  1. Wouldn't a modder have some degree of acceptance that at some point the game they are working on will be replaced by an improved version? Surely modders can't expect Arma 2 to last for time eternal?

More Simulation vs Amount of vehicles?

Lock On MAC has a decent array of aircraft without spoiling the simulation experience dramatically.
  3. Theoretically its every 2 years as they alternate between IW and Treyarch....however as they use the same tech everytime (and claim it to be their own) this point is relatively moot.

    They better have female soldiers...

My friend happens to be good looking and has fun slashing up Locust in Gears of War in co-op...

FN 2000s for the US military?

Fix'd, although honestly close enough. Has been rectified, and no need for the sarcasm. An honest mistake.

FN 2000s for the US military?

I think people missed the part where you're behind enemy lines in the Med which is relatively close to Western Europe which contains a country named Belgium in which the F2000 is made... Besides these are just early release promo screens, whats to say we don't have M4's? They just wouldn't get the attention like the F2000's and the TAR-21. As i keep saying, we know next to NOTHING about this game, just chillax and wait until something comes up thats worth getting up in arms about.

    They better have female soldiers...

Sorry, but looking at how popular the old arab guy face is as a character skin online, we're gonna see all female armies flooding the public servers.

    Units of measurement

Posted a dev-heaven ticket a while back, however with the announcement of Arma 3, i think the issue must be raised again. The issue is the units of measurement in relation to aircraft, which in the real world speed is measured by Knots and height in feet whereas in Arma 2 it is km/h and meters. However i do happen to know that many Arma players also play DCS, FSX or other flight sims in which knots and feet are the dominant unit of measurement, so we are already programmed to play with this unit. Allowing to change the unit of measurement simply as a menu option would greater increase immersion for a fair number of Arma players whose predominant area of gameplay in Arma is of course aviation. It would also decrease the amount of times i've stalled and crashed on approach in an A-10... PLEASE NOTE: I am not asking for complete conversion, i am simply asking for the option.

    Units of measurement

All i know is in every flight sim, in every reference to aviation i know off (which is alot) they use Kts/Ft and i'd like to have that option in Arma 3.

    ArmA3 Wishlist and Ideas

As has been stated you would do all this pre-mission. However considering the premise of A3 implies weapons on the run, this could be a addition as a narrative necessity rather than an authentic system. Put the IR pointer on one rail and the flashlight on the other?

    Units of measurement

Ok, i'll take a look, but friends of mine who work in the industry say they use kts/ft predominately if not exclusively. Hopefully i'll find out for myself next year or thereabouts Still, i'd like it as an option.

    Units of measurement

Strange friends who have DCS Warthog say the Ruskies and the French only use kmh/meters whereas the Hog use kts/ft. Everything in FSX uses kts/ft and i have it on relatively good authority that kts/ft are the worldwide standardized units of measurement for civil aviation. NOTE: I should point out that when i mentioned DCS i was indeed referring to DCS A-10 Warthog. My mistake if you based your reply on Black Shark. So long as its an option somewhere i don't care, i just want kts/ft.

More Simulation vs Amount of vehicles?

You don't have to keep banting on about the quality > quantity mantra, i get it. I'm just saying since its still RV they already have basic knowledge on how to make stuff in the game. I sincerely doubt that as a side effect of creating vehicles they're gonna go to a CoD style shooting mechanic. The core Arma realistic gameplay is not going away. Its just being improved upon.

    ArmA3 Wishlist and Ideas

M95 indeed. Well perhaps you would like to explain why it can't be an option or why it must be an addon? No one asked for it to become the bread and butter of the healing system, but to allow it as an option. The more stuff we can have in vanilla the better.

    Magic radar, plz fix.

I would assume this is going to be improved on since the Commanche has a stealth aspect.

More Simulation vs Amount of vehicles?

I do indeed prefer this option to pretty much all speculation on everything for now.

More Simulation vs Amount of vehicles?

A3 is an improved engine on A2, so my understanding is all the basic stuff is in there, only refined, allowing more time to work on vehicle models. And since this is Arma and not DCS, a 100% perfectly modeled cockpit is not strictly necessary. They also have a year to go and we really don't know how long they've been at work on it. There is still time to add a heap of things to the game.

    Stealth Kills?

What is wrong with a knife exactly? Script some animated stealth kills? I mean it is too fiddly to be required to pull it out of your gear (using changing weapon in A2 as a reference) but no where is it necessary to revert to the CoD insta kill sweep. The whole stealth kill system is based upon the AI not hearing your movement and raining hell down on you without so much as a whisper. The two are mutual, improved AI response, improved CQB handling.

More Simulation vs Amount of vehicles?

I'd like more vehicles and more simulation. I don't see how the two cancel each other out.

Realistic Wounds and treatment for ARMA 3

I don't get the fuss. You're all complaining about "clamping blood vessel and getting up and killing everyone", however this doesn't have to be in every mission you play, since it is obviously not built for Dom, Warfare or Insurgency. Perhaps once you've been hit mobility is reduced, aim is thrown or something that simply indicates you can't play as you were a minute ago. You'd use this in clan nights where extreme realism is the go. This does not mean the end of revive, i see this as simply another option that can be added to the game, and if it can be added at vanilla level there will be less conflicting issues with other mods that will certainly come down the pipeline. I also don't understand how different it is to current vanilla which constitutes of "kneeling over casualty, wave magical hands and hey presto, up and walking again", and I don't believe anyone here is of the belief that an absolute 100% realistic system where you die you never play the game again is a good thing, but this is simply an effort to increase complexity/immersion/realism to those who want it.
  24. Are we all aware that Arma 3 is a long way off still, that we don't know details of its inner workings yet and know nothing about mod conversion? Chillax guys, get worked up when you find something to really get upset over, like details.

    F/A-18 Super Hornet

My understanding of these pods was that they take the place of one of the AMRAAM slots to allow for an external fuel tank. I don't want to be a killjoy, but that placement just looks a bit wrong to me (not saying they CAN'T, its just not the norm) Keep up the good work.
