  1. I hated the tutorial and didn't feel much wiser after playing it. It put me off buying Arma 2 for a long time. I would be interested to hear the opinion of other people who came to the Arma2 tutorial without having played an Arma game before (I had played OpF, but that's another thing). With a game as complex as Arma2 a better way to teach would be a more structured approach which starts by explaining the grand concepts like the Action menu and Command menus. You won't appreciate if you've played Arma1 how much assumed information there was. Even the Map menu structure is not simple and intuitive. Just my opinion. But in my opinion if you point newbies to the tutorial you could end up driving them away from Arma2 altogether!!!

    Thanks. I played around with all of them in the editor and noted the attachment differences. It seems a little random as to whether a rifle carries a flashlight or laser pointer, but I understand the scope differences. [ANSWERED]

    I'm afraid I'm not well versed enough to look at bullet drop over distance and be able to differentiate between different scope zeroing and potentially different velocities. I'll have a look at them and try and work out what the differences are bearing in mind it's probably just a factor of scope/attachments.

    Which have NADs (hee hee that's British for testicles) or Flashlights in particular? Maybe deciphering the naming would help me: Holo: Holographic Sight obv. EGLM: Grenade launcher obv. TWS: Thermal Sight obv. CQC: Close Quarters Combat, but what does that get you in gameplay terms? Flashlight? SD: Supressor. Does this affect ballistics? CCO: ? RCO: aka ACOG? Mk4CQ/T: ? Sniper: Does that mean just a different sight, or does the long barrel do something? Thanks.
  8. Is there a way to "spot" people manually? Occasionally it seems I can see someone but my character hasn't spotted him and I would like to manually call it out. I used to use the Q menu to spot people in Battlefield 2 all the time. As a follow-up related question: Is there away to point to a location in first person and mark that location on the map for a team mate?
  9. Is there an easy way to tell which players are in a vehicle with you? If not, is there a mod which adds the information to the HUD?
  10. I am looking for an explanation for what the differences are in gameplay terms between the different Mk16 and Mk17 variants. Does anyone have a link to such a document, or the time to explain them to me? Thanks.
