Notice how the green hud display moves with my head tracking. QuvYcCwdUBc I got my Track IR a few days ago and when I first tried it I am sure that the green hud thing in the Apache was in a fixed position. I don't think I changed anything so can someone hopefully tell me if this is either normal and I imagined the whole fixed hud thing or is this a bug of some kind ? or perhaps just a setting I changed by accident ? I would rather this be fixed in position for some reason haha thanks for taking a look

yeah, had about half an hour in an Apache just messing around and its fine now that I know its the way its supposed to be. I am new to arma and track ir so please excuse my idiocy haha

Thanks, right, the sixupdater method, now I want to do the easiest method possible and if this is suxupdater then I want to do it this way however just like my past searches on the subject I cant for the life of me find out how I do this with sixupdater. Where is the tutorial for this ? I honestly cant find it anywhere. Also, step 3, does this get added to a config file or something ? And many thanks, please take pity on a complete noob with a distinct lack of searching abilities lol

Ok, done the usual checking and I cant find much information on my own, as usual lol I finally got ACE working with my game and now I want to put it on my server. I think I understand how to put it on my server via ftp, that's not what I am unsure of but what I don't know is how to start the server with ACE ? How do I go about getting my server to run ace ? and if there is some kind of detailed tutorial I have missed please post the link. Any other tips would be great. Cheers.

I done that just the same as I have done before and had my question ignored completely but yeah, lets try again. I wonder how many people could answer my question but decide its best for me to re ask my question in a specific thread where my past questions have been largely ignored.

I have tried searching on my issue and its not helping one little bit nor are the so-called easy instructions on the official pages for the stuff in question. Everything seams extremely vague and perhaps even slightly condescending. Exactly where does it clearly state how a complete noob starts his ACE server ? I am trying to search myself but its not working out for me, so can someone just answer my question without telling me to search a zillion page thread or look at a tutorial written by some superior being that's got so many acronyms and vagueness its borderline useless unless your familiar with the whole Arma 2 thing. And I am sorry but I am a brand new arma player and have been trying for weeks to get stuff sorted and for the first time in my long gaming life I am unable to find my own help or get basic help from the community when needed. I have learnt how to install ACE 1.5 on my pc, that's working fine now but no where can I see information that's clearly stating that once all the files are uploaded to your server go to file A and enter X information and then execute file B or something as an example. I am certain that eventually I will laugh at my problems and think to myself "what an idiot I was for not realising this" but at the moment I am basically banging my head against a brick wall trying to find my own information and/or getting help from the community. As I am also clearly useless at searching these forums can someone tell me what I should have put in the search for my problem of not knowing how to start my arma 2 server with ACE ? I tried like an idiot to search for "Starting ACE server after file transfer" and about a billion other variants but nothing.

Can someone please explain to me how I start ACE once I have uploaded the files to my server ? I have tried to find out myself but I am either blind or the information I have is not very noob friendly. A basic step by step idiots guide to installing and running an Arma 2 OA or Combined Operations server would be appreciated. As far as I can gather I just upload the ace and cba folders to the server (same ones I have on my game installation on my pc) then this is the part I don't know, how to get it started and running.

Nothing works in terms of ace and I am getting a little bit bored with troubleshooting so-called simple installation methods. I am yet again going to uninstall Arma 2 etc etc and steam and clean my pc of any traces then I will re download steam, then arma 2 and operation arrowhead all with default installation options and then I will try yet again to get one of those super simple programs to work. Another day of troublshooting, ohh the joys. A question Why on gods green earth cant I just download the mod, double click the EXE and it will install the mod etc etc Why does Arma mods have to be like this when pretty much everything else in the world of pc is a double click installation ? SO to sumarise, again. I will have Arma 2 and OA downloaded with steam default options. I will be using addon sync and then Arma 2 Launcher as I think I understand both of these programs. I will reinstall both of these apps also and leave default settings. what a monumental pain in the but, much better than a double click exe installation, bahhh, will end up giving up soon, been weeks of this and trying to get basic instructions out of this community does not seam to be very easy. Ohh well, here we go again.

I have never been able to get ace working, baught CO from steam a little while back and no good at all. So just to confirm. I download and install Addon sync 2009, enter this url to the auto server bit, check for addons, download all the addons listed then I can go into your servers and play ace multiplayer and single player ? I can then use something like or indeed Arma 2 Launcher to launch the game with all the addons enabled (not used to using command lines to start mods etc etc) The ace Demo mission wouldn't work last time I tried so I didnt ever even try multiplayer. I really want to try ace but I have had no luck :( Sixupdater wouldnt work for me also it seams however Addon sync is working I think and its now downloading about a gb of stuff, is this right ?

