Change this :- class CfgFunctions { #include "VAS\cfgfunctions.hpp" }; #include "VVS\menu.h" class CfgFunctions { #include "VVS\Functions.h" }; into this class CfgFunctions { #include "VAS\cfgfunctions.hpp" #include "VVS\Functions.h" }; #include "VVS\menu.h" That could be the issue or one of the issues ;) -
Hi Derk. Thanks for answering. No I don't use any Network management software :( I have BT Infinity connection @ 75Mb down and 20Mb up. I use Zonealarm Firewall with Windows Firewall off I have forwarded the ports in the Router. as follows... UDP 2300-2305 UDP 8766 UDP 27016 I also disabled Zonealarm when testing. The steam web page that displays if a server is running at the specified IP says that a server is running. It just wont show up nor can you connect to it via remote ip. I can connect via LAN within arma3s browser but others cannot connect to it for testing purposes. This is on this computer and on my other computer at this location. Very annoying.

That does not work. I haven't been able to host a mission since the swap from Gamespy to Steam. But I do use remote to play on our community server as its quicker than waiting 20mins for the Steam browser.

There is the other side of the coin as well Egg m8. We set up our server to allow anyone at first but also to have some mods used if people wanted. We had a lot of new people join 99% of them either moaned about no 3rd or shift click or some other crutch they need to play or as most did they simply griefed the mission by blowing stuff up at base or shooting other friendly players. We now run with signatures on and addon dependency added to the running missions. Now we only get people joining who want to join and they can enjoy the mission without the worry of well... dickheads spoiling it for them, They still don't get 3rd though we have Skyrim or Tomb Raider for that :) -

was my initial thought as well So i guess the answer is yes to our initial thought ;) On topic : I do think the actual number of mods decreases your pcs performance when playing arma, even if the decrease is the read write speed of your drives or the amount of memory used. the effects might be minimal but using less mods would be better then using more mods. in my opinion :)

Don't keys work for you Eggbeast m8 ? For us we just place the keys of only the mods we want used on the server in the keys folder with signatures on and job done. Admittedly this means Joe P. can't join with his favorite sound mod but he also can't join with his mod which might break the mission. By the way using 3rd person and my name in the same sentence is against the law ! punishable with persistent nagging about 3rd person next time I am on your TS ! :p Having to test every mod before you allow it on the server is a pain in the arse though. Specially if its like the 4th weapon rest mod your testing or the 10th m4 mod etcetc. Having a single mod which almost does it all as ACE did/willdo was a godsend from my point of view. It meant I could keep the server mod updates down to just a few mods. Its bad enough with only 4 mods which we use atm I would hate to have to keep track of 40+ mods on a server having to test each update or maybe redo the servers missions for each update in a list of 40+ I guess some server admins don't test each mod to see if it causes errors in the rpt or to see if the weapon resting for example was done how you want it on the server. I think they just make things harder for the server admins who do, because Joe P. says hey blabla server allows this mod why don't you ? "because i'm a grumpy old fart thats why !" :) -
Hi Beazley. Cool mod. Do you have any plans to remove the Open backpack / Heal / Inventory / open door / get in icons which always seem to be in your face when in a firefight? Not sure what these are classed as... interaction icons I presume ? Maybe they could be placed on a toggle Show/Hide key or just relegated to the mouse scroll only.

I like CSE a lot tested it for hours at least 20+ hours now. It is way way behind where ACE was 2 years ago and in no way better than ACE is/was. No disrespect to the CSE guys. just stopping the hype that's pure bs. -

No. there are mods which attempt to do what ACE did but fail. " man " Doing something which appeals to the masses and claiming its better than ace is just.. how it is at the moment I guess. Copy paste BS claiming its doing something better but its just a copy doing it worse. But in response to the OP:- "Why couldn't all the modders work together, and make something better than ACE" My guess would be because they introduced money into the mod scene. so its now a dog eat dog, each man for himself comunity. -

Did lots of tests using the AIserverBenchmark. Ran with HC and Server on Same box using affinity to separate cores. Ran with HC and Server on two different machines but on local connection. Ran all tests with different settings :- 100% AI on HC or 50/50 AI spread on HC and Server. All tests showed for me that at the time using HC gave no better results to than Server alone when putting AI on the HC. I would agree with Zerty that using HC to run certain scripts would maybe be more beneficial than using the HC for AI.

Cool I will look forward to it. I guess as 3rd is only disabled when you reach Elite difficulty settings by default, you could put it in an advanced section of your tutorials?
