Combat Space Enhancement Modification
cross888 replied to glowbal's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Or you could take of the cumberbund that comes with the osperay and use belt kit. Belt kits encouraged as osperay is now general issue and i believe there will be a new modular molle webbing set out this year. http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/multimedia/archive/00319/110230084_SOMALI_01_319521c.jpg http://www.arrse.co.uk/content/attachments/36217-beltkitemptyside.jpg.html http://sphotos-c.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/382975_10150530641924393_1296401606_n.jpg http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m9dafsPLIi1rrkr57o1_1280.jpg -
I'm not that worryed about PVP, I don't play it and when I have played it all the engagements we were in were at depth like 200-300m contacts. I think it just nice to have a module or something for COOP players to be super highspeed warriors of doooom :)

ARMA 3 Addon Request Thread

I'm a mass effect geek, Mass effect armor, weapons and bad dudes. Then i can fight the opfor bugmen :) -
I have not got a scoobys. I quite liked the I44s Stabby stabby! bayonet lunges simple yet effective, I think actual bayonet fighting could be really complicated to get in game especially all the animations like parrying or butt swipes. All of the time I've seen bayonets being used in my operational experience was when we were in a more aggressive posture in the ghan, guys were being told to fix bayonets in-case of being over run or just to clear out compounds and buildings more commonly. And even then it was only being used after posting a grenade to just check that the bad bad dudes were dead. So yeah I'm rambling on again so back to my initial point, For bayonets Something like the I44 Lunge would be nice to check dead dudes or run somebody though you surprise in a 4m contact. As for actual "Stealth" Sentry ninja killing I don't know maybe an Animation you can use on "Sleeping or Sitting" badguy anims. I don't know about standing enemy's that would be a complex one.

Yeah, I Didn't like the way Ace made the barrels out of chocolate thou. All thou it would be nice to see chaining barrels every 400 rounds etc.

Holaar, One small criticism. Shouldn't his Mag pouches be on the Left? Because SA80 Series weapons are right hand fire only? -
I have to admit I said NO to stoppages and safetys. Just for the sheer fact that I'd be typing with my elbows or something and end up hitting the safety key and rage out when i get shot because my weapons decided not to play. Stoppages well I suppose on Belt Fed weapons it would be okay, but I rarely get stoppages with my Individual weapon In fact I can't remember the last time I had one. LMG's like the FN Minimi thou, that things always spazing out so yeah i suppose stopages for that would be legit.

Fair one man, I'm by no means saying it happens all the time I'm just saying that Mac's wrong to pursume that sentry killing isn't taught to combat arms troops just "Them". :) And I think speculating about that if you have no background in the mob is about as much use as me speculating about astrophysics and fencing with my penis... Okay i might know something about fencing with my shlong. @Mac Its Part of our Syllabus, I presume the ICT at Catterick has it and RM Deffo have it, now dry your eyes princess. PS: I do apologies for mistaking you for man we used to know, but you're making yourself look like a penis by getting all teary over a forum post which you clearly don't know what your talking about. However it doesn't change the fact that You can't speculate about what other NATO country's do as part of there combat arms syllabus unless you have either taken part in said training or had legitimate contact with somebody who knows what there talking about. And just because you think you're opinion is right doesn't mean it is, and screaming about how every one else is wrong just further reinforces why I mistook you as somebody else good sir. And once again I am sorry If I have caused you offense :)

HAHAHAA That bayonet Video, Awesome! I can tell you now that that's the dumed down version of it, There was no pork pies or random bullying in it so I'm not satisfied. You usually go through Crawling through aloud of shitty mud and then practice pinning down a dummy and bayoneting its eye's / throat as well. And of course the fighting through and standing on some Duckers chest whilst you stick a bayonet in there face / throat again or guts or what ever. And Mac You have no military experience fair enough you might be an ambulance tech but you don't know what your talking about. If this is the same Mac from TF86 GO talk to Scott, Porter, and MoMoe I'm pretty sure those fellas would have done sentry killing training and bayonet fighting at some point of there military careers Especially porter as he's an Airborne death dealing steely eyed high speed low drag warrior :)

I know that TF42 (UKSF) did some sentry killing in afghan I KNOW :') But as i pointed out the guys that were killed on sentry were asleep. A lot of people here seem to think you kill people by cutting blood vessels, you don't you, kill them by destroying the brains connection to the spine. (then its almost silent) That is the closest thing to a "Stealth kill" you wil lever get. IT isn't easy and unless you have complete surprise its very hard. if you've ever seen somebody have there throat cut you'd know that its a noisy messy affair there's nothing stealthy about it. Basic human biology. For all you fellas who have no operational experience as a combat arms soldier just go on liveleak and watch some syrian videos i'm sure that will be a great insite. HOWEVER, I would like to see it in the game a sentry killing aspect and a nasty gritty close quaters fighting IE bayonets. PS this entire thread make me sound like a homicidal maniac......

