    Bug When Buying New Units

Never heard, read or experience such a bug and I played Dogs Of War mission twice with different patch versions. What patch version are you using? Are you using mods? My best quess is that if the commander is somehow copying your stance and trying to go prone inside that vehicle it might glitch and kill him. AI movement bugs often disappear when game is shutdown completely and earlier save is loaded.
  2. How much RAM you got? Windows 32-bit or 64-bit? Badlands and Dogs Of War missions consume a lot of memory. Only Arma2 .exe took about 2.2GB memory for me. When saving memory usage will increase with about 200MB. So yes. It is possible that you really run out of memory. Try temporarily decreasing visibility setting to minimum of 500. It is the most RAM consuming setting.

Transport chopper does not show up

In what mission this happened to you? Helicopter can be shot down by enemy, so it is wise to call them to areas when where most of the enemy is eliminated already. Even a small enemy patrol often has one AA specialist carrying anti-aircraft weapon. They use it efficiently and helicopters used for transport can go down with single missile hit. Usually there will be no radiomessage about helicopter going down, but smoking wreck is usually a sign that it happened.
  4. Run Benchmark 3 times, but close the game in between. This way you decrease probability of memory leak/memory fragmentation to cause those 4-9 FPS changes. Suma said he fixed a memory leak a few betas ago, so it is possible that leak was already present in 1.59 non-beta. I think recent betas offer no performance optimizations, but at least stability fixes and gameplay optimizations spiced with new technology which according to benchmarks eats a little more hardware power. Deleting old beta folder completely before installing new one might help. Helped my gamebuddy when it said he had 1.57 when he actully had 1.59. Also he had not been installing betas for couple of months or so.
  5. Arma2oa.exe consumed over 2.2GB memory for a long time before crashes (probably because of heavy Dogs Of War mission and visibility of 10000), but that should not be a reason for crash since I've got 8GB RAM and Win7 64 and the game is large address aware according to the developers. So those crashes must be still memory leaks. Anyway time to move on using next beta released yesterday and forget this one.

    Bulletin board update?

