenshot or video they make, they post it here so guys post all the screenshots and videos of the Alpha in here, post anything from in game screenshots to memes as long as its related to the Arma 3 Alpha in someway. Its also a good place to find images and videos, Obviously I expect this thread to really rocket up past March 5th 2013. I will post a few images I have found

Buying it from Bis Store will give me most the money, Steam only takes money from them if you buy it directly. Yet if you buy it via Bis Store they can send you the game directly via steam.

Just a quick questions, I haven't found anyone ask this. Will the Beta follow on straight after the Alpha? Or will the Alpha be only for a few weeks and then we will have to wait a month or two for the Beta? Also how long is the Alpha? And will the full game follow straight after the Beta? Thanks.

So, does that mean if I buy the Alpha version for £20 my Alpha will update to Beta? Im only asking because antoineflemming says different.

I am pretty sure there will be at least one helicopter in the Alpha.

To be honest as a Gamemode developer I would love to see some Base gamemodes such as CTI and Insurgency which is OpenSource and allows people to build on them aswell as MSO. No offense to the DayZ community, but I don't want to see Arma 3 DayZ anytime soon. DayZ is fun and a good gamemode but I don't want all the scripty kiddies with there hacks. As for mods I want to see ACE and ACRE.

Supporters edition. I really want to support such a great team. BI have made a good choice, they will find a lot more players will buy the supporters editions because they are not being forced to pay a high price for Arma 3. Yet because its optional people are more likely to do it. Good guy BIS, Doing marketing right.

Steam allows you to install on any Drive. You can also move games from drives using a third party tool, works flawlessly. Im not sure when you last used Steam, this was a bug fixed in 2009, what you may of saw was your game updating or possibly verifying or installing new content. I don't understand why you wouldn't want to update your games automatically? Anyway you can turn this off it was fixed last year. Steam overlay can be turned off, it virtually uses no ram anyway. Steam Acheivments are optional you don't have to take notice of them, its not intrusive. Valve have never watched anyone in the ways you mention read there EULA. Steam does not "Montor" you unless you interact with Steam Community and it will only monitor your in game scripts / hacks if VAC is enabled which it isnt on Arma 3, Steam does not take up any bandwidth in games, Steam does not use much CPU in game, Steam does not use RAM, Also your RAM cannot spy on you. BIS does not gain money from using Steam, infact Steam takes a % of profits, the only thing Steam does is promote and give developers tools to help them. I have been playing Arma since the first game. I have used Steam since 2006, its completley fine. Nothing to worry about
