i have tried with default but the game crash in my arma2.cfg localvram is abaut 16 gb, is correct? my pagefile max is 4096 mb

hello to all, I have bought arm 2 from steam but practically I cannot play, always in the same points of the main campaign or in the single missions I have crash with message out of memory My PC is: Core 2 Duo 3gb ram ati 4870 x2 win xp the version of the game is 1.07 I have tried to change all the configurations video of the game but the result is always the same, in some case worse because the crash is during the loading also I have tried to use - maxmem=2047 and cpucount=2 but no result someone can help me? thanks