If decisions are made for some threads only (or do you mean subforums only?) I would like to hear some good facts why those deserve it and some others do not. I can't understand what is so special in USER MISSIONS or A&M:C that they would deserve thanking function more than QUESTIONS & ANSWERS, TROUBLESHOOTING or OFFICIAL MISSIONS subforums which have higher percentage of questions and answers naturally related to thanking. Thumbs up and thumps down system would be good really to the best solution and if you still add some kind of system, please make it permanent I already wasted lots of time thanking people for posts that have been important for me.
  7. Because after Manhattan mission which requires a lot of enemy contact to complete (4 sentry camps + 1 main camp = approx. 40-50 kills) I enjoy the fact that Bitter Chill can be completed without firing a single shot. I think I saw in mission notes that we should avoid conflict with Russians, so that's why I don't want my Humwee gunner to automatically shoot them just because they come to Spykayev's house to get same documents out HQ wants. It was implied that avoiding conflict with OPFOR could help diplomacy with OPFOR (Russians) in Dogs Of War. And killing them just for some documents that can be grabbed before seeing them is just not my decision. I used to take out Chedaki pickup west of FOB Manhattan, but I got tired to doing it over and over, when I had to restart Bitter Chill multiple times when I was playing it with very unstable V1.56 patch causing save corruptions and out of memory errors. So I switched to tactic just leaving them there and let NAPA fighters take a shot on them when they come down from FOB Manhattan. I have started to think Bitter Chill is boring mission where everything is just supposed to go wrong too much and I hate the fact that there are so many autodeath zones in south, making it much less sandbox style mission, so I just drive to CDF lines to end it fast. In Badlands and Dogs Of War there are enough action to compensate the fact I never fired a shot in Bitter Chill.
  8. Got 3 Out of memory crashes when playing Dogs Of War mission for several hours. Files emailed to Dwarden.
  9. Thanks OMAC. Actully NAPA fighters coming from east of FOB Manhattan are not attacking, they run, but they are there just inspect and see who we are. When they hear who you are, depending on NAPA weapon cache was reported or not, in Arma2 (but apparently not Arma2 CO) they should either offer help to escort or just give some tips and then say good bye. Even if reporting guns they can be followed on their long journey to NAPA safehouse where they stay until the end of the mission (and sometimes get killed there or on the way there by enemy patrols). Jezuro told me he could not reproduce the issue in CO. It is still unclear if it is because using some developers god-mode to clear Manhattan mission enemy main camp and 4 sentry camps which are required for mission completion. Apparently he did not (yet) use my 1.59 multiplayer savegame which includes Manhattan with all objectives completed and it is located right next to Gorka church so you can make either decision to report or not. The fact that it is MP savegame should not make any difference since xALIENAx reported earlier in this thread that he has only tested singleplayer and it happened to him there too. So my best guess is that bug only happens if weapon cache objective is completed as one of the last ones in Manhattan (like I have done twice, I left is last one before Report to Cpt. Shaftoe (for second time). My second best guess could be that the way how we play Bitter Chill start before FOB bombing changes something that bugs weapon cache decision. In Bitter Chill start I have always avoided russian contact in Spykayev's house (I go there before 7-10mins of mission starts and russians arrive to house only after 10mins) also I go around Chedaki patrol in FOB Manhattan frontpost (road leading down from FOB Manhattan). Instead I climb to FOB Manhattan on northeast part of the hill (without visual to Chedaki). So this could result me beeing to fast in returning to FOB Manhattan. So what we should test next would be to play in SP (so it is easier for Jezuro to use that savegame) and go to weapon cache as the first thing and then do only main camp and 4 sentry points. I'm afraid I have not time to do all that again, but if I do in following weeks, I'll report here what happened. Meanwhile if you have anything new to tell, let us know. Thanks!
  10. No it is not possible. I do not replay missions, since I have immediately noticed savegaming is not working ok in replay mode. The first time I played this mission was 1.54 and I decided to not report weapons, but I took some grenades from their weapon cache boxes. Could mission script be so clever it noticed that? Even if yes. Why would that decision not be overwritten when I started over and played from mission one with 1.59. So next time I played with 1.59 and started the whole Harvest Red campaign from starting with prelude mission called "Start". This time again not reporting weapons and not going even near those boxes. I have reproduced this twice and xALIENAx has confirmed it too. There must be something wrong with it. Also I don't see anyone else here reporting they got it working with CO. Both times I went to Gorga to check weapons cache as one of the last 3 objectives could that be the reason and should that be one of the first things to do in Manhattan to make it right? The most importantly did you try using my savegame attached to CIT report. It starts near Gorka with all objectives completed so all you need to do is to talk to Fyodor and then travel to FOB Manhattan?
  11. I think them (devs) adding new technology in betas causes slight FPS decrease. Nothing to worry about too much since new technology brings enough advantages to compensate minor FPS decrease. I also noticed decreasing FPS when benchmarking all 3 benchmarks with previous older betas. See report here.
  12. Here is a little discussion about Superpowers warfare mission. It all depends how you define "AI ever uses aircraft"... AI commander will not buy aircraft, but if you buy aircraft AI pilor will use aircraft but you have to manually give them orders.

    Bulletin board update?

You just failed because of this great old post. ;)

    Bulletin board update?

Show only thanked messages button or search option for thread would be useful to filter you useless chit chat and offtopic replys in threads and immediately seeing those replys that have most reading value.
  15. Thanks OMAC. Lets not forget we can also vote for the issue to get higher chances to get it fixed. I see you are registred there too OMAC... http://dev-heaven.net/issues/20227 BTW did you notice we have new "Thanks"-function button on bottom right of every post (not including our own ones ofcourse). I already used it for 2 of your posts that helped me.
  16. I have played with decisions to avoid conflict with Russian army in Dogs Of War, so I do not know what they have up there in northwest, but been all around the map and ran that mission once over 24 hours and never saw anything else than those 3 USMC helicopters and CDF helicopter flying.
  17. I'm only familiar with 2 Arma2 CO vanilla warfare missions: Badlands and Dogs Of War In Badlands I have not seen any aircraft not on land and not on air. In Dogs Of War I have only seen friendly USMC helicopters and CDF helicopter that comes to pick up captures Lopotev. Never seen enemy use aircraft. Someone else may reply how it is in vanilla warfare scenarios which I have never touched.
  18. I was assuming fix automatically appilies to all winged creatures of Armaversum without categorizing them, but when it comes to your find, I'm surprised to hear there are butterflies if I have not ever seen one in game with excessive playing of Chernarus based missions, but I think seeing Odonata (dragonflies and damselflies)seems more familiar to me, correct me if its just in my imaginations but something like that popped big in my binocular view once. :)
  19. http://dev-heaven.net/issues/20437 81978 is higher build than this. So if it is really fixed already we can expect see the fix in next build that is released what ever number that is.

