    High Command instructions?

    1. Its impossible or just too complicated, they say. Never considered it to be an important thing. At least in Dogs Of War you can decice not to be the commander an in that way all build units will not come as an extension for Razor Team. 2. No idea. 3. In Badlands we also lost original weapons for 2 reasons: When entering "Buy Weapons" menu and buying nothing you lose your weapons. Consider it as a bug. When holding some postion (if I remember correctly it was a gunner position) inside a vehicle (for example BRDM-2) and savegaming, next time you load you have AK-47 of whatever even though you had US-army weapon before. Consider it as a bug too.

  3. Yes, like said, you are playing Arma 2 Only so you cannot use 1.57 patch which is for Operation Arrowead and for Combined Operations (A2+OA install). But assuming you would have Operation Arrowhead and could patch, it would not require to restart the entire campaign. Patching will keep your campaign progress (decisions and completed tasks you have made and list of unlocked missions). After patching it is only required to restart the mission you are currently on and which you want to play next.

    ARMA 2: OA beta build 77159

    Me and 3 others installed 1.57.77159 and restarted Harvest Red Dogs Of War Mission. Only to run into same problems that we had with 1.57.70077. If I start mission and play it alone, everything is fine, but almost every time someone joins or we load savegame (which equals joining), one or two of the Razor Team character face icons in the bottom left corner disappear, the human player reports to be spawned as something else than the character he chose when joining and the game will end in about 10 seconds (because the game assumes one of the Razor Team character is dead). Once we were operating two vehicles with 3 human players and one AI teammate. Me as T-72 driver, the second player as T-72 gunner, the third player as Shilka driver and AI teammate as Shilka gunner. We drove 5 km away from HQ and I used savegame to make sure we would not have to drive that 5km again if something goes wrong. Well it was a mistake. Never use savegame when you are inside a vehicle that was build in Warfare mode or anything may happen when you need to load that savegame. Eventually one of us died and we had to use that savegame. What happened next was T-72 disappearing completely like it never existed leaving me and one other player 5km away from HQ. Other 2 players who were inside Shilka were teleported to HQ and their vehicle was left Empty next to us. So we lost 5000$ T-72 and 2 members of our team got teleported 5km away. Not a progress we wanted when loading that savegame. This sounds like savegame is not including data for some player positions inside some vehicles and so the game gets confused and decides to place them to mission start location which in this case is HQ. After that we played like 2 hours and I had to load each savegame 1-3 times before all 4 characters managed to spawn as Razor Team members. Not only human players got spawned in a wrong way but also AI teammembers got spawned incorrectly to wrong team, when just a 2 of us humans were playing and 2 characters were controlled by AI, same thing also happened 2 of 4 face icons disappeared and human player reported he has different weapon, different uniform and different position. Again the first symptom was face icons disappearing. This problem happened about 8 times during our gamesession. So it is not savegame that is corrupted because it will load correctly if you keep trying and trying. There must be something wrong in the game putting Razor Team members when there are multiple factions working as allies (CDF, NAPA, USMC...). Razor Team members disappearing or spawning to wrong teams was not the only problem we had. Dogs Of War mission was also very instable causing total of 6 game crashes including two old "Out Of Memory"-errors I have not seen since 1.55 patch. I moved all .RPT files and crash dumps to separate folders, I have savegames, screenshots of face icons disappearing. So if I go through the trouble of making CIT ticket or multiple tickets for these issues any chance these problems are looked into? I know it is not so common anymore that someone still playing Harvest Red campaign in multiplayer cooperative with the latest patch builds, but I think it would be to everyones advantage if the game would still work with official missions and playing them in multiplayer cooperative should not be overlooked - it is great fun when it works! Two positive things I must say about this build is that those three USMC helicopters move nicely in formation without crashing to mountains, so good work with all that helicopter pilot AI tweaking. Another positive thing is that the game did not seem to crash to nonowner errors like it used to do with earlier build.
  5. I completed Badlands with 1.57 and never saw something like that. Although I saw and reported some other Badlands related bugs: http://dev-heaven.net/issues/16169 http://dev-heaven.net/issues/16162 http://dev-heaven.net/issues/16161 I think Badlands can be completed even without building HQ or anything. Just sneak behind all 4 main bunkers in all 4 towns. It does not matter if some enemies will be left behind. Mission will complete even with leaving enemies in town, but if they re-conquer the main bunker, you need to re-conquer it back, so the slowest part is to move between towns. I also build a bunch of empty trucks around the main bunkers making it hard for enemy to get through them to reach the bunkers. Please post what is the exact version you used in this mission and verify that you are NOT using any mods. You can see all the patch numbers in the main screen bottom right. Like this 1.57.77159.
  6. I wonder how the developers find these kind of so called sometimes-bugs when nobody has reported them in CIT (but instead there are 810 open bugs to be resolved, including some duplicates ofcourse).:(

