if read allot of comment both positive and negative about the comanche, i'd like to put this out there. -yes this is the origional comanche that was designed in 1991. the first prototype flew in 1996. -No the comanche was never build to replace the apache gunship. -no the comanche is not a gunship. it is a recon/attack helicopter. the apache is a tank hunter, 2 different things. -yes the comanche project got canceld, mainly becouse the usaf had budget cuts and stopped all their orders. so fear not all you apache fans. im sure BI will keep it. maybe even a cool upgraded version. its the future afterall

simple fact is we dont know. those screenshots arent proof that the US will use those f2000's maybe those happend to be the first guns they finished or wanted to show ? same goes for the vehicles and other units. also i'm not sure why BIS went with the comanche. its old canceled and it wasnt supossed to replace the apache in the real world. its a stealth recon chopper ment to replace the kiowa warrior. so even if in the BIS universe the project didnt get canceled its still not a primairy gunship/tankhunter. id much rather see them design a followup for the apache. or perhaps some kind of cobra/apache hybrid. only reason they brought in the comanche is becouse they know people think its futuristic and it 'looks cool' wich troubles me about the intent of BIS with their new designs

i dont mind beeing able to choose how my character looks. however i do mind them putting in wacky options. like wearing a funny hat or other stupid stuff to make the codcrew happy. they should stick with the general design each faction has for its infantry but make you able to change what type of vest you're wearing and if you want those extra ammopauches or not. dont allow people to choose their own camo/colors/looks just give them the option to swap stuff out and it should work fine. -
what arma helicopters need is the collective pitch. this allows the pilot to change the pitch angle of the rotor blades. this allows for a greater form of control aswell as the ability to do such things as barrel rolls at low altitudes etc

just keep the voice's in their native tongue and make the text in english. problem solved -
the ammount of women in any fighting force is low enough as it is. the chance they look 'hot' is even smaller

*facepalm* if the game would have good sounds in the first place then whe wouldnt need to keep downloading different mods for different shit. what your suggesting is that BI can just slack on the sound becouse the modders will fix everything anyway.. let the modders make cool new stuff to add to the game instead of fix stuff that shouldnt be broken in the first place

this thread is almost getting as idiotic as the "we want samesex lovestories in the new mass effect game' cmon guys is it really any difference to the experience if the other soldiers see you're a woman or a man ? no.. why is this such a big issue ? the ammount of women in the militairy is so low even for that alone they dont need to be in the game. the only reason why people want female soldiers in the game becouse they want to look like a 'sexy-cool-combatchick' isnt all the futuristic crap 'cool' enough ? if we keep pushing it on these stupid points the next arma game will be even closer to the modernwarfare/battlefield/shit type of game. if it in or not doesnt rly matter to me. il stick with a guy soldier anyway. just getting sick of having this useless topic on the top of the forums constantly. shouldnt we be worrying about all the bugs and stuff that was wrong in arma 2 ? taking the time to design female models/textures/animations/voiceacting is taking time away from fixing bugs adding new stuff and improving animations

we all know every player would love to see its own nation's militairy force in arma. i think bohemia should have made an expansion pack a long time ago introducing units from multiple nations and army's since they figured whe would rather use hired guns (mercs) they made the private militia expension. yes i know the community makes allot of great mods. but in terms of modeling theres only so much you can change to the infantry units. (unlike the vehicles dear lord so many great looking vehicles have been made) now wouldnt it be a great first expansion for arma 3 to add perhaps 1 island and about 5 to 10 nations from around the world. im thinking japan or china france finland the IDF (we alrdy got the merkava anyway :D) germany the netherlands canada africa zweden australia 1 giant pack with units vehicles and aircrafts. no need for any singleplayer content or missions the arma crowd has proven capable of that on its own. and what makes it more interresting is that its set in the near future thus bohemia would really have to research all the nations armys and fit it in their universe.

dont rly care either way. i do know that 90% of all women in any army arent on the frontline. i dont see the need why that suddenly would change. becouse "newsflash" female soldiers arent the pretty barbies doll girls you want them to be. dont get fooled by most of the pictures online. a hot girl in gear isnt a soldier.

michael bay. ..and then an explosion here and then the tank comes crushing into the building wich makes a giant fireball burning everything in its path at that point a nuke gets dropped ontop of this building right when 20 helicopters attempted to suicide crash onto the main character inside the building. main character crawls away under the rubble in the end to kiss megan fox who then blows up and transforms into a giant godzilla who starts shooting lazerbeams out of her ears destroying the world... the end -
hehe, 1 fatal flaw in the apache in arma 2. it has 2 engines (specially placed to be able to keep running if 1 dies out) and the engine ingame can be shutdown by a 50cal round.

calling arma an alternative reality is kinda far fetched. in terms of equipment be it used or unused in real life is still true to our reality. giving certain country's and factions different names doesnt make it very alternative aswell. coming to my point. sure its the near future. but the comanche is designed from the ground up to replace the kiowa warrior as a stealth recon helicopter. its like building a replacement tank for the bradley and instead slap guns on it and replace the abrams with this new tank. Arma has always stayed true to the real world vehicles (as far as possible) dont think we need to have the comanche as main gunship just becouse it looks cool. why would we use an old prototype over a helicopter combat veteran that works just fine ?

no, arma is a game about warfare. not zombie's. its not worth the time and effort that can be spend on the improvement of the actual game. take Read Dead Redemption for example, that game was awsome. however the replay vallue is low. you'd figure if they make an expansion they would stick with the awsome western action. but nooo they have to make some kind of stupid zombie mode. zombie gametypes are overdone and boring.
