Really? This is the best CAS aircraft you can come up with? That greenfor has to fly around in a small converted trainer I can understand, but your basically going to give the same fly of an aircraft to CSAT? What, SU25 or 34 too mainstream?
-
Like ACE2 did it. Much like they should look at ACE2 for every single aspect of their game.
-
Yep, anything that doesn't have a full rifle caliber is pretty much a popgun.

The ARMA 3 Community Analysis, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
Hartmann replied to phlux1's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
Buy game, wait for ACE to actually make it worthwhile. Shame BIS still can't make games that the community doesn't need to salvage on their behalf. -
AH-64D Apache Longbow for ArmA2 by Nodunit and Franze
Hartmann replied to franze's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Dunno if this is weird to ask, but is there any chances to see it in Arma 3? Could I just install it as a mod there or does it need to be specially modified for that? EDIT: Ah, just found the answer a few pages back. Cool. -
Will we ever see weapon resting and bipod deployment?
Hartmann replied to Dead3ye's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
They said they still 'might' do it. Until then enjoy having to lie down every single time you want to kill someone beyond 150 meters when using an AR. -
There should be multiple jets in the release version
Hartmann replied to Marioshata's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Don't try and justify the lack of planes because those would've somehow been 'phased out' by that time. One it's an absurd notion, and two you know very well that it has absolutely nothing to do with the actual reason. -
Oh, it's one of those replies. Can't say anything bad about the game, because that's an insult straight aimed straight at the devs right? Grow up. You don't think it's amusing that the L159 is the only aircraft there is? That the game is releasing with extremely minimal content? That this time it's completely up to the modding community to create any kind of content whatoever to make this playable? That people are posting on the forum because they simply cannot believe that this is actually all we're getting? This whole thing is a big joke, least you can do is laugh through the tears.

‘Simulation fever’ - No bipods without weapon resting?
Hartmann replied to Mirudes's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Weapon resting and bipods are a complete gamechanger, I don't know what you're smoking when you say that 'it doesn't matter all that much'. -
Ridiculous accuracy and absurd ease of long range shots needs to be fixed. As long as you know the distance of a target you can hit it with pin point accuracy every single time, this shouldn't happen. Wind influence and loss of accuracy over range depending on the weapon used needs to be a factor. ACE already showed us in Arma 2 that this makes both for more realism and better gameplay.
-
Together with bipods and resting? One can dream...
-
Yeah the nightvision could really use a little touching up, especially now that we're getting all sorts of visual goodies with 3d scopes and whatnot. Nightvision shouldn't be left behind.
-
ACE was so good in this regard. There was actually a fear of being wounded there, which in many gamemodes meant playing considerably more carefull due to the effort involved in fully fixing up wounds. Right now you're either dead or completely fine, and dead just means hit respawn and you're back in action. It basically removes an entire segment of gameplay from the game when you have no real middle ground between dead and alive.

That quote is also quite ambiguous and illogical but alright. "This is how suppression should be done, and that is why I think suppression shouldn't be done" I think the general conclusion of the tread is the opposite.
-
I don't see why you wouldn't be able to be suppressed in CQC, or by your teammates for that matter. They're all still bullets, and I can't imagine it's comfortable to have rounds crack several centimeters over your head regardless of the direction they're coming from. Don't overcomplicate it.

elaboration about how to improve effects
Hartmann replied to NordKindchen's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
So much yes. I honestly can't imagine this not being on some to do list, it's an absolute crime to use the current effects when this amazing stuff is already there for Arma 2. -
Arma 2 suppression was kinda frustrating, I do believe there should be some mechanic that encourages keeping your head down when fired at though.
-
Is it me or are these forums quiet for an Alpha release?
Hartmann replied to Jex's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
Most of the important stuff has been discussed, there's some small issues yet but we're mostly waiting for BIS to do their thing with current feedback. -
Compilation of issues I've found or read about intensively.
Hartmann replied to Fap's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
It's still funny to see people mistaking awful design for something that's 'unique' to Arma and should be kept. It's just bad design, stop trying to defend it. It's not realistic, it's not good gameplay, it's just stupid and doesn't belong in any game. This has nothing to do with CoD or BF or MLP adventure. -
[Video comparison] Bullet impacts on human targets
Hartmann replied to Tulx's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Do bullets actually have the force to noticeably 'push' a body? Or is this just about looking cool. -
Elitist arrogant and misinformed opinion. What exactly do you suppose 'we' do about 'CoD players' playing Arma?... Call them names until they uninstall? What on earth do you mean that we got to 'fight' them?
-
They said they were going to improve the rain effects already.
-
Didn't they say they intend to have armour/helmets/gear have an effect on incoming bullets but that it's not implemented yet? Does this mean it's at least partially implemented?
-
Ask ACE for permission to use their RPG mechanics. There, perfect balance and realism.