  8. [76997] Fixed: lip-sync in EW campaign and in MP while client using VON. MP lip-sync looks nice. Great! Thanks! With this build Harvest Red campaign Dogs Of War mission seems to be pretty much impossible to be played in multiplayer. If I start mission and play it alone, everything is fine, but as soon as someone joins, the Razor Team character he takes in control starts to bug and the host will see that Razor Team face icon belonging to that character will disappear from bottom left corner. We also tried with just 2 players and could not get it to work. Since there is no character icon for the host, the game also ends in about 5-10 seconds because the game thinks one of Razor Team members is dead, so there is only few seconds to bughunt and see write a proper report what is really going on. Also the human players report in voice to be in totally different place where the host sees them. When all this happens. The game also reports guerrillas breaking alliance with BLUEFOR, which in my opinion is a result of the game confusing teams when human players joins. Normally there are no situations in Harvest Red campaign that any of the Razor Team faceicons will disappear not even when they die and the game is about to be end failed, so this is not normal at all. I am not using any mods and same goes to those friends who tried to play Dogs Of War with me. I also want to add that even though when you have reverted and restarted the mission totally you have pretty 50% chance that Dogs Of War mission starts without the start dialog where you are located in front of CDF commander and listen who lets you to decide if you want to take Commander role or not. So you will sometimes insted just start in the fields of that base and this is not loaded from gamesave, I have reverted and restarted all the way from Harvest Red mission selection list several times. With this very same build we played and completed four separate COOP missions, one mission from Operation Arrowhead campaign and one mission from Operation Black Gauntlet campaign, so these problems seem to affect only Harvest Red and maybe only Dogs Of War mission.   9. caprabb said he started on CDF side so NAPA agent, dead or alive, has to be somewhere else than in Novy Sobor since it must be the only town in enemy control assuming caprabb has conquered Pogorevka before Rogovo and Stary Sobor. Meeting the NAPA agent is probably not important since it is optional, but if priest Fyodor=Priznak is alive when Badlands ends, then NAPA troops who he leads may cause problems in Dogs of War misssion by drawing russians into fight there. What kills NAPA agent. Yes like Ragnos said those crazy friendly trucks or that friendly tank which occasionally moves around (before enemy destroys it) may have killed NAPA agent because he is scripted to stand there and has no means to go away (I once saw that tank visiting HQ and stopping 15 meters away from NAPA agent).
  10. Ragnos is right, you need to clear the sourrounding area for all enemies and even empty enemy vehicles. Here are some coordinates which should check: Go to Black Mountain forest at GPS COORDS 100037 (enemy tent camps in treeline with about 5 enemies) Destroy UAZ vehicle that has grenade launcher first. Eliminate all enemies nearby the tent until autosave happens. Get RPGs and Snipers in the boxes located inside the tent if you need. Place them to your vehicles Gear-storage if no space for them). Go to Black Mountain forest at GPS COORDS 103039 (enemy tent camp in the forest with about 5 enemies). Approach from south to get the best visibility and keep the other bunch of enemies located northwest of this one to flank you. Machinegun enemies near tents and behind trees until autosave happens. Also if Insurgent main base is located in GPS COORDS 100021 and not in 088048. You may need to get enemies from there too. There is also a house in GPS COORDS 091043 (south of LZ). 3-5 enmies tried to attack me from there, but it could have been a random thing. I usually leave Escort contact to LZ-task just because it is easier to bring Lagushina when there are less enemies around.
  11. Seems like not too many knows the answer for this. Probably people spending their most of their forum time in scripting sub forum know this, but meanwihile my advice is to try with Expert difficulty (I always use it and nothing else). Pretty sure it is not about the patch version. Also it would be logical to offer SecOps for team that has completed other tasks in that mission with good results, I mean also do those tasks too that are optional so maybe they will offer SecOps when you are they know your can be trusted to complete them. To test if they are time triggered, leaving singleplayer mission running for a night might reveal this.
  12. Yes I understand totally. When mission is completed its saves are destroyed and replaced by saves for next mission. So to reproduce the bug you would have to revert to the previous mission. Because of this multiplayer campaign bugs are rarely reproduced for reports. Anyway could you please verify that you got Badlands completed with V1.57 by using ESC-SUSPEND-save method and that you could not use any other save method there? Manhattan is such a long mission and it has about 20 automatic save points so it is not a wonder that that same savefile that grows bigger and bigger during the mission can get corrupted. Although you said it happened with 1.05and back then corrupted savegames were much more common. For me corrupted savegames stopped happening after 1.55/1.08 and also saving routine started to work faster. But I still recommend this routine: Create somewhere a folder "Arma 2 Profile backups" and then move everything from there: C:\Documents and Settings\H\My Documents\ArmA 2 Other Profiles\ 2010.12.23 Badlands (three cities left to conquer) 2010.12.23 Badlands (two cities left to conquer) 2010.12.23 Badlands (one city left to conquer) 2010.12.30 Dogs Of War (after start animation) If something goes wrong in savegame then first delete the old profile folder and just copy one of those backups back to replace it.

