The flicker lodding issues have been a problem for so long they're not even worth mentioning. It's likely they don't see this as a "bug". Visual fidelity has never been a priority. If you use the old buldozer exe that comes with the tools in Visitor, then launch the very same terrain in-game using the latest patches - the sheer volume of insta lod switching currently present is shocking. -
Yeah it's not an out of memory error. Essentially the WRP that binarize produces is 15mb rather than the 300mb it should be. After a lot of testing it seems I've hit some kind of object limit within Visitor that works in buldozer but isn't supported by binarize. Oh well, I guess it's a sign. Stop adding damn objects to your terrain!

Is there an upper filesize limit of the WRP? I'm having issues with a WRP larger than 500mb. Below 500 it loads fine, above 500 the game crashes on load (though buldozer loads fine) with loads of these errors in the rpt: bimpas no longer expected on terrain - reexport xxxxxxx.wrp

Great mod! Are there any updates to the objects included that could be made available for map developers? The Vietnamese huts for instance are really really dark on a terrain I'm building, they seem to be using outdated ArmA 1 rvmats that could do with an increase in diffuse values? -

Strange, I can't recall any developer of a shooter claim they wanted to exactly match those specific titles. Since I've been waiting for about 10 years to hear someone say that, I think I might have recalled. -

His intent is clear. If he wanted to dupe people, why would he specifically state that he wants to create the successor to "the original Rainbow Six and SWAT series". The fanbase for these titles has eroded to nothing, he could have picked some incredibly dumbed down popular mainstream shooters but he doesn't. -

The tactical shooter community is too negative for this to be an easy success. Back in the early 2000s it was mostly gamers playing challenging FPS titles for fun. Today it's morphed into a really weird place with ultra hardcore military geeks on one side and console kids on the other. Turns off the bulk of actual pc gamers stuck in the middle. -

Is it normal for buldozer to take 10 minutes to load? This is with terrains that work in the engine and aren't very taxing. Some have no objects on them at all but still take 10 minutes to load. I'm wondering if this is normal or expected behavour?

If I have a mission that my dedi server #monitor says is outputing 1500kbps, does each client need to be able to receive that too? does the 1500kbps out double if another client joins?

Players in MP damaging each other close to walls

Has anyone noticed that players are wounding each other in MP by running into one another? It usually happens near walls. One player will displace\bump another and shove them into a wall, sometimes killing them. It might be ACE2 medical system related as we have that on our server? It's been a while since I played, is the ability for players to shove each other around new with the latest patch? I often find myself being nudged or loosing my aim because a player close to me has chosen the same spot for cover. -
How can I synchronise MP mission start across all clients?

I'm moving all player units into a helicopter at mission start. It's critical to the mission that all players are in the chopper without too much desync or delay. The issue is that some players are not being moved into the chopper fast enough and are standing on the ground after mission start. Is there a way to delay or pause mission start till all clients have caught up? -

I can confirm this. RPT does not provide any obvious clues either. EXE just goes into full CPU usage. -
1) Lack of creativity. BIS are unable to find a way to set themselves apart. They do nothing excellently. There isn't one single element that excites new players. Rather than go all out on detail - gameplay detail, not texture detail, they try to walk a middle ground. See recent attempts to speed up animations. Something community members have never demanded en masse. Who are they trying to appeal to? Chasing COD by making the movement "friendlier" is uninspired decision making. As an example. Remember the pre-release hype around S.T.A.L.K.E.R's sleep system and dynamic free roaming gameplay. Ignore that this never came to fruition. Players were excited about these sorts of features. BIS's engine is perfectly suited to this sort of detailed oriented gameplay. We saw some of that in the Resistance campaign, stockpiling weapons between missions. Do BIS develop features like this? They attempt it by lazily scripting it in eg conversation system..broken and gone now. Do they make real engine changes? No. Again, no attempt to creatively set themselves apart. 2) Technical hitches, the game has a rep for being buggy and slow. BIS heavily rely on scripting and don't seem to be willing to commit to actual changes on the engine side. They use scripted modules rather than written in engine changes, modules which are finicky and slow and lead to bugs. Why has the mission editor remained exactly the same for 10 years? Sure it works, but does it excite anyone? No. 3) Uninspiring singleplayer. This is the first thing new players focus on. Forget that what keeps the core audience for the game coming back is the mission editor and the modding community. New players don't care about that. Can anyone remember the Resistance Campaign and how good it was? Since then it's been generic military with zero character. 4) "Armed Assault" is a poor name, sounds bargain bin. The first game was poorly marketed as being a follow up to Flashpoint, a title the majority of long term PC players know. Many still don't know about ArmA though. Again this comes back to lack of creativity. I know it sounds harsh.. There's an undercurrent of mediocrity. Which is an incredible shame since these titles are clearly an established franchise that they're willing to continue developing. As a business, but not in any real meaningful passionate way.

very nice piece of software, well done is there a trick to using the forest generator? i've tried many different image formats and 512x images as described in the help, but the simulation always shows 0 objects also tried a single blank object with a single colour and it still doesn't generate anything
