will we be able to holster the hand gun
-
I am smiling from ear to ear as i just played the Tohk preview :D i was wonder if we will have to wait till next year to see all these features? and will you guys animate the arms for driving also? cant wait
-
hey biz thanks for the preview after a about an hour of playing all i can say is, that it's awesome !! so here's my 2 cents 1.)the hud takes up too much space it would look better at a small icon size or an optional setting 2.)when headtracking could the torso of the pilot also move slightly with the head when leaning, like leaning with a rifle in Arma and leaning forward 3.)leaning forward z axis would also look good and add to the realism 4.)fully animated cockpit (all the dial at least labled) 5.)the option to fly from either side 6.)a better death ending or improved destruction 7.)an option to unpin the mouse from headtracking In all honesty I feel like avoiding the heli's in arma for a while since the Take on experience. its just that much better.

How long till we these features in Arma
hobojoe replied to hobojoe's topic in TAKE ON HELICOPTERS - GENERAL
what about expansions to each vehicle that adds the extra functionality so if you dont have the expansion you are stuck with the average configuration but if you have expansions to each vehicle it can add more complex functionality save the simple things like character movement animation and head tracking which should already have been in arma for vehicles -
BlackOps and desert mercs

where can i find this addon for armaOA please -
im not exactly sure where to put this post but its a question im curious to ask I am an Arma crazy i cannot play anything else except DCS for years i have been dreaming about ways to make arma better and making my own missons, playing MP on my local servers. downloading awesome contents etc... its been the greatest fun for ten years the BIS guys have slaved away for years to bring me joy and so for that thanks however there are soooo many things that the community have asked for and there is only so much one team can do my question is how many BIS game fans would be willing to pay more for A BIS Game? If it meant that the finer details can finally be addressed things like thousands more animations that seem to be too much hassel to do, or improving the ten year old mission editor, sorry guys i really suck at code even with all the manuals and community sites (this doesnt mean i dont have some cool misions made with help from all over) i would personally pay double for a copy of the best damb game on earth period. in fact i would even pay double for a copy of arma 2 and i am buying several other copies for some of my ol buds my biggest fear is that BIS is going to get old an tired and less interested thanks again for the games

lol Mass panic strikes BIS forums.... whew i just got my copy of OA yesterday
-
psh hahaha

it is true that arma has an old loyal fan base that has grown slowly over the years. I have done my fair share of converting friends and it seems to be growing a bit more every year as for what to expect more staff for BIS to do more polishing :o
-
$60 sounds fair

I also have a large appitite for games but you cannot compare a turn based strategy sim to a game like arma. Think about how much money blizzard have made from the world of warcraft series. It rediculous that such a crappy little walk about game can have so many expansions backed by monthly subscriptions. (THIS IS BY NO WAY MY SUGGESTION!!) while BIS scrape through and still make a better games I dont really know their financial sitch but I know BIS is small so a little growth might help not to mention the price of xbox games ahhm
-
Why are you playing BIS games?
hobojoe replied to nettrucker's topic in BOHEMIA INTERACTIVE - GENERAL
i have to agree the editor rocks and im really lousy at code haha. still the best fun tho and whats more is the editor has barely changed in 9 years campaigns are also great and side missions -
1. It would be great to animate units entering/exiting vehicles more realistically. ie doors open and close 2. It would be better if when a squad leader enters a building, his squad follows and secures the positions inside (i cant do that with the editor or scripts yet  but it will improove close quarter battles) 3. Physics 4. better destruction overall(and please do something with the bumped over trees) 5. better shadows (those blocky anti alias shadows are ruining the beautiful textures) 6. better interaction with gear ie uniforms if you could choose your knee pads, armour, gloves, pack, goggles, watch whatever more like an RPG, and your weight affects your fatigue and speed

thanks for the reply its seems with all the updating and engine performance tweaking, there is little time left for "polishing" as you said its good to here that some of my ideas are actualy worth a read  this would make the game just look sooo much better through a scope its just those trees really..... It would be cool if they could be flattened with a tank or somthing haha (quick fix maybe) i noticed that the shadows on units looked great on low settings if only you could combine the flat shadows of the low settings for units with the higher shadow settings for terrains the A.C.E equipment system is pretty good it keeps me happy for now i guess this post belongs in a arma3 section but i asume that will be in a few hundred tech years still waiting for my copy of OA so im in for a few surprises im sure

ARMA3 - Brand new engine or backward compatibility?
hobojoe replied to maddogx's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
there is nothing seriously wrong with the game as it is. its just lacking what the usual gamer expects from a GAME Physics and a whole lot more character animations the rest is hardware related. once our pc's can run 4-5 times faster than now all the detailed stuff can be added like completely open buildings with hundreds of objects and plants i just hope they can sort out the traffic and road issues with the ai (if there was ever a problem with Arma) its that vehicles and units use the same paths to move around. -
Thanks it would also make it easier to share community scripts with others (not so programming inclined) leaving more time to work on new stuff i wish i had a programmers brain but i am more visualy inclined (like down the sight of ma gun)

thats what im talking about

what about some better features in the editor tool (units triggers etc) why can i select animal sounds from an effects menu and not more scripts? for example if i want the halo script for a player i select the effects button and select it from a list instead of this setpos [getpos this select 0, getpos this select 1,(getpos this select 2) +2500; this flyinheight 1000; this setvelocity [0,0,0]; [this] exec "ca\air2\halo\data\Scripts\Hal***o_init.sqs " here is another example if you could raise and lower units/objects with a slider or height box instead of this setPos [getPos this select 0, getPos this select 1, 20] assigning empty vehicles to units
-
what about when a squad leader enters a building his squad helps to secure it rather than stand outside and wait?? is there a script for that somewhere?
-
I might try play OFP on linux with wine...... and see what good mods have been made over the years. Maybe there is a conversion for OFP thats at least as good as ARMA 1? hehe maybe thats what BIS should suggest to shut up all us linux winers (whiners) "go play OFP if you want game on linux so bad
-
How many of you old OFP Veterans are still playing BIS games?
hobojoe replied to nettrucker's topic in BOHEMIA INTERACTIVE - GENERAL
