Capturing all towns is not required for best possible mission ending and Flawless Victory status, but you can capture as many as you want and let NAPA capture others. Captured town objectives are not listed in Debriefing. Only the one that is assigned to you when mission ends is visible in Debriefing so ideally if you (and NAPA) complete all towns before ending the mission then Debriefing is missing Capture <townname> objective(s). Where to start: Capture Chernogorsk first to get USMC back in case you have collected enough evidence in previous missions. Then you could do this: (do not click on spoiler tag if you don't want to know)

Not sure if it is normal, but same thing happened to me both times I completed Dogs Of War. The last completion was with 1.59 beta patch. So if it is a bug, it is an old one and it is not fixed on CO side either. However I'm sure they have no important information that would be needed to hear from them to get the best possible ending for the mission, since I got Flawless Victory status without talking to them about anything but weather. Ofcourse CDF commander didn't mention when to talk to them, so there might be some situation between objectives that they might tell you something if you just go through all the trouble to visit HQ every now and then. In Dogs Of War mission there are some parallel information, for example you will hear from Lopotev location both from USMC HQ and from Chedaki POW. Even if you have heard about it from one, Razor will listen and react like they never heard about it before.

I use satchel in that mission by scrolling mouse wheel and choosing Place Satchel. Then I drive away and while driving scroll mouse again and choose Detonate Satchel. If you have any mods like ACE running, it is know reason for Satchels not to work normally. My best advice is do not use any mods when playing official missions! If you do not believe me, believe others with more experience. See this post.

Thank you Jezuro, just a simple sentence from you always clears so much. I've never actually met this Pepan guy since I always thought Vysnoye filled with hostiles like Novy and Stary in that mission. Also since I always play on Combined Operations side I got bored about the fact that so many civilians and military personnel refused to talk to me. For example Ogilech and those 4 marines that are standing in one of the red X markers. They never talk anything. Actually the only ones I could discuss with were: Cpt. Shaftoe Cpt. Dressler Ltn. Marny man in front of power plant gate one of the many Solnichy villagers Bardak I wonder if this is because I meet those persons in wrong order (I mean I already got same info they would share from somewhere else) or is this still related to bugs in communication between Arma2 and Operation Arrowhead. Zipper5 sent me the list in this post. http://forums.bistudio.com/showpost.php?p=1865694&postcount=227 But like Jakerod said, it is just filenames extracted from pbo-files. Handgrenades in Arma2 are really risky and ackward to use compared to pretty much all games I have played, but well we could call it realism. That NW hill is easiest to kill by driving APC anticlockwise until you are in downhill northwest of that hill. Then turning cannon southeast to point to the hill with tents and making some noise they all attack or flee to you one by one. Its the best visibility from there and I didn't even have to visit the hill at all. With a little bit of luck when those enemies are still prone they can be eliminated by hitting tree trunks and blasting explosions to them. -
Problem with mission 'Manhatten '
Hanzu replied to stinger_p's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - OFFICIAL MISSIONS
Harvest Red campaign does not include such, but Operation Arrowhead campaign has some missions like that where it is required to use gunship or main battle tanks. -
Oh yea. Dialog includes that one question, you need to answer, so it may keep running longer if question is unanswered. sharptoe, lol... I need to memorize that as a joke when talking about Cpt. Shaftoe Happy to help.

NW hill sentry camp is the only one I have once seen cleared by AI friendlies, before I got there it was already marked with that bright green circle and all enemies there were dead. Maybe some helicopter work again or those Humwee patrols that drive around in that area. NE Ostry hill sentry camp is toughest one because enemies lie down in the top between tents and steep hill makes it hard to lower APC cannon enough to hit anyhing. I usually clear it because Dr. Sova mentions that camp in discussion (making it a little more meaninfull that other camps). C0 - First to Fight C1 - Into the Storm I1 - Amphibious Assault C2 - Harvest Red C2B - Razor Two I2 - One Week Later C3 - Manhattan C4 - Bitter Chill I3 - Delaying the Bear C5 & C5B - Badlands C6 & C6B - Dogs of War C7A - War That Never Was C7B - Setting Sail C7C - Missing In Action C7D - Revelation C7EF - Newborn Republic The letter "I" means maybe introduction or something like that since it used in those missions that are basically just transports between real missions. I may be those missions were designed after C missions were done. Just to fill out the caps in plot. Just a wild guess. This one was something that I never understood: "* Fixed: C2 - Pepan is not at the pump." Who is Pepan and what pump in Razor Two. No idea. -
UAV control car is at GPS COORDS 088130. There are dish antenna and TV-like antenna over it, barrels around it. Soldier with name Simon McGregor stands next to it. It can be accessed from any direction by scrolling mouse wheel, but only after start dialog has stopped (about 5 minutes after mission start). Even when UAV is destroyed it should let you access UAV and give you message UAV destroyed or something like that. In multiplayer only the host player can access UAV. If it still does not work for you, make sure you do not have any mods for example ACE running and then try again. If still no luck, let us know what patch version you are using.

