so you change weapons, you press the trigger and nothing. This happens to me ALL THE TIME. Another thing that is driving me absolutely insane is my view will be fine and stay fine, but when I get someone that appears on my screen, the point of view starts jumping around and its literally impossible to aim or even bring your view to a relevant location steadily. This ONLY ever happens when ive got an enemy on my screen and doesn't happen in other games so is not a hardware or user issue. Both of these problems don't happen every time, but it happens at bare minimum 15-25% of every encounter ive ever had in this game involving another player. Please help me, as in many cases these problems have become flat out ridiculous. You simply would not believe how many and how badly ive just given up kills and been killed in turn when im rendered helpless. I feel like I should strip down naked with a sign on me saying kill me at this point. thanks for any help. EDIT: and ive tried switching fire rates, but the only solution to get it working again seems to be to switch weapons and switch back, but im to the point where I literally have to fire a round out of every weapon I change to in order to make sure the weapon isn't bugged, and as im sure you can imagine my teammate love the sudden heart attacks, and the giving away of our positions.

but ffs bohemia, can you release a patch for once that i dont have to redownload the whole farking thing from sites that take hours, or at LEAST provide a goddamn torrent somewhere? This is the most simple idea for support you can come up with, and you idiots still make the end user go to as much trouble as humanly possible for no reason other then sheer stupidity. Theres just no excuse for this unprofessional cockomeme bs. College project games have more ease of access then this. This is just beyond pathetic yet again. Figure it out douchebags. So i really cant believe this, especially after all this time and i fully dont expect people reading this to believe it, but i had been sitting playing a single player game and had gotten to a point where i was unable to continue due to bugs and such, and tried experimenting with hosting my own game. I was able to do this. Then i tried jumping on someone else's server in the vain hope that something would now run, and guess what? it did. I was unable to connect to the same server hours previous so im really confused as to why now im suddenly able to connect to games. Theres still (depending on teh time of day) a handful of servers i can connect to that have many people in them, and they claim to have no mods running, but ill take what i can get. Altho i do find it strange that now im getting the mondo error messages, but it still connects to the game, where previously i wasnt getting any messages at all, i would just disconnect and end up back in the lobby. After all this time and with this most recent dose of super insanity, i have to just tack this success up to the game being so unstable that finally brute reinstalls finally made something stick (or broke in the right direction) and work as intended for now. This is a bit of a bittersweet victory for me seeing as the solution shouldnt have really had anything to do with this, but im not complaining. its just been another chapter in the long story of this games unstable, unpredictable, and quirky nature. What a ride this has been and what a fitting ending. Now im off to play arma with the other 5 people that still attempt to play the game lol. Thanks the help (or trying to anyways), and pay no attention to my criticisms, your subject matter was to the point, relevent, and you werent trying to derail the thread or dilute it, while previously ive on more then one occasion had pages and pages of forum threads (only 1 or 2 others here) that were more to the tune of what the author of teh post thought was coolest about teh game and had nothing relevant for the entirety of the thread to my problem. Im now also enjoying the last few patches that i had missed, including what i understand was one of the largest due to operation arrowheads release. Several of my complaints for even such unspoken problem such as ui/ai and pathing conflicts had been addressed which surprised me, altho they still have a long way to go (its still widely accepted taht to get through some missions it might require 10 redo's just purely for teh bug issues or critical npc's dont do what their required to do. Im still being shot through buildings, fences, and the ai can see and shoot through trees, bushes and tall grass etc, but the update was a step in the rigth direction for sure. Just need to keep em coming for a while. This is where the game should have been on release. Edit: and now that im thinking about it my 4890 ati radeon video card just went out (stupid fan quit after 6 months and i never had a reciept) and i replaced it with my old 3870 saphire card taht also could be the resolution i suppose.

so i originally had everything running, had a bunch of mods rolling and everything was okay. Then they had patched the game a long time ago (about 3 patches ago) and ive never been able to play a multi game since. I write a post on this every so often in total frustration due to the ridiculous amount to time ive invested attempting to fix this problem, and everytime they always get hijacked by fanboi's who have no relevant info to offer. I have gotten my single player to finally work again (altho man, even patched has so many bugs), but does anyone have any suggestions on 'why' i cant connect to games? I can see them, i can select my character in the game im trying to get into, then after 10 mins of loading im back to the server browser and it never says anything. I know its not my router/connection as ive tried connecting elsewhere with the same problem, and i did not have any issues with this originally whatsoever, and the problem all started with the patch. Im sorry if i seem highly upset with all this, i wouldnt even attempt to put in the hundreds of hours ive spent trying to fix this problem if the game didnt have something sweet to offer (that you cant really get elsewhere), but technically this game is probably the worst example of bugs and terrible coding ive ever seen or heard of in my life. This is more like a college project or a home made game then a complete product. Lil help here please? And can we keep this relevant to the subject at hand? EDIT: oh and i just have vanilla, with no mods or new maps running currently. I just want to get the base game working.

So i accidentally changed one of my maps to a modified version and now cant play normal games. I go to uninstall and reinstall the game (AGAIN), and arma 2 does not show up in the programs list. I swear the last several times ive had to do this (for other retarded reasons) i didnt have any issues, but i cant get it off my machine to save my life. The exe and the rest of the normal files seem to have been removed, but all the mod files are still there, and the game will still run off the disk itself, so i know i still have something installed, but i cant get rid of it. this game is possibly the most technically clunky software (not just game) ive ever seen or heard of. Someone just help me get it the fark off my machine!!! I wanted to play it again, but after this madness (again) screw this shite!! I shouldnt require a degree in software design to play a game. ---------- Post added at 11:38 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:29 AM ---------- So i just got bored/frustrated and went for broke, i just deleted manually the existing files in the folder (over 3 gigs, but that could be mod content?) reinstallation (man i am a fool) appears successful, patching now.... Either way, i cant believe people get paid to make 1/3rd finished products.

this is true, it was my fault with the mistake. My complaint is that this isnt something i should have to be dealing with to begin with, and other games dont have this involved of a process to get mods to run/continue running. Ive tried uninstalling anything to do with this game and reinstalling several times now, but because i changed one file and made one mistake the game is screwed forever and i just dont think thats very cool. I paid for this game like anyone else. Now really unless you have something constructive to say, stfu fanboy.

well now ive got the program running again. Ive got it patched. But i cant connect to any games but the ones with the same altered map i uninstalled everything in the first place to remove. The excitement never stops lol. EDIT: and how many games do you know of that play after you've removed the entire game AND files from the system?
