Greetings, i'm looking for some kind of recording software so I can upload some videos onto youtube. I've created (IMO) some decent missions on the in game editor and i'm wanting the idea of playing out a battle from different perspectives. For example, I have a basic helicopter insertion mission that was one of my first. Helicopters come in, get shot at as they come in, land, troops get out, take town etc. I've constantly built upon it, like added tanks to roll in half way through the battle, got D-30's on a hill that just fire as you land and it looks good. My idea for a video would be to play this battle as different people, so one I would play it as a standard rifleman, then maybe as a tank gunner, maybe as an enemy infantryman as he sees the troops being inserted. I'm looking for some decent recording software, (preferably free of course but I could pay a small fee) I've had a go with fraps and, as of now (not being how sure I am on doing this) im not going to pay the $37 to get the full version. So could anyone suggest some software to me, as I don't know where to look? Thanks. PS. Apologies if this is in the wrong area of the forum, I wasn't sure where else to put it.

No, I've heard of it though. Is it something like Punkbuster?

Greetings, It is not possible for me to join an online game. I have a perfect legitimate copy, which I bought last week and have been playing singleplayer and editor until now, I also have open NAT and all other online games work fine. But anything I try to connect to a game, I get to a screen where I select one unit and after downloading the mission file and pressing ok, I then get kicked out without explanation after a flash of the message "Waiting for host". Any thoughts?

Greetings Arma 2 people. While I play the Manhattan campaign, after I completed the first few objective the screen became fuzzy, all the screen apart from the HUD became fuzzy. Also, when a lot of things happen on screen, such as a battle, for long periods the screen can just go completely white, but the HUD is still visible. This is stopping me completing the campaign, as a result of this white screen, I die. FYI, I have tried using the editor and these problems do not occur and using a battle with around 70AI I can still operate with out a white screen or any problems. Is this a known bug, or any suggestions? I have turned my graphics down to normal, as I can usually run it on high/very high with little problems and it doesnt help, I have only noticed this on the Manhattan level. (So far)

Ah, thank you very much. It worked, much appreciation. That simple thing stopped me spending hours of needless moving about the map :D

Hi there, i'm vaguely new to Arma2. I've been watching videos of it, and following it until it came out and have been fascinated with it since. However I have finally got myself a computer powerful enough to finally play it. I am happy :D The game is brilliant but im still fairly new. On the campaign, i believe it's called 'Secops' missions, i'm on the second one and I have helicopter transport. Now I can get it to pick me up from somewhere and take me back to base, but how do I tell the helicopter to take me from base to somewhere else, because I cannot be bothered driving there. I read somewhere you wait until you're in the helicopter, Press 0, then Communication, Then Support, then Transport Active then open the map and click somewhere. I did that, but the helicopter doesn't take me there. Any advice please? (Sorry if this is in the wrong part of the forum)

Will this rig work well with Arma2? Intel Core i7 - 860 2.8Ghz 6GB Ram 1GB Nvidia GeForce GTS 240 This is pretty much all I need to know, I originally posted that I wanted to buy an i3 or maybe an i5, but learning of Dells payment options where you can do it per month, i've decided to go for this machine which wouldn't normally be affordable to me. Edit: The title should be Dell Studio XPS 8100 (not 100) -

How is this setup to run Arma2? Intel® Core™ i5-650 Processor - 3.2 GHz 4 GB DDR3 RAM ATI Radeon HD5450 -
Thank you for your help, i think i'm going for an i5, found a machine around £570 which suits my budget and all my needs.

I've decided against getting an i3 processor, i'm looking at a Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q8300. How well would this work with the game, would it run smoother than an i3?

What about frame rate wise, if I have the settings on low how smoothly is the game going to run

I'm not very technical when it comes to all this. The computer i'm looking that, that comes with all this isn't that expensive. Because it comes with integrated graphics, which means crap all and i'd spend about £50-100 on a graphics card. So if I do that, what settings could I run it on?
