Guess you never heard of the RPG Codex ?And, you got the right feeling, as you're right on top of it actually. It wasn't just the camera perspective & gameplay, but the writing and that whole Fallout feel and atmosphere was lost on Bethesda. They really didn't grasp what made Fallout so good and seemed to try and make some KOOL post apoc world for ppl to wander around in. Best way to look at it is a spin off, not a real Fallout game. Throw some hardcore type mods on there (avoid talking to anybody or paying attention to the childish writing) and just treat it like some post apoc survival game.

Idk, i agree with him. CGI sucks for horror. Maybe for these superhero movies or whatnot it's ok, but i'll take some good old Tom Savini fx in my horror movies ANY DAY over CGI.

Thanks for that info on the mods, that's the site I've been on actually. We were able to play some co-op together through tunngle, but I was getting some lag here and there. I tried turning all the graphics down to med, removing all the shadows, the affinity thing, so it only uses one core, but that didn't seem to work either. My specs are - processor amd athlon II X2 3.0ghz and 5 gigs ddr3 ram and a gtx 450 1gig video card. Any suggestions ?

I am having problems getting a stable framerate on my machine it seems that when i turn at a high rate of speed the framerate will drop down to the 20's or 30's causing many difficulties trying to play. My specs are as follows processor amd athlon II X2 3.0ghz and 5 gigs ddr3 ram and a gtx 450 1gig video card. I have my view distance on 870's and everything else on low any ideas?

I got this guy in another forum telling me that Raven Shield is a product of Ubisoft and not Red Storm Entertainment. The wiki lists both as developers - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Clancy%27s_Rainbow_Six_3:_Raven_Shield I always tell ppl that once UBI started making the games, instead of Red Storm Entertainment, the series went down the tubes. So what's the truth about Raven Shield and the whole series, in terms of the developers ? Was Raven Shield co-developed ? I find it hard to believe that UBIsuck had anything to do with this excellent game.

I never said that it legitimizes it. It shouldn't be like THAT. It should be done realistically. But to not even be able to lie down in a military game is crap.

That's just the developers fault for implementing it wrong, where it can get abused like that. After you dive down there should be a slight delay, to gather yourself, say. And of course you shouldn't be able to dive down a whole staircase, or from big drops like in that vid. :j:

I didn't like that mechanic of marking the enemy, or whatever it's called, in BFBC2. When you can press something and an icon appears over the enemy so everyone on your team can recognize him and where he is. Is that gonna be in B3 also ?

I'm more looking forward to Red Orchestra 2 than this. It's gonna be filled with kiddies, just like COD too.

Idk, in my eyes, Raven Shield kicks the crap out of any of those R6 Vegas games. That whole going into 3rd person view, when in cover mode, totally kills it for me. Your hiding behind a wall or whatever, but still able to see everything out there ? Gimmie a break ! If they wanted a cover mode, they should of just done it like Red Orchestra 2 is doing it. No 3rd person nonsense.

I thought UBI put an end to that RS 2.0 mod also. Anyone got a link for the download ?

Damn, i thought the release of Cold War Assault might be and end to my fps problems, but it's still doing it. On a positive note, i installed the free version of Arma2 and it actually runs pretty smooth ! Looks like i might be better off getting Arma2 combined Ops and playing the new OFP mod through that game ! Who would of thought..

Good, maybe i'll actually be able to play it. Edit : Crap, the read me that came with the demo says II. REQUIREMENTS ARMA 2: Combined Operations (ARMA 2 + Operation Arrowhead) v1.55 is required to use the mod. The system requirements for CWR² are identical to those of ARMA 2. I thought they might have redone the original OFP and make it work better with modern systems. Damn, i got excited there for a minute.

First off it's UBI, who was responsible for taking the Rainbow and Ghost Recon games away from that direction in the first place, and has never made a good tactical shooter. (Red Storm Entertainment were the devs responsible for the good R6 and GR games) And the article says "there is a brand new cover system that takes you out of the first-person perspective and into the third." How is that brand new ? That's what Vegas had and it was bs. It lets you see everything and survey the battlefield, while still being protected (which is nonsense for a supposed semi-realistic/tactical game) If they want a cover mode, they should do it Red Orchestra style. No going to a 3rd person view crap. Fast foward to 3:15

I tried all those settings and the framerate still drops like crazy and stutters when turning. How do i shut off the post processing, btw ?

Btw, my fps was going into single digits (only when i would turn fast though) And we did install the ww2 mod, but i wasn't trying to play that. I really don't want to give up on this game cause i loved it when playing Elite on the Xbox for a bit, and i can't run Arma 2 either.
