  1. We have been running a vanilla version of Arma II OA, with no modifications, on a dedicated box for a few years now. We mostly play CooP maps we have created that is humans against the AI. We have perfected over 100 maps in a variety of flavors to capture different gaming styles of our players. Some like Close Quarters Combat with tight door to door fighting, other like large tank battles, and others like using the whole map for Ground to Air pounding. We have found that Arma II is so well designed for manipulating the fighting environment, that we don't rreally need to add any MODS, to have fun fighting the bots. I would encouraged you if your interested in a casual game to set your filter to find our coop game server, to: BOMSF We also have a casual Teamspeak server, or we can communicate with the in game VOIP. Look forward to seeing you. Drop us a shout on or web page if you can. Cheers -=RedDog=-

Why don't people play Coop Missions??

I'm not really sure I understand all the responses to the primary question. We have discovered that most people don't really know the difference between a dedicated Multiplayer server versus a singleplayer server that host a game online. We at BOMSF have had a dedicated Coop Server up and running for almost a year now with no real issues of lag or scripting overhead. Now we don't run any expansions or mods, just custom made Coop maps that are humans versus bots. We always set the timer at 60 minutes or less to speed up game play, plus we have customized our missions to mimic a faster pace, arcade style of running and gunning. We have found our members prefer to play shorter faster CQB style maps, and thus we tend to keep them small. Compared to any other game engine out there....well there is no comparison. This game is so highly customizable that there is almost no end to the amount of interesting things we can get this game to do. The biggest issues is the coding and scripting differences between S.P. and M.P. What works for one does not always work for the other.

    Squad/Clan looking for player

Black Ops Mercenaries S.F. We have recently moved over from our own BF2 coop mod, into ArmA2 OA and wonder why we waited. This game engine has so much more strength and flexibility in the AI side. Our club specializes in the AI, and we make them do what most programmers cannot. We are pushing the code beyond what the orginal programmers thought possible. Major issue with some interesting minor behaviours that give them more human like, unpredictable qualities. We enjoy playing with all assets open to all players. This means you will find all the weapons you need in each map we create for our dedicated server. Often we will give the humans unlimited ammo so we don't waste time reloading, and enjoy killing bots without interuption. Our club designs maps for mature players, that enjoy heading a squad full of bots and moving forward in a typical advance and sercure fashion. We create maps that are tuned to our players and style of play, from sniping maps, to armor maps, to flying maps, to CQB maps. A little of everything. Normally we have 3 to 6 members playing on our server, and we always play BluFor. Our T.S. server is: 68.15.107.164, access is through our website We try not to use any mods or anything else that reduces the number of players, or forcing specialized downloads. Try us out and see if this is what you've been looking for.

    Does anybody like Role-playing online-arma?

Wasn't Arma2 orginally created as a military role simulator? Most mature gamers will play in squad against the AI, and everyone has their preferred role. We have found on our dedicated server that roles are dictated by the Maps we create. For example we have a couple of maps designed for snipers, moving up a gorge, attempting to capture flags along the advance and secure style of playing. Humans move left and right, bots up the middle. It is amazing at what these bots can do if your know how to script them right.

    Warfare

Sounds like you are looking for more of the arcade style of playing. We have been creating MP maps for our dedicated server which do have most all the weapons and many of the vehicles (depends on map). Our group like to play with open access to any weapon, so our map maker is putting in the ammo and gun crates all over the maps. It is a great way to find your favorite tool to do battle. I'm loving the TWS guns. You'll find it online as BOMSF Arma2OA. We prefer less sim and more running and gunning, so maps are set up to play that way.:bounce3:
