  1. I have the opposite problem; I like playing on open maps and when the Ambient Combat Module is active, the units sometimes disappear right when I'm looking at them and have already engaged them in combat. Now I use the quick scenario editor that gives you the 4 basic scenario options, but have no idea how to fix the scripting to keep the units spawned alive. Or is that even possible? I'm still quite the beginner as far as editing Arma2 CO missions.

    Mr Murray Editor Guide

I would pay for this guide as well. I dearly hope that the guide will be finished. : )
  3. A hello to all; I ran into something interesting with the ambient combat within Arma 2. Now I know that the ACM is supposed to 'clean' up extra units; is there a way to manipulate that in any way? In particular, to keep units around just a little bit longer? Or is this possibly a bug that I just happen to be running into? I'm asking because I ran into something interesting in a custom mission I made with the generic scenario editor provided: some units would spawn, fight it out with other spawned units, and then just randomly disappear, even after I had fired upon them. (On a side note- ambient combat was selected as 'high'. This was a simple mission with only a handful of initially placed units: a Marine 2-man sniper team, their target of 2 special forces, and the default two sets of 3 or 4 men at their waypoints. I've tried this on multiple maps and have the same results.) I guess it wouldn't be such an issue if they had disappeared in a forest, but in plain sight it really feels odd to see a fire team and supporting APC headed right for you, firing at you, and then the very next instant, they aren't there. Thank you for your time.
  4. I'd normally put my money on the gamers; they are already in their environment with playing on a computer. Ultimately I would think it comes down to how much experience the soldiers have with the software.
  5. Starcraft 2 is, in my opinion, a rather embarassing example of that.
  6. I'm happy for you. Seriously.
  7. Agreed. I stopped playing Team Fortress 2 when they came out with the "pay to win" patch. I used to be a Civ fan, but this latest one just lost the feeling of being Civ. I'm firmly against prepaying for extra content now. There's no arguing the value of what I get with BIS products; I feel like they run a very fairly priced model for their product and I will continue to support their DLC.
  8. I wish I could help out... but unfortunately I'm not well versed in scripting or programming.
  9. Are there any particular scripts to add to get it to work? I've tried adding it and even synchronizing it, but any time I test it out it looks the same.
  10. Bumping this topic to see how things are progressing... definitely looking forward to this!
