By pre rendered frames do you mean max frames ahead and detected frames ahead? I've got it running at a reasonable performance level not briliant but not unplayable either. I probably overreacted when I said it was unplayable it just wasn't especially immersive which is what I was going for. I think I'm just going to take a leap of faith and buy the damn game already, at worst Ill just have to save for a new graphics card and at best it will be a lot smoother ride and Ill get what I want out of it. Even on having most of the settings set to normal or low its still slow to react the only way I have been able to get decent performance is to switch everything to low or very low. Does the fully patched arma 2 oa really perform better then the demo I mean honest to god noticeably better? Ive been tweeking for days and I cant get a good balance between graphics and performance and I'm sure I should be able to I mean I can run crysis 2 on this thing!

Hmm the op arrow head demo is slightly better it runs quite nice on the demo campaign mission but in slightly larger battles the response time and sluggishness kills the overall experience. Im only getting around 18/19 fps on the benchmark mission. Still not sure if I'm gonna buy it, it says on "will my pc run it" that my graphics card needs to be in the 500 mbs instead of the 700mbs I had no idea it worked that way I thought a higher number of mbs was better :( .

I recently downloaded the arma 2 demo from steam hoping I would discover if the game ran well on my new pc. After downloading and playing I found that while it was not totally unplayable it was very slow to react and generally sluggish, unless I turned the graphic settings to low/very low in which case the game becomes so blurry there really isn't any point in playing. Ive heard a fully updated version of arma2 works far better and I wasn't sure if the demo available on steam had been updated. I would just like to know if it is actually worth purchasing the game and patching it up, or if my pc is still to wimpy to handle it? Thank you.

Fixed turns out it was windows 7 in order to do pretty much anything I had to turn off the uac.

Ok so I finally got my new pc its a real beast very sadly though and with deep deep regret I had to take windows 7 as my operating system no idea if this is causing some of the problems I am facing its already caused enough inconvenience. FFUR will no longer run unless I install both replacement packs ie grass AND res buildings, the grass I can deal with but the new buildings cause me problems and Ive never chosen that option but now its the only one I can choose because when I try to run the game after picking option 2 it simply comes up with the dos screen saying I have not installed the replacement pack and insists I must install it before I can play. Any ideas? Scratch that now I cant play it even if I install everything.

Yeah it would be cool I would think your creature range may be limited though to melee monsters only.

You could probably reskin those farmland nbc units to look like HECU marines and then use some afghan map with military/research buildings dotted around it to look like the black mesa complex.

I think messing with the animins could really screw some things up especially the dragging wounded men, then again I'm a total noob so I don't really know.

Cheers for pointing me in the right direction what I did was locate the group link 3 radio settings.. And deleted it problem solved no more radios thanks again now its perfect!:D

That would be very awesome of you Aye I like my radios too but only when they are on my radio mans back :o like in the gdce everon campaign. Btw would the updated config file fix the broken scripts/waypoints problem as well or just the view distances? Would firefights still last longer and would squad members still be more spaced out then in original ofp? Sorry for all the questions.