To avoid running into him too soon may be avoided by using helicopter transport or driving vehicles offroad enough.
  14. Taken from my (still in complete) walkthrough: Task: Collect Evidence: On Solnicniy quarry at GPS COORS 132092 there are 3 enemies. Climb to the east side of the quarry and eliminate all enemies from there. The enemy with light colored pants who is closest to the building is carrying Dog Tags evidence which will be dropped 1 meter away from his feet. Point to the grass all around the corpse feet until green text "Take Dogtags" appears. --- It is important to kill those enemies with one coordinated attack before they move. Otherwise the man carrying the dogtags and the dogtags he drops can be in different place. I never saw how Dogtags looked like in the ground because of all that grass. Switch to pistol and just point it to the ground and search patiently near the feet of that corpse until green text appears to pick it up. If nothing else works. Order one of your AI controlled team mates to search for Dogtags with number 6 key. He will not pick it up, but will run very close to it and just stand there like a marking the spot for you.

If by multiuser you mean multiplayer cooperative, you probably have same bug I just reported 7 days ago: http://dev-heaven.net/issues/16205 As you can see this bug is still in Feedback status meaning they do not have time to reproduce it or they just do not believe it is a real bug. But I first ran into it with in V1.54 Manhattan multiplayer and now in V1.57 Badlands multiplayer. In singleplayer is does not exist. So please verify if you have the same bug so I can pass the information on that I'm not the only one with whom this bug happens. Workaround for your problem is to press ESC and choose SUSPEND when you are in a position where you want to save. It will save and exit game. Then choose resume and it will load the save that was created before you exited. Use only that save method and remember automatic "Saving game. Please wait."-saves cannot be loaded if you have used SUSPEND-save even once during Badlands-mission.

