    Can't Hijack Enemy Vehicles

    Are you using mods? If yes, I have read so many posts about it causing weird things in warfare. Also you said you played cooperatively. Some vehicles that can be captured or taken over in coop cannot be captured in single player. For example in Combined Operations I always managed to take over AAV7A1 by going behind it, scrolling mouse wheel for action menu, choosing Ride in back and after that I could switch to any position, driver, gunner or commander too. Another player tried the same in single player and never managed to do it. So my conclusion is, there is something different in coop and SP when it comes to that. Even in coop this method only works for some vehiles like BRDM-2, BMP-2, AAV7A1. But not for M1A2 Tusk or Shilka. Maybe because they have no back doors and they are only entered from top hatches.) Sorry if I confused two different things, but capturing abandoned enemy vehicles should always work in both coop and SP if the vehicle is not locked as stationary. Taking over frindly vehicles is another thing that works different in coop and SP.
  2. I've seen many posts with more experienced Arma series players saying ACE and other mods often (but not always) conflict with official missions. IMO using mods with official missions equals to cheating anyway, because they just change too many things stirring up in programmed difficulty balance. For example with improved healing functions. But if you want to keep playing missions like Freedom Fighters (that are buggy even without mods) with ACE, its ofcourse your own decision. Good luck.
  3. Promblem sounds weird, but when people report issues here they very rarely tell us what patch they use or if they have mods installed. I suspect this issue is because old patch or installed mods. Yes. I used that method in Badlans too. Took first 2 towns with AI troops and moved between last 2 towns (Novy Sobor and Stary Sobor), with HQ APC and transformed it as HQ building there. That way it was easy just spawn APCs there and conquer both towns. In Dogs Of War it is not possible since HQ is already ready when mission starts. There is so much to do in Dogs Of War that I always start with AI commander but at some point of the mission go to talk to him and told him I want to take command for awhile. Someone said you can also switch AI commander on/off in server settings using vote function. Is there a mobile HQ APC in Freedom Fighters?
  4. OMAC is right. But if the problem persists please let us know what patch are you using. BTW. OMAC I managed to reproduce "Can't reinforce. Gro."-message in Dogs Of War after I had all towns captured and lots of vehicles around. So that message only appears when you have too many vehicles and aircraft in total. Even when I had this message when trying to buy a helicopter, I still manages to buy soldiers. Also I had tested earier that I could not get that message after buying over 300 Crewman (same type of soldier). So I'm 99% sure the this message only comes because of too many vehicles and aircraft. Once some of your vehicles or aircraft gets destroyed you can again buy more without getting "Can't reinforce. Gro." Hopefully I got time to put this issue to CIT at some point, just because the text gets truncated in a silly way. It should say something like "Too many vehicles" instead.
  5. UAV control van is at GPS COORS 115040 very near the border of 114040 Approach by passing Shaftoe from left side and continue southeast past the armory covered by camouflage net. After camouflage net turn right to face south and go as close as possible to the rear of the van. Scroll your mouse wheel to open action menu and choose UAV You should see something like this.

I have hard time understanding why we are not getting any votes and more feedback for these issues. http://dev-heaven.net/issues/18491 Often more votes is better way to get developers attention than writing here since developers have no time to read all hundreds of posts written here daily. If a developer or you have marked issue to "Watch" state in CIT then you will get email message when anyone writes anything there and for those who have not set that issue to "Watch" state may still see the issue on main page list if it is bumped up every now and then (it will go up the list after each feedback). So basically post your feedback not only here but to CIT to get more attention. Currently this issue has 3 votes. So it is OMAC, Hanzu and someone else. Surely there are more people that are bothered by this issue...
  8. I have not installed 1.10 yet. I decided to wait until they integrate it to OA/CO 1.60 patch, but you can test this yourself by copying your whole gameprofile and renaming it for example to OMACtesting, then change player profile in main menu and then revert to One Week Later. This way you can do it without messing up your main profile and its campaign progress. Just do not forget to change profile back when you are about to play something else. --- By thinking previous issues in this mission that osprey has now caused much more bad in this mission than any good. Same osprey has also managed to kill one of my Razor Team members in Manhattan mission start a couple of times when I was not careful to what direction I start to run when we touch down.