In all honestly Antoine Just make some guys wearing civilian hiking gear, Gucci boots and a olive green / Khaki plate carrier - Low Profile Ops SF. Can't go wrong there bro. Ali's Plate carrier is legit. And I'm sure were trying to get the modular belt kit in game. -
http://strikehold.files.wordpress.com/2009/10/hk53-cp.jpg Yeah i've seen "Them" using those when I was on Ops. Mostly with suppressors attached and some with the l96 sights on. But thats back in 2008 so they might have something better now? :\

NATO Special Operations Command [BETA]
cross888 replied to antoineflemming's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
All UKSF "Sanitize" there uniforms before ops that means removing all badges. Our guys don't wear any badge of rank, nationality or anything that would suggest a change of force in theaters. Also most Tier 1 troops wear there jungle DPM cammo or crye gear and only tend to wear helmets on strike op's or mobility SFSG Dudes are the same they get given a 12 grand Grant to buy there own equipment so a lot of the stuff they were isn't issue. Not so many of them wear Jungle DPM but a few doo due to there not being enough places on Boats or Blades squadrons So they get posted to SFSG. Sources - Operational experience and a few of my mates are SF / SFSG. But i suppose it's your mod so crack on fella. -
My main concern about the OPFOR units are that there too futuristic they look like they've just walked of a drop ship not a landing craft. Does any one else share my concern? Personally I'd like to see a more conventional and unconventional enemy force much like arrowhead and arma 2 For example a para militarily force or criminal entity like the Taliban, and a professional force like the Russian Army or Takistani Regulars. Please Vote on the Poll.

Like the model dude I have one criticism, It seems the barrel is too slim and the optics block seems to tall and slim. Apart from that good sir, crack on :) x -

Hello I'm currently modeling a L119A1 (SFW Dimarco) basically an M4 but i'm having issues with the weapon. Basically to make it fit the soldier the stock has to be alot longer then it should be to fit in the shoulder. I was wondering Am i doing it wrong? I mean I strectched the stock to make it fitt but surely there's a better way? If not are BI going to release another weapon holding animation for example for carbines SMG's so he holds it closer to his body. Thank you http://imgur.com/NCqhPTf PS Bare in mind that thats not the finished model its just an example of the long stock :\

Player looking for squad (not for squads to post looking for players!)
cross888 replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 3 - SQUADS AND FANPAGES
Screen Name: Cross Game Experience Played OFP, ARMA, ARMA2, VBS1, VBS2 With clans now i'm looking for an Arma 3 group. Real Life Experience I'm 25 years old 8 year veteran of the RAF Regiment, and that's pretty much it. Worked on Maneuver support groups, Mortars, and Rifle Flights as well as MERT and some SF Support tasking. Clans: AEF back in the day and ATF? for ofp. Razors Edge for VBS, then i played with TF86 and 4thDragoons / BRF Dudes. All good groups just all of them closed doors. What I'm looking for: I'm looking for a GMT based Arma 3 group preferably special operations or light role infantry, Any group with a over 18 policy with none of that rank nonsense I'm too old and cranky to put up with a 14 year old LT COL. Please don't waste my times with PM's if you don't have an over 18 policy and have a rank structure. -
Aye it fits the hand grips it just seems that the standard animation for it holds it too far in front of him. Surely there must be away to adjust how close he holds his weapon in to the shoulder? :\ Means shorter weapons like the Carbines and SMG can be modled to scale :\

L110A3 - Light machine gun as used by UKSF forces currently a work in progress but I think it will look pretty decent once we finish it. Thanks to Lennard and DA12thMonkey for the MLOD's

*Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh* @Mac Our Reservist infantry guys get taught sentry killing with knifes. It is practiced on operations by some fellows in black-tape wearing units I MO I've seen it done. Lads from TF42 were sentry killing in the mountains around Breman and Baharam Chah in Helmand province because on Knight strike Op's they were coming through the hills killing sleeping Taliban sentrys. Admittedly Most units don't use knifes for sentry killing as its not in our spectrum of warfare but the sneaky beaky warrirors have done it. In 2006-2008 UK forces were fixing bayonets when operating in the Greenzone and Built up areas because of the nature of fighting there was Close Quarters Battle so I'd like to see something of the sort in ARMA, even if its just for checking that the bad dudes are dead by sticking your net in to there throat or something. As for actual sentry killing there is ways for killing an opponent that are deemed quite effective for example we were taught push the head forward and stick your knife in to the base of the skill, kutting the spines connection to the brain scrambling the lower brain (Medulla Oblongata) and effectively killing your enemy instantly. I'm sure the armchair warriors with no real military experience can have a dig thou. So that's my argument presented I'd like to see bayonets and possible sentry killing in the game maybe on a module? I don't know, but like somebody said actual sentry killing scenarios are few and far between unless your a death from above SF Demon. Bayonets however will always have a place in general warfare :) Thanks. PS I don't play PVP So I'm not to worryed about being Ganked by some parachuting Ninja with a bowie Knife :)

Hello another question Will BI be making any more heads for ARMA3 as it seems all the heads seem to look like high and tight US Marines. It would be nice if you guys could model in some fellas with longer hair, facial hair etc. For example most civilians don't have short short hair. And most SF Guys have long hair to make them look less military for low profile ops, so i was wondering do you guys at BI have any intention off adding more heads to game.