Escort Antonia Lagushina to drop off point
Hanzu replied to steverido's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - OFFICIAL MISSIONS
Yes. When Lagushina is escorted to LZ. Hind heads there and if there is AA Specialist alive on that route, it may shoot Hind down. Every sentry point (all 6 of them including 4 that are required to be cleared) have one AA Specialist. So it is less risky to clear them first to make path for Hind. Hind seems to take-off and/or land in Krasnostav airstrip and same goes with transport helicopter. In this picture you see CDF Transport Helicopter, CDF assault helicopter and USMC transport helicopter on top right is FOB Manhattan hill. Why and when they return to Kransnostav airstrip is probably when they get too much damage or are low on fuel. Once I have seen Hind pilots stand outside it. So they may get shot by enemy footpatrols that are having their partisan activity around Kransnostav airstrip. So in that case Hind actully is undamaged but does not come because of no pilots. -
Problem with mission 'Manhatten '
Hanzu replied to stinger_p's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - OFFICIAL MISSIONS
No I'm not sure. Unfortunately I have not make good enough notes to give accurate info which ones are required, but what I'm sure is that there are many objectives that are not required to be accomplished for mission to end to success. Try completing Search Gorga objective. It is an easy one anyway and now that I rethink it must be one of those that are required since it affects how NAPA treats you in following missions. It is also one of those that are mentioned in mission Briefing->Notes->Mission section when objective names have not been revealed yet. So it may be one of the first and/or important ones that were designed for this mission. Report Cpt. Shaftoe objective can be completed in the start when you exit aircraft, but there is a time limit, so if you do not go there early enough that objective will be marked as cancelled. In the end same objective is available again with the exact same name. So yes it should pop up again if you completed it once in the start. -

Right on OMAC! This is something that should be documented in weirdest positive things on Arma2 official missions. :) I still do not know if that CDF Hind helicopter comes from Krasnostav airfield or from Chernogors area where one helicopter icon constantly hovers if you look with UAV, but the reason for it to not show up is usually the same. It has been flying long enough for enemy AA Specialist to shoot it down or damage it enough to make it emergency land somewhere. -
Dogs Of War objective Deal with Russians - is it possible before Transfer Lopotev?
Hanzu replied to Hanzu's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - OFFICIAL MISSIONS
Since zero feedback for a month. I reply myself on this. I tested this myself and after all towns were captured for friendly forces and there was nothing else to left undone than driving Lopotev to Russian roadblock (and Spetznaz ambush), I drove my armor near Russion base and tried to walk there peacefully and BANG! Russian armor took a shot at me. So the answer for my own question is no. What is also silly is that how close to Russian base it is possible to drive, knock some trees or other obstacles and still leave safely they will only shoot when you are really close to them. With all the variety of its aircraft and vehicles they did not really convince me beeing a real army unit guarding their camp and observing surroundings. -
Into The Storm - Why can't I do it?
Hanzu replied to readher's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - OFFICIAL MISSIONS
Good point. Battery should come with Laser Marker like, ammo clips come with weapon, but it is possible that readher dropped either one by accident when playing the mission for second time. Also see my edited message above for further theories. -
Into The Storm - Why can't I do it?
Hanzu replied to readher's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - OFFICIAL MISSIONS
Possible reasons for this are: 1) You say you decided to replay. Do not Replay. Choose Revert instead. It resests all the decisions and deletes savegames for that mission. I have bad experience in using Replay function. 2) By Miles comments it sounds like the second time you forgot to take or dropped either Laser Marker or Laser Marker Battery 3) If you are using mods weird bugs are very likely to happen 4) If you are playing this mission in multiplayer with a friend prepare to see some coop-only bugs. For me it has worked best with this plan: Gear->Take->Laser Marker Gear->Take->Laser Marker Battery Recon radio station 1 We'll do it! Direct the airstrike (will be cancelled by HQ after choosing 1 We'll do it!) Save prisoner Plant satchel charges and detonate! 1 Yes. I'll help. 2 Hey, easy, easy. Relax... Save female prisoner Regroup at point Liquid (there is time or area limit in this one, so do not walk pass it!) Escort Dr. Sova Escort Valentina Galkina Find evidence (Evidence gathered: 3/3) [escorted Dr. Josef Sova, escorted Valantina Galantina, found the massgrave] Go to the exfiltration point 1 I want some more action! Gain observation point Designate targets Destroy the house (and some enemy infantry standing next to it) Destroy covered armor (stationary one under camouflage net) Destroy the tank (moving one) Mission will end correctly only if the last 3 objectives are compelted in the right order. First the house, then covered armor and then moving armor. This is just because of bad mission design. They should have made it work. No matter in what order those 3 targets are missiled. For Man1 I would like to say OMAC is right absolutely bad idea to use mods like ACE when playing official missions. In this case the main reason for this is that ACE uses satchels differently. -

