  1. I have read the Wiki and other instructions, and the preceeding pages of this thread.... however I'm wondering if I can get a bit more help with setting up a FTP Repository. My main problem areas are in the directory structure setup, and getting the .a3s folder to work properly for a sync. 1. I've tried running a local FTP on my computer, and using everything as instructed, but I always run into problems when it creates the .a3s folder, as the 'serverinfo not found' error, even though everything is where it should be I think... and it shows good on the 'Check repository sync' 2. I've tried uploading a built .a3s folder to my game server ftp, with everything config'd to point to that address, and again I still get the error about cannot find the files. The structure I've been using : /Server/Repository/@modsnamehere I really want to get this working, so my team mates can easily sync their folders, without having to go through all the hassle every-time we find a mod to use Thanks!
  2. strange... it is defcon servers, maybe the patch they had put on the sever was before 1.6 then I'll have to investigate. And I know, i was just giving an example... the number was off by 1, I think 1.644 instead of 1.645 ? maybe
  3. Ok... so I am new to dedicated servers. As per installing ACE on a dedi server it seems there are two ways to go; 1) Install ace 1.6 on my home pc, configure it, and upload all the folders/files ace related to my server... then initialize it using a new command line. 2) profit? is there any other way to install on a server? and what happens if clients are using sixth updater, will they be constantly out of version with our server? (the reason I ask)... last night for giggles, I did as above... and already I am out of sync with the server, by .001 versions or some such odd number :(
  4. Sorry but that really didn't help much so -profiles=server that means what in relation to all the folders and files i listed, as none are explicitly 'server' and i did check the wiki, unless it was the wrong one the page for server side difficulty was missing.... ---------- Post added at 02:36 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:33 AM ---------- so reading through more... it assumes the location is absolute -profiles=server would point to the location inside users, but i dont even know what the user name is... since I never setup the server, and there being defconserver and defcon I am almost to assume the person who setup the server didn't know exactly either. ---------- Post added at 03:11 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:36 AM ---------- well... might as well close this thread now i managed to discover the answer through trial and error of the 3-4 different profile files however might point out to anyone replying.. remember in the future the whole purpose of the forum is for knowledge sharing, not 'RTFM' i can understand if I had asked 'is this game cool???'
  5. I have a new server with defcon... and am having trouble figuring out how to set the difficulty levels. The server is such; -port=2802 -name= -nosound -world=empty -config=server.cfg -cfg=Arma2OA.cfg -profiles=server And on the servers drive ... There are 4 different cfg / profile files... is that right? I can't tell which one is being used. In main directory is arma2OA.cfg -> then server, users, I have defconservers, and SYSTEM and in each are profile configs and 1 config file.... how the heck do I sort this out? Lol cheers