I apologise if this is posted in the wrong place, not sure what category this problem should be posted in. My problem is and I am sure its just a regular noob mistake is that when I start a game (Warfare BE lite) I will start putting the stuff in my base, barracks etc etc. I would like to know how I can specify the spawn point of vehicles and soldiers when I purchase them. For example, when I put the airbase thing and spawn a chopper it will often be sitting on top of something or decide to spawn in the middle of a bunch of trees or something. Can someone please explain to me how I can specify where I want my chopper (for instance) to spawn or if I cannot do that can someone tell me how I can tell where the chopper will spawn so I can then place the aircraft construction building accordingly. Is there a guide or something regarding building placement when setting up your base ? many thanks and apologies as I suspect this is just a noob mistake by myself.

thanks, think I worked out that they always spawn on a certain side when I put it down, working fine for now but I would like a bit more control over this if possible.

I am going to pick up an Arma 2 server today and would like some recommendations as to where I should get it hosted. I see some places that seam extremely expensive and a few that are not too bad, like about £15 a month for 10 or 12 slots. Can anyone suggest some decent hosts where I can rent an Arma 2 server from that wont break the bank, don't really wanna spend more than £15 a month and its only for myself and a handful of my friends who have bought the game so no less than 10 slots would be fine, branded or de-branded does not matter nor does getting free or discount ventrilo or teamspeak servers. An American company that has servers in Europe would be fine too but of course I don't want my server hosted in America due to ping to the uk. I have a discount code for Alpha and its a recurring discount code but when I enter it during checkout it does not take any money off the bill ? Does the recurring discount mean if I decide to stay with Alpha I will get the discount on the next billing cycle ? Tried calling them but no joy.

This server is primarily just for me and my brother who are both brand new to the arma series and want to hone our multiplayer "skills" (if you can call them that lol) and this company seams to be perfect. I have combined operations myself but I only see OA for rentall ? Do I just get an OA server and I can run Combined opps on it ? Sorry but this is my first Arma 2 server so any extra information would be superb, thanks for the suggestion :) Looks good..

I have been told to search these unbelievably cluttered forums before and I have tried and found nothing. I am trying the benny warfare lite (latest version I believe) and just oustide the towns I am trying to capture there are fixed machine gun things, like a bunker with an AI soldier on the fixed machine gun. I have literally shot these soldiers in the face about a zillion times and its obvious that I am either tripping on acid or the enemy AI while in these fixed machine gun bunker things are invincible. Surely this is a bug ? Or am I doing something wrong ? And please for the love of god someone just tell me instead of telling me to go search a hundred billion google results or a forum thread with hundreds of pages. I am having no luck finding stuff on my own and I apologise for my noobishness in advance as I am sure this is posted in the wrong forum or whatever, now can someone speak in plain english assuming that (A) I am not familiar with army acronyms or anything like that and (B) this is my first taste of Arma so I am basically like a blind man walking around Europe`s largest shopping centre, or at least that's how I feel lol. I also cant launch the ace mod because it says my Utes file or something is not there and has been deleted for some reason and I have posted this in the relevant forum thread only for it to be ignored and buried within hours. I have Combined Operations from steam if that matters. I really hope someone can help me without pointing me to a 356 page small font guide in the assumption I actually know what the hell I am doing lol

Superb, that may well be it. I cant try it right away but will test it as soon as possible, hopefully this is my problem.

last night I deleted all the arma 2 stuff from my computer and re downloaded it last night on steam and I am going to try it completely free of anything other than the game files with no mods or anything. Not sure if this will help but worth a shot perhaps.

I am really new to arma so I am still finding my way around the editor and what not but I will try and test that shortly.

I have not tired that however if I go their in a stryker and blast where the gun is with fire after a little while it does break the gun ( I think because I get some cash for it) and the AI is laying dead at the back of the bunker where I think he is meant to be.

4V9psXFs8Ag Apologies for the poor quality and frame rate, fraps halved my frame rate down to 30fps it seams lol As you can see I hit the guy from a short distance over and over and over, if I got more ammo and done that 5 times over it would be the same result. I also added a little clip of video at the start showing my expansions or should I say lack of them lol