If you read this, I don't have to write so much: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=73481&highlight=UAV To conclude using UAV to destroy targets is harder than using Javelin and SMAW missiles found in FOB Manhattan armory, Artillery Support, Boomerang assist or cannons of any of the 3 APCs available around. -
Escort Antonia Lagushina to drop off point
Hanzu replied to steverido's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - OFFICIAL MISSIONS
It sometimes takes a while for Lagushina to realize you have got out of vehicle and it works best if you get out first and leave Razor Team still in. So maybe all you would have had to do was to wait longer. Near LZ when seeing CDF helicopter she might also exit and run automatically if you are close enough and sometimes this happens so fast you fail to notice it. When boarding vehicles also order Razor Team to get in first and only after that get in yourself and this way Lagushina enters vehicles best. Same goes for Dogs Of War mission POW and Lopotev. Never heard there would be any benefit for taking Lagushina to FOB Manhattan. It is CDF hind helicopter that comes to get her and they want the evidence she has. So USMC does not care about her or the evidence. -
Problem with mission 'Manhatten '
Hanzu replied to stinger_p's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - OFFICIAL MISSIONS
Read this to learn more: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=109847 And yes it is a bug that used to happen even more often before they fixed it a little, but it still happends. Use UAV to check where enemy main base is and order Artillery strike there just by clicking the camp coordinated in the map. The more early use use artillery the less likely it is to bug. BTW. Artillery in this mission is actually shown as a ship in far east, so it would be only realistic that it would move away out of range if Razor Team is not utilizing it early enough. Also UAV should be used early, because the longer it flies around, the more damage it will get to its hull by random enemy fire. It may also crash to hills or trees if you streer it too recklessly. -
Problem with mission 'Manhatten '
Hanzu replied to stinger_p's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - OFFICIAL MISSIONS
In my country every man have to go through military service or civilian service. I myself served in airforce as a team leader for medics. In US terms my rank would be probably something between corporal and sergeant. Once you have completed following objectives Insurgent main base Insurgent sentry posts you should be able to end the mission just by going to Cpt. Shaftoe which will fill objective Report to Cpt. Shaftoe (for the second time) I have a habit of playing nothing but Expert difficulty and doing all non-must objectives too, so with that Manhattan takes about 5 hours to complete. -
Problem with mission 'Manhatten '
Hanzu replied to stinger_p's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - OFFICIAL MISSIONS
1.10 patch is released already almost a month ago. Why not use that. Even better would be to get Arma2 Operation Arrowhead and install it to Arma2 folder to make it Arma 2 Combined Operations and play this mission with 1.59 patch or latest 1.59 beta. This is normal for real life and Arma2. Get used to it if you want to play. It very realistic something goes wrong in military operations, since the other side is enemy which is not cooperating with your plans. Both of these objectives are secondary and not required to complete Manhattan mission. Lagushina may be killed by Chedaki patrol sometimes passing though Kransnostav or ran over by other villagers that occasionally board vehicles and drive around or USMC vehicles that also use main road of Kransnostav. This is not really a bug, it is just a part of complex mission where things may go wrong if you do not plan well and complete objectives that are likely to be failed by unxepected factors first. If you really have trouble arresting Lagushina alive, then immediately after mission starts drive through Krasnostav to Gvosdno and you should be able to stop to force her car offroad and make her exit car before she reaches Krasnostav. I've done that once, but it will cost you the first objective "Reporting to Cpt. Shaftoe" to be cancelled because there is a timelimit in that one. There is a thread about this in the main page of this sub-forum. Objective Arrest Nikolayev http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=121934 Again there is a post about this in the main page of this sub-forum. Manhattan UAV http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=121795 BTW. Mission name is Manhattan not Manhatten. This is second time I see someone here mistyping that and that makes me thing if Manhattan, New York is really written like that in some language. Anyway it is important to write mission names correctly so forum search engine will find them later on. There is edit message function in bottom right corner of your message, so you could still correct those typing errors. Click "Go Advanced" to edit message title. Also it is Lagusnina not ligoshina. :) -
Speak for yourself and not for all. I do not feel ripped off, maybe because I'm never-give-up-type of person and have completed Harvest Red two times with recent patches. I agree BIS should give more attention to official missions and still keep fixing them since they are the thing most people play first after they buy the game and if they are disappointed too much they may abandon the game just because of pure demand for quality and I understand that. However making non-detailed statements like "this is still totally bugged, especially at Lopotev" is nowhere near helpful. For me capturing and delivering Lopotev to Russians was not buggy at all just two weeks ago when I completed Dogs Of War. Believe me I have gone through experienced lot of bugs. So many that I have not got the time to make CIT reports for all of them, but I have always found a workaround. For those who have not sold their BIS games I want to say. You can still change things. BIS will repair things we demand most, but we need to be detailed when describing bugs, we need to report them to CIT or vote and comment reports made by someone else. If all people who have had experienced bugs and wrote about them here in official missions we would have 100+ votes for each official mission bug and certainly they would be boosted in priority.