    How to play co-op? mp?

Likewise. You can host coop yourself and play like singleplayer until someone joins in and takes control of one of your AI teammates. To host campaigns yourself: Singleplayer->Campaign->Host->(change Host: LAN to Host: Internet)->OK and so on. I host tuesday evening/night with server name http://relay.pp.fi usually there is just 2 or 3 of us, so if you wish to join, then PM me. Unfortunately I'm going to take a break on playing Arma2 after finishing Dogs Of War (for the second time), but well that can take more than 2 tuesday nights since its a longest mission there is. We have UK based TS3 server as well where bunch of people gather for Arma2 COOP. If you wonder what campaign to coop with there is actually on 3 options here on official missions Arma2 Harvest Red campaign for 4 players (no respawn), Arma2 Operation Arrowhead campaign for 4 players (with auto-respawn) and PMC Operation Black Gauntlet campaign for 2 players only. Eagle Wing and BAF Operation Crimson Lance campaigns are SP only. Ofcourse there are some of enjoyable non-campaign COOP missions that are re-designed from BAF Operation Crimson Lance campaign missions, but that is another story.
  21. Not tested 81921 yet, but completed Badlands mission with 81867 last night and saw only one place that flickered: Wooden floor of Novy Sobor main bunker (probably same with all other main bunkers too). It flickered really bad and completely disappeared when looking it at certain angle. I may link a screenshot of it if it helps.
  22. Not sure if I should answer just the title or just the above quote or both, but here are my thoughts anyway. Bandlands (and Dogs Of War) reinforcing the original allied troops has been discussed so many times I have lost count. You better read these so I save some time in writing: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=74484 http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=84509 http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=86969 http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=107540 http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?p=1404534 http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?p=1523398 About your real problem of strong enemy troops in Stary Sobor. Here are some tips. Not sure if you play on CDF or NAPA side, but in either one Stary Sobor is easy to keep but toughest one to keep. Leaving one BRDM-2 or two near main bunker is usually enough to keep enemy from conquering it since most of enemy troops are moving in west and northwest part of the town and only few will actively try to conquer main bunker. I completed Badlands (CDF side) last night like this:
  23. Great news and intresting reading! One side note however: Is this a typo of in the word natively or did the writer really mean to do naive programming. 1. This should be already fixed a while ago (in 81172) See: http://forums.bistudio.com/showpost.php?p=1956898&postcount=29 "he turned around and wanted to shoot me" if enemy with that kind of lethal weapon could not hit you while you are switching to M136, I can only imagine there was some insisible graphics between that took the both of your bullets before trying M136 2. According to my benchmark results (found on one of the recent beta discussions) average FPS in Chernarus has decreased 1-2 FPS with last 5 betas. Ofcourse it could be more for someone with not as powerful hardware.
  24. I think this is the best we who have no access to source code can do about it: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=110823 What also might help is to tell in what maps, missions and gametypes you have them and with what hardware specs and how soon after starting playing.

    How do you fast travel?

Me? :) I do not. I generally dislike time compression functions in games because they are likely to create bugs and are unrealistic compared to normal realtime movement. However I would like to help you with this if I could, but there is quite a few information about it. To conclude what I have read in other posts may or may not be correct: It works only in singleplayer. It works in Badlands and Dogs Of War It works only in some parts of the map (for example road starts in villages/towns). It requires road to be clear from obstacles and no enemy inside certain radius It may not work when Razor Team is split up After fast travel there is a bug where one of Razor Team AI members sometimes starts to move to some direction without taking any orders and eventually gets killed by enemy or glitching with objects. You can personally test how many of those claims are true. Also first test it in roads that are leading away from enemies and do not go first trying to fast travel to enemy territory towns/villages. Hope this points you to some direction.
