Hell in the Pacific 0.5 beta release

Yeah, me too. I'd probably take on the huge challenge of making a battleship or LST. Woud'nt be the right thing to start off with though. Btw, landing the tank worked for me aswell. I guess with alot more effort thus more triggers I could make the tank move off the LCM alot smoother. What I realy hate about the AI though is what they do when I tell them to land infantry on the beaches. Mostly the LCM's decide to turn around if its too hot for them. you really gotta hate the Arma AI. I wish there would be a function to deactivate the independence of the units so they would just go where I tell them to in a straight line (atleast for Naval landings). The only possilbe way that I can think of is the command where you record your movements and then let the Ai play back your movements (forgot the name of the command|That was the only way to get a proper takeoff and landing with an F18 on the Nimitz back then). However, recording every movement you want the LCM's to do would be too time consuming for me......especially with 8 or more of them... The only thing that calms me down again after thinking about arma's AI is that I know how incredibly complicated it is to make a game engine after reading about it on the internet. In particular an engine like Virtual Reality. Although I can totally understand and support the people who rant about the arma engine/ai, this is something one should take into account when doing so. Again, thankyou for the headsup on the tank landing. -

At this point I realy have to say thankyou for your answeres guys. Looks like you put alot of effort in ^^. I have yet to try though and see if it works. I have another questions/wish regarding the flamethrower. Will you make it that the flames stay on the ground and that people burn and run screaming ( i know it might not be for everyone, but its realistic and realy gives a feeling of roughness and immersion. Maybe as part of a module. Secondly, could you make the flames stay on the ground longer than they used to in i44? maybe a minute or longer so that it realy gives a feeling of desctruction. Thats one of the major things I would realy appreciate to see. (hope im not sounding too demanding). Funny thing is that the real LVT with the gun on top realy looks like they cut the upper part of a stuart off. :D -------->http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/94/LVTA1-amp25.JPG Think im gonna glue a howitzer on my LVT. Or how about this one? http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_MXu96taKq-Y/SzxQp7MWaDI/AAAAAAAAEDo/dw-fvqPVN7o/s1600/7.jpg Anyway, off spamming the beachead with tanks :) -

I have a question regarding some editing. First off, how to I place the LVT's or Landings boats on the Passenger ships? I want them to be in the same place as with the logistics module, just before the mission starts. Secondly, How can I make the Landing craft transport AI tanks to th shore that then drive off the boats and onto the beach? Thankyou in Advance. -

yeah, if the supply line realy works out the way that you said, it realy gets the island warfare feeling across. BTW, what island are you fighting on the video? -

I have been following this mod for over a year now and from what i have seen, i am absolutely certain that this will be one of the (if not the) most polished and complete mods for arma 2. Only mod that realy is almost bugfree and complete is ACE (but thats another story) I dont believe i would ever say this, but please do me a favour and dont rush, nomatter what people say. Your pictures and WIP reports have convinced me that its worth to take the time. I think, but im not sure, i have written a PM to Mr Pederson a few months ago, about my interest in joining the beta tester team. I have arma 1 and 2 experience and I am very interested in helping in the making/polishing of this mod. If you still need people, please come back to me :) Greetings, Galaxie -
Hi, I know this thread is rather old but i might have the solution. I am experiencing EXACLTY the same problem also with the HOTAS X. I noticed that when i programed my joystick for arma the green PRESET light was activated on the joystick. Now i am going to try to program the joystick again (ingame) without the green PRESET light being activated. i hope it works, since the joystick works perfectly with IL 2 1946 EDIT: I just tried it and it seems to work fine now!!! :D hope i could help

yeah looks realy awesome. i realy cant beleve that no one has talked about the b-29 yet. this is a plane that , in my oppinion, must be in the game (whether its sooner or later doesnt realy matter). realy realy love this plane and the b-24 and b-25 mitchell. I also hope that you make an okinawa map (you probably cant make it nearly full size due to its real life size, but atleast some large okinawa map would be awesome). i worte to mr pedersen about being a beta tester, but got no reply yet. Since i cant mod and dont have any 3d programs (oxygen 2 is too difficult and 3Ds max is too expensive) i would like to contribute the the project, a little bit, by being a beta tester :)
