Community interest in Rearmed for ArmA 3 (integration of A2 and OA content with A3)
namaan replied to OMAC's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
This would be very cool. I can imagine it being a fair amount of work though... -
seen a shark, and two wrecks, loving the underwater environment...
-
certainly interested in getting involved in this. would be awesome to get some co-op in the alpha steam profile name is Orophin18
-
this is a great question, the presence of larger maritime assets would throw up some *very* interesting mission opportunities....not to mention the awesome power of naval gunnery!. I'm sure that some of the modding community are already dreaming up some of these things however as pointed out, the addition or these objects will likely incur a performance hit. we'll just have to wait and see i think :)

really just echoing the others here when i say that I'm loving the alpha, already the game us running much better than arma2 did for me! well done Bohemia!!

Can someone tell me why you'd make a game of 2013 very CPU heavy?
namaan replied to scaramoosh's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
hopefully it'll be a little better at launch then Arma 2 was eh :) -
from a time scale perspective ( the games being set in 2035) i don't see a few "future weapons" (if you'll excuse the overly cliche) as a problem. Besides the awesome modding community that exists for Arma will bring back the old school in due time.

That's good to know. Thanks

ARMA 3 base terrain textures WORSE than the original Operation Flashpoint
namaan replied to SandboxPlaya's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
agreed, i would imagine that this will be looked at by the devs before the release of the full game. i know this has been said a couple of times, but it is still an Alpha right? -
Agreed....
-
Voted no for the following reasons 1. Difficulties running mods,(i'd love an easy solution to this btw) 2. The Bloatware 3. Downloading updates can take ages on steam I think that having both a steam version and a retail boxed game would be the best option, and i'm sure many members of the community will agree.

Will my PC Run this? What CPU/GPU to get? What settings? System Specifications.

Evening all having spent the best part of the last week reading this ENTIRE thread, i'm looking for some pointers. i ran both the Arma2 benchmarks on my rig (specs in sig) with Post processing and AA disabled a view distance of 3600, all other settings on high, playing at 1024 X 768 in Benchmark 1 my average FPS was 34 Benchmark 2= 20fps my biggest issue= texture loading...i experience poor texture loading even at lower settings. i understand that hard disc speed is a factor in texture loading. my current HDD is a western digital Caviar blue SATA2 160gb (for OS and most used apps) any recommendations on a solution to the texture loading issue? -

are we correct to assume that future hardware may make better use of the SATA3? or is it another gimmick from manufacturers to make us spend more cash? ....it sounds like the latter of the two from here.
