was not aware play with six supported the arma3 alpha... may have to check into this
-
too many bunny hoppers online if we get jumping... vaulting is fine that or jumping should have a HUGE penalty, like after two jumps your out of breath and slower for 30 seconds (making it not ideal to use to avoid being shot.... aka 'Bunny Hoppers')
-
man this game isn't going to run on anyones PC if we get all the features we want.... this would be nice but i would like to see more gameplay changing elements added first
-
just report it man, use the link on the main menu of the game. i dont mean to come across rude but this is an alpha, not a game, not even a demo, so first and foremost your job right now is to report things like crashes and how to reproduce them so they can be fixed. i know its frustrating not being able to play with your bud but again its just alpha and the sole purpose is to test, not to have fun

i crash as soon as i load a mission in multiplayer... its loads all the way then right as i should spawn, crashhh

i completely agree, but we shouldn't alienate the 90% of people who can't afford "monster rigs"... else online play would be pretty dull... now 64-bit shouldn't alienate anyone as long as its not a requirement, but it SHOULD however be supported as it would greatly improve the preformance of all 64-bit, high qnty RAM rigs out there.... "monster rigs" or not. even an average gaming rig has 8gb of ram, and if it has a 64-bit OS it will benefit from support even if it only has a gtx 460 GPU and a 945BE CPU...
-
i have to say you come across as a very entitled person in this post.... 100+ FPS maxed out in arma2/dayz requires a rig that cost $2k alone.... 95% of people who want to play arma don't have that kind of money for a rig, second, laptops play arma2 just fine, my brother has an asus with a quad 3rd gen i7, a 650m, and 8 gigs of ram all for a whopping $1.2k and he plays arma on high / ultra just fine (45-50fps) so facepalming because people won't get YOUR results is just messed up.... SECOND, i think we all know CPU takes the biggest hit in arma before graphics does. you will get more out of your money on a better CPU for this game than you will a GPU. and again, im happy you runn over 100 FPS in arma2 maxed out but please don't expect everyone else to have the kind of money you must have lying around... other people may just want to play a video game known as arma and have a normal day job with a normal salary, therefore they build a decent rig that can handle the game with respectable settings and FPS... that should be enough and certainly doesn't deserve being face palmed over.

does anyone else have a problem with their joystick not being recognized in game? I know mine is working because i just got done with an IL2 match using it. I have a Saitek Cyborg Evo Force feed back (wired)... just curious if im the only one... (yes i realize controllers have their own tab under controls, but mine simply is not listed at all)

How to exit chopper V key not working ?
Covert_Death replied to Bobcat26's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
ive thrown choppers down in the editor, flow them around, landed, and been able to get out just fine using the mouse wheel method.... i have NOT however tried it in the heli scenario. -
its the right decision, this is a mil sim, and that kind of activity it outlawed in war... if you want to swap uniforms play hitman

The Fictional MX Rifle series, why?
Covert_Death replied to Frankdatank1218's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
so then you admit it exists right? just because it was abandoned doesn't meant that it won't be picked up again... many things have been invented "before their time" and were later, reclaimed and proven very useful... who is to say caseless isn't going to experience this? take electric cars for example... they held the first few land speed records until 1900... infact the first car to achieve a speed higher than 60mph was an electric car. and then from the beginning of the 19th century till now they have been dead to the world, but out of nowhere electric cars SEEM to be "the way of the future" weather you agree with it or not, there is CERTAINLY a push and an uprising in electric cars, which for a long time were "abandoned"... for nearly a century. so i don't think its a stretch to say caseless being picked up 50 years after its abandonment is too far stretched, it probably just wasn't realistic back then. -
i feel you on the naval support but the arma series is already CPU intensive enough and i fear adding something that large to the CPU would certainly cripple a few machines out there that currently can run the game... as for parachuting and HALO, yes... this has been a long standing feature for the ARMA series ---------- Post added at 11:25 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:19 PM ---------- i feel you on the naval support but the arma series is already CPU intensive enough and i fear adding something that large to the CPU would certainly cripple a few machines out there that currently can run the game... as for parachuting and HALO, yes... this has been a long standing feature for the ARMA series

I thought the default tactical pace toggle was 'C'........ -
you created a whole new league... that is all i have to say... it feels like arma still but in a way its an entirely new feel (MUCH better)
-
i agree, that or a "clear modifier" button.... like i hit the left alt key and if im in a modified crouch position it goes to NORMAL crouch... too many times today was i running around at HIGH crouch and not even realizing i was exposing so much of myself

Will-my-pc-run-Arma3? What cpu/gpu to get? What settings? What system specifications?
Covert_Death replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
you could probably get the game running but don't expect more than that -

Covert_Death replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
you also have to consider 'medium' will be more visually appealing than 'high' in arma2 was so take that into consideration too.... i know everyone wants "better" gfx but its already going to look better, even on lower settings -
Where can I find a group of people play Arma 3 with?

med/ high, yes but don't expect ultra high. you have a great rig don't get me wrong, but arma has always released with its "ultra-high" intended to be ran on the next gen top tier PC, and you very much have a current PC, I would expect us to preform very similarly and get medium during alpha but hopefully high once released and optimized -

its only a 32 bit executable but the game will launch with "largeadress aware" and be capable of using 4 gigs for the game (standard 32-bit blocks at 2gigs per application, 3.25 per the system as a whole) so the game will utilize up to 4gigs -
not sure why brand has to be apart of this.... lets rephrase that to "not great CPU"... i have an AMD and expect 0 problems compared to my i5 counterparts... if he has an old out dated our mid grade CPU, its going to be the same bottleneck regardless of company

What mod's/missions do you want to see in ArmA 3 Alpha?
Covert_Death replied to Westonsammy's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
about ACE & ACRE... i LOVE these mods, but i would love even more for the vanilla game to be at this level when released and NOT need the mods...... i don't think mods should provide vital game features, i think they should be built in -
I have the Evo Force (wired) by saitek and i gotta say its a great stick with GREAT FFB, and has twist rudder action and plenty of buttons. something along those lines should server you well for this game (i also use it for FSX and Il2 sturmovick and never had a problem)

hmmmmmmmm I never thought of that.... good catch. I too hope it is improved, I liken all the animations currently to that of the vehicle, they are a "one size fits all" animation and really just don't work well, especially in multiplayer when attempting to kill someone in the midst of an animation, they are essentially teleporting around and it gets frustrating
