ok, here's the situation. I have a base and I'm bulding units there (soldiers, vehicles, etc). I don't want them in my team, instead, I would like to create some bigger unit, that will be able to manage via High Command and assign those soldiers and vehicles into this new platoon or section. Or in other words - I would like to my team stay as it is - small spec ops. But I would like to also have armored platoon and several infantry squads that will be managable via High Command. Is it possible? I know that I can assign soldiers from my team to smaller sub-groups (named by colours) but at least for me it is not convenient solution for micromanagment

graphics bugs with ATI 4800 series (4850/4870/4890)
eyab replied to fjaekel's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I have MASSIVE artifacts and disappearing objects. Here are some examples: http://imageshack.us/f/848/arte1h.jpg/ http://imageshack.us/f/268/arte2a.jpg/ The problem exist more often in cities (esp. Czernogorsk) or when flying. So basicaly at scenes rich in objects. Problem were not so often in Operation Arrowhead but it is very common at base Arma 2 (in Czarnogorsk I can't walk more than 30s before artifacts appear). Alt+tab or shift - flush helps a bit (eliminates artifact and graphic is normal again) but it is only temporary solution - sooner or later those graphic bugs pop up again. Changing texture details or video memory in options doesn't resolve problem either. Here is my config: Core 2 Duo @3.8GHz 4GB ram @1000MHz (1066MHz nominal) Gainward Radeon 4850 512MB Golden Sample, catalyst ver: 10.12 HDD 500GB @7200 (lots of free space) Win XP Pro SP3 32bit Arma version 1.59 I though it was because graphic card overheating but cooling system is custom made by Gainward (2 slots). However, I downclocked card and temp. both GPU and vmemory don't exeed 50 celcius degrees (checked by riva tuner). Moreover, in RT I noticed other thing - very high video memory usage - up to 700MB : -

OA looks really bad despite graphic settings + mouse issue
eyab posted a topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
First of all hi, because I'm new here. Second: Arma looks really bad and changing graphic settings doesn't do anything with visuals in-game. Below are screens with comment: First of all, settings: Uploaded with ImageShack.us wyłączone = off b. nisko = very low nisko = low normalnie = normal wysoko = high b. wysoko = very high first screen: Here we can clearly see, that foliage over distance has very poor LoD second screen: here not only foliage but also objects looks poor at the distance Now textures: normal textures, normal video memory vs v.high textures, v.high video memeory: vs Only noticeably differenc is wheel. Both settings look almost the same, markings and numbers even at the highest setting still look low-res and blurry So main problems are: low LoD, low texture quality and no visual difference between different settings. Anyone had same problem and found solution? Here is my config: Core 2 Duo E7200 @3,8GHz Radeon 4850 512MB, Catalyst 10.8 4GB Ram @1066 HDD @7200RPM 150GB free on partition PSU: OCZ 650W Win XP Pro SP3 Arma 2: OA only (so no Arma 2 alone), version 1.56 no mods And another issue - my mouse seems to float. It feels lika a massive acceleration. I had the same feeling in first ArmA and also in recent CoD:BO. I have vsync turned off. Other fps (like Red Orchestra, BFBC2, Stalker, Metro 2033, etc) works fine.