What patch are you using? Are you using any mods? I just re-completed Dogs Of War last week with 1.59.81921 beta patch. No mods ofcourse. Here is how it went for me: 1) Ordered razors 2, 3 and 4 to Get In 2) Went in myself 3) Lopotev got in after about 1 minute delay 4) Helicopter flies near HQ The only bug I noticed is that when you order Razors to get it you order them to board that Mi-8 and when you get in yourself you get in Mi-17 Civilian. You could also try to enter helicopter first to see Razors and Lopotev gets in automatically like they did when I completed this mission for the first time with 1.57.77159 patch. Also you could order Razors to get in first and see what parts of the helicopters they get in. After this position yourself and Lopotev to assumed to the side of the helicopter where only one Razor got in. So Lopotev will not have to run to the other side of the helicopter which might make it more likely to bug. If it still does not work for you try with latest beta patch. AI and helicopter pilot AI have been tweaked quite a lot lately. If problem persists, comment here with patch version and specs and ask moderators to re-open old bug issue ticket. http://dev-heaven.net/issues/7478

Game keeper?! Never heard of it. You need to find weapon smuggler a.k.a. gun runner, eliminate him and search his body. If this is not done, Safehouse objective is not assigned and you find nothing there but enemies. That is right. Door looks like this. Probably because: 1) Old bugs on old patch 2) Did not search weapon smuggler body first 3) Wrong door 4) Wrong house I think he is confusing two different missions. In Bitter Chill enemy will pick up evidence from Spukayev's house if you do not go there before first 10 minutes. Absolutely not. This (secondary) objective is not even required for mission to complete. Also I doubt there is no time limit or enemy taking evidence. The first time I completed this objective hostiles around house were already eliminated by some other group and still I was able to search the house. The second time I completed this objective hostiles were still alive and eliminated them with APC and then searched the house to get the second evidence.

PMC Mission 3: Confirmation help

My best advice is to turn off mods and restart that mission. Reverting in that mission should onlt erase your gamesaves and progress for that mission and not the progress for campaign. -
PMC Mission 3: Confirmation help
Hanzu replied to mandaloin's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - OFFICIAL MISSIONS
Any mods on? In PMC V1.00 setting satchels in this mission bugged... http://dev-heaven.net/issues/15526 ...so it is more likely to still be have compatibility issues with mods. -
You are not stuck since that objective is not required for mission completion, but if you really want to complete all objective this is the best you have: All objectives that can be completed (picture 1) All objectives that can be completed (picture 2) Arrest Nikolayev objective is supposed to be cancelled by HQ. The man you shot is the only hostile villager there and he is supposed to blow up Nikolayev's house and Nikolayev inside it. Normally that happens when you are still 50 meters away from the house and when you get there house is ruined, Nikolayev dead and hostile villager with a pistol is lurking somewhere behind houses. I'm amazed how you got there without him automatically blowing up the house. I tried that many times from all directions. Leaves me with a bunch of questions: http://dev-heaven.net/issues/12248 What patch were you using? Were you using mods? From what direction you approached Khelm village? Did you stand, crouch or crawl there? How early was this in mission?