    An Arma 2 questionnaire

    1. Regularly just once per week roughly 7 hours total. 2. Combined Operations only now. Later BAF and PFC. 3. No. 4. Fraps, Xfire, 5.1 CH headphones, TrackIR4:PRO and Track Clip PRO, forcefeedback joystick and wheel. 5. Multiplayer cooperative only. 6. I only host. No time to join other servers. 7. Squad Leader. I hate bugs that show themself only in multiplayer cooperative.
  17. If missions will not end in co-op. Tell your friends to disconnect and reload last save before assumed end scene. I do not recommend using endmission cheat ever. It will destroy your mission specific decisions and tasks. You will also not know what ending it chose for that mission. Also there are some reports of it creating bugs for next mission (For example NAPA/CDF alliance suddenly breaking up and them shooting at you without apparent reason) These missions bugged and end animation did not trigger at all or was triggered but bugged, but when I told my friends to disconnect right before the last scene, these missions required special things to complete: Manhattan co-op (last completed with V1.54) client players should disconnect before you go to talk to Shaftoe for the last time. Otherwise mission player in co-op will end after animation, but without debriefing screen and the next mission will not be unlocked. Bitter Chill co-op (last completed with V1.55) client players should disconnect before you go you to CDF lines or to NAPA Safehouse after knowing the "password". http://dev-heaven.net/issues/15536 Delaying The Bear co-op (last completed with V1.56) client players should disconnect before you go you walk to Rendezvous point. (Also approaching Rendezvous point alone uphill from northside and leaving other players at least 50meters away may help here). Otherwise mission player in co-op will end after animation, but without debriefing screen and the next mission will not be unlocked. Badlands co-op (last completed with V1.57.76815) client players should disconnect before the fourth town main bunker is conquered. Client players can help to fight the way to the last bunker, but must leave before it is conquered. Otherwise no radiomessage and end animations will not come ever and the mission will not end. Dogs Of War co-op (not yet tested, but probably requires clients disconnect before the end just like in 4 missions before it).

SecOps are generated by Secondary Operations Module as a little side tasks in a campaign and correct me if I am wrong, but they only may exist if campaign is played in singleplayer mode and never if campaign is played cooperatively in multiplayer. I've also heard they usually happen around 400-500m away from player. So my advice would be in this case to avoid beeing near water when that task is triggered. Don't know what triggers it though, maybe time (see gameclock when it comes) or maybe it comes soon after some other task is completed like Insurgent Leader task. Anyone know about this better this?
  19. You said "after a save point", which I assume means after first using that save ie. loading it, right? When you start Badlands starts it asks if you want to be the commander or not. If you answer no, you may never see high command menu (not sure since I have never answered no there). Even though you may have decided to not to take high command and Razor Team command faceicons are normal. You may run into this bug which I have just ticketed. The bug always puts on high command after savegame. http://dev-heaven.net/issues/16161 So like Jezuro said you may be in high command mode which you may never seen. So just need to press CTRL+SPACE everytime after you load.

I get results always starting from the first post on page 1 even though there could be 15 pages of replies. So I need to browse through all 15 pages to find that one word? :mad: Any other way to do it or any improvement possible?

How many reported issues I need to become listed here as a reporter here: http://dev-heaven.net/projects/cis My reported issues is now 6 and I found atleast 10 people on that list that have reported only 0-4 issues. This is not a competition, but it would be nice to feel myself beeing part of the big project to make Arma 2 series even better.

So If I consider my information and reply significant and I am not in doubt at all, then I don't have to trouble myself which moderator I should ask for opinion and I can just be my own judge and post if I can assume it does not bother anyone, right? :) Bumping in such an active forum as this, is not a problem, since some stupid bumbed messages will move away from the first page and from your eyes pretty fast when new topics are coming at fast rate and newer topics still beeing discussed actively will get more replies. If I could decide, I would make and an exception for one sub-forum, since the only sub-forum where this rule makes no sence is "ArmA 2 & OA - OFFICIAL MISSIONS". No-one will ask "Any news?" in such a sub-forum.