    Outrageous! ;) Bardak surely can surprise and BIS should have implemented driver beeing able to lock car with keys. Anyway there goes my theory of him only using his own vehicles, but maybe it only happens if another vehicle is close enough for his "go back to the vehicle and drive away path". Another amazing Bardak experience! I also used UAV to find him and noticed Solnichy really has too many civilians. Finally when when I was about to give up and called Star Force 21 to pick me up to do air searching. I saw him under gas station roof. In map his icon was hidden because of very same roof. 2nd Ranger was this Bardak not surrendering bug with some old patch? So we could assume that is not going to happen again, if not, maybe there was a driver in that car who hit Bardak and made him to go into shock thus resulting him not to talk. ;)
  12. I had some savegame corruptions when I had WinXP 32bit and slowish HDD. After going to Win7 64 + SSD setup they pretty much stopped happening. Is it possible that you have slowish HDD that cannot write savegame data fast enough and makes it corrupt? Is is possible that you are not running as administrator and have no full control for folders where saves are stored? Are your savegames located here: C:\Users\YourProfileName\Documents\ArmA 2 or here C:\Users\YourProfileName\Documents\ArmA 2 Other Profiles Also what we could do would be to test if your savegame would load in my system or if my savegame would load in your system...
  13. Just making sure you know if you are trying to load any saves that are from previous patch version they are incompatible.     Could you share a little more please. I didn't get what is this "it" Bardak was running for? In all cases he will start to run when you approach him. That does not mean he is still trying to get to border. I think his scripted path will cancel once he loses his original vehicle. Ofcourse if someone will proves otherwise, I'm happy to hear about it. Hmm... Lopotev's escape (which we cannot affect) happens only in radiomessage in Razor Two mission and next mission is One Week Later. I have hard time to believe Bardak or any enemies are present in that little mission. Yes he drives either that red car or redblue car. There is one character you can talk to in mission start to know which one he uses.
  15. Make sure you don't have programs like Acronis Drive Monitor, other S.M.A.R.T. programs or anything that affects HDD/SDD routines running while game is on. Acronis Drive Monitor made my save/load to malfunction.

    Actually yes you are right there is no spawn in Razor Two mission and in Manhattan mission Dr. Sova's fate cannot be changed and he is not important, but the fact there is characters that do not exits when mission starts and will spawn later a fact. I meant those CDF military police officers really how they make their first appearance. Yes and no. He will try to escape from you, but not from Chernarus anymore so there is no timelimit. Think it this way. Bardak has no idea where Razor Team is after he has run away from there, so to avoid capture he stays inside closest open structure gas station, barn or whatever. So you cannot see him from helicopter either. Also if he would try to border without car, he could be shot by NAPA men patrolling with hunting rifles. So it's actually quite realistic that he tries to hide to avoid capture. Bardak does not use other vehicles. So once he loses his own there is no danger that he would board other vehicles found around. Example of the process: Approaching Bardak at Solnichy Quarry resulting TASK ACCOMPLISHED: Find/capture Bardak. Letting him run away and going to collect evidence on the other side of the map. He actually ran to south of Solnichy after above screenshot to get to the other side of that fence I guess. Multiple minutes later I got everyting ready and started to re-find Bardak from where I last saw him. Found him standing in gas station north of Solnichy so he ran about 1 km away from Quarry. In the screenshot you see he has not yet noticed me approaching. Notice the golden AKS :) Running after Bardak to trigger more dialog and his automatic surrender. After some dialog and Razor Team automatically wounding Bardak and making him roll in the ground resulting TASK ACCOMPLISHED: Find Evidence. See also top right corner Evidence gathered: 4/4 After that mission ends to Flawless Victory meaning there is nothing that could have been done better. Lopotev is just a red herring and he is not physically in map. So he cannot be captured or killed. Objective/task Find & capture Loptev will stay grey status. There will not be that message about Lopotev once you manage to get TASK ACCOMPLISHED: Find/capture Bardak That message actually has nothing to do with Lopotev it happens when Bardak in car is passing some point south of Gorka from where he usually gets to russian border in 5-20 minutes depending on his driving skills and other traffic. Even after that he can crash into a tree and just sit there inside his car forever. So when message about Lopotev comes it is not an automatic mission end counter, it is just a warning about Bardak's moving to border. Yes there is Shilka in Novy Sobor and T-72 in Stary Sobor. If you really want to fight them use UAV's missiles or take RPG's from Lesnoy Kheber enemy tent camp and shoot them amazingly from about 900m away. Once you hit even close crew will jump out. Also at GPS COORS 103098 you can sometimes see friendly AV7 where you can jump in, but it is a slow mover in this big mission.

