  1. Hey folks, Pretty new to scripting, so bear with me. I'm attempting to create a Switch Side module through script so that I am able to call it though a trigger rather than initialize it on mission start. The trigger is currently just for testing, in the future I will call it through a variety of conditions. This module should switch a specific group of civilians over to the resistance faction, so that they are then hostile to BLUFOR. Obviously, it's not working or I wouldn't be here :) In game, my debug_02 prints "side switched to: any" and my debug_03 prints "groups used: any". Beyond that, I honestly don't know enough (and can't find enough) to determine what would cause its failure. I'm using the code demo'd here as a template: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?136334-Activate-SecOps-via-trigger&p=2177571&viewfull=1#post2177571 createCenter resistance; _group = createGroup resistance; _allCiv = [civ_01,civ_02,civ_03];//defining civilians _switchSideGrp = createGroup civilian;//create group [_allCiv] joinSilent _switchsidegrp;//assign civs to group hint format ["objs in group: %1",_switchsidegrp];//debug_01 sleep 8; switchSide = _group createUnit ["BIS_fnc_moduleSwitchSide", [0,0,0], [], 0, "NONE"]; switchSide synchronizeObjectsAdd [_allCiv]; switchSide setVariable [_sideId,[3]]; switchSide setVariable [_groups,[_switchsidegrp]]; hint format ["side swithed to: %1", _sideId];//debug_02 sleep 8; hint format ["groups used: %1", _groups];//debug_03 sleep 8; waituntil {not (isnull switchSide)}; Full mission available here: brandonphoenixart.com/temp/sideSwitchFail_01.Stratis.zip All of this raises a few questions: 1. How do you determine a module's actual name so that you can call it? I referenced the module name in the function editor but have no idea if that might be correct. 2. How do you determine the names of the variables in the function that you would alter in the script? As is, I'm just using my best guess based on the function, but I have no good idea about how modules interact with A3 (as opposed to scripts or something else). 3. Should I use local variables rather than global for the module? How would I determine this in relation to interacting with modules? Any time or help would be much appreciated, thanks guys.

Ah, thanks. I am running these with Steam, and through that interface, it was visually unclear that I needed to play ArmA II CO as opposed to OA because CO does not exist in the games list and can only be played by right clicking on OA. Thanks for the heads up :)

Thanks WOlle. As I said, I have searched around but wasn't able to find a solution to this problem. Also as I said, I own, and have installed, ArmA II, so that should not be an issue. However, I purchased CO rather than each as a standalone, so perhaps that's the issue? Thanks again.

Hey guys, I've had these games for a while now, but almost all the maps in OA that I try to join give me the following error message. This is extremely frustrating because I can join very few games, and typically spend about one hour trying to find a server. I've searched around for answers, but haven't been able to find one. I've re-installed, OA, Arma II, BAF, and PMC, so nothing's helped. Would love to know a solution if it's available. "You cannot play/edit this mission; it is dependent on downloadable content that has been deleted.CAWheeled2_BTR90, warfare2vehicles" Thanks in advance for any help!

    Multiple MP issues

Yeah, I don't have one either. Where did you put it?

    Multiple MP issues

Thank you for your prompt replies. What's the best way to find good servers? From what I hear, seems that clan play is really the only way to go. If so, I'm not sure the best way to hook up with a clan. I've seen the list on the forums here, but I can't really tell what is up-to-date at this point. Just try my luck? Yeah, I wondered if the patch thing always showed up. Mic, Steam already installed Battleye for me. Since it updated, should I try again? Thanks again.
  8. Hey, I've recently purchased ARMA II CO on Steam, and I love the game when I'm able to play it. Unfortunately, when it comes to multiplayer, that is very rare, both in ARMA II and Operation Arrowhead, though for what seems to be different reasons. I would really, really appreciate some help here, since these issues are essentially making my purchase worthless. Also, I'm sorry if these are redundant issues, but I've searched around and found no answers, so please be patient with me. In ARMA II (I'm updated to 1.07), every time I enter the server browser, it says the patch is now available, even though I already have it. Then, whenever I try to join a server, it loads everything up just fine, and as soon as I'd be able to play, it kicks me back to the server browser, without any error message or indication that something is amiss. Obviously this it pretty prohibitive. In Operation Arrowhead, I'm currently at 1.54, but almost all servers are still at 1.52. Do I just have to wait until all the servers are updated? Are the patches really not backwards compatible? Any help would be much appreciated. I really enjoy this game, but it's often not worth the 1-2 hours it takes for me to find a suitable server. Thank you.