    Arma2 characters do not talk when they are inside vehicles. You should have reversed your vehicle and let him drive and follow his car. In some of the places he visits he will get out of car for some minutes for example in Solnichy Quarry. There you can shoot 3 enemies in quarry and shoot tires of Bardak's car and then go to trigger Bardak to talk, but not run after him when he starts to run. By doing this you will remove time limit from the mission because Bardak will not try to escape north anymore, not even by walking or running. He will just search closest open structure or building where he will hide inside forever and now you can go and do that other stuff like collecting 3 evidences before going near Bardak again and capturing him to get all 4 evidences. No it is not a bug. It may be poor design for us that want to collect all evidence and complete every objective possible, but it is also a challenge for your mind and strategy. Yes there is such thing as spawn. For example in Manhattan mission when Dr. Sova gets lynched. His hanged corpse will just appear on a tree and at same second CDF military police will just spawn to investigate this. I even cut that tree down with APC and parked vehicles to place where CDF military police UAZ spawns, but you know what that UAZ spawned inside and over my vehicles. Dr. Sova cropse spawned partly inside my APC and hanging rope was hanging from the sky. If that is not spawn what is it? There is no timelimit after you talk to Bardak but do not go after him. I played this mission for hours and hours and then went to touch Bardak to end mission. Buddy your terms are confusing me... :) You say level and you mean mission you say mission and you mean objective/task Yea I know what you mean there are bunch of posts from 2009 from those noobs that ran into Bardak early, but developer Yezuro said in one post about this not all evidence is required for best possible campaign ending so that is why the made it this way. The first time I completed Harvest Red campaign I missed atleast 5 pieces of evidences. The next time I got 100% of evidence and same ending and flawless victory. When you see red VW Golf IV look-alike or redblue old Skoda driving that is Bardak. Just move off the road and let him go or follow him from distance to get timelimit stopped. You seem to have sources where you read but seem to miss reading newer posts about same things. :) http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=118793 Best tip I can give is to ALT+TAB and copy your campaign folder every 30mins. If mission ends early or other things go wrong like corrupted savegame. Than you just delete campaign folder and move the copy to this place.

  20. When destroying Chedaki base. Attack with T-72 from east, switch to gunner, zoom in with plus key and start to hammer HQ with sabot rounds from the distance. Stay behind tree line which will protect you from some enemy rockets. After that destroy two other buildings to get confirmation that enemy is wiped out. Each building takes about 5-20 hits before destruction depending on ammunition used. Try to maintain hull down position by using the hill you just climbed up from east. If you are skilled and lucky you could drive there with fast vehicle plant a satchel, drive away and blow up HQ. Some of you could use assault helicopter too, but to get helipad takes so much money and time that enemy has got much stronger by that time.

  22. Adding better timestap to .rpt file when crash happens could make stability tests easier. Not all of us have time to play daily so we could for example leave Arma2 run over night with some -malloc value and see in the morning by looking timestamp when crash happened and this way test what -malloc value seems to be the best for our specs. The way .rpt files log now is not really useful since you do not know if it crashed 10 mins ago or 10 hours ago. Also stuff gets logged in .rpt file until you click OK in possible error message box. That is one useless feature IMO. Looping function for benchmark(s) would be good too. Preferably with counter for loops and output ascii file with data in case of crashes.

  24. I have always kept friendly AI and enemy AI skill to Expert default 1.00 to keep it fair, but I also turned on additional Super AI difficulty setting on Expert difficulty. I do not consider it too hard, but maybe someone else would. Enemy AI machinegunners gunners are unrealistically accurate and fast to spot you if you are on foot, but it never bothers me since I move in superior vehicles to take them out. Anyway it's a fair trade when I have more situational awareness than them. See my difficulty setting table to see what defaults each Difficulty setting have.
  25. Destroy Chedaki base east of Msta village to complete the mission. Delivering Loptev and Destroying Chedaki base can be done in any order, but both are required. I usually Destroy Chedaki base as soon as possible to stop new Chedaki units from spawning so CDF and NAPA will crush remaining enemy units wandering around faster. Lopotev can wait.
