I have no idea what I am doing with fraps, but the file is huge and it will take me forever to upload. No matter how many times I shoot him he survives. I will try and work fraps out and get a video uploaded for tomorrow but I am pretty sure I am not doing anything wrong. I don't have any mods running. When I go to the expansions screen all I have is Arma 2 and Arma 2 operation arrowhead listed. I will try and get a quick video sorted if that helps but trust me when I say I am shooting the guy bang on, blood splats and all but I will make a video anyway.

many thanks I will check out those video`s and try again. ---------- Post added at 09:00 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:48 PM ---------- well I just tried it again, made my way to the back of the bunker, put about 15 bullets in the enemies head and a whole bunch in random parts of the body for good measure, walked around to the front of the bunker and bam, shot dead by the superman of the AI world lol its really spoiling it for me :( One thing I know though is that the best games are often the most buggy and this is no exception, so am I just waiting on an updated version of warfare BE or the game itself ?

No one ? I thought this would have been a quick fix, someone comes along and says something like " you numb nut ! just copy (insert filename here) to (insert location here)" or something like that. I really want to try ACE too, please dig deep and help a noob out hehe I have seen the two posts linked in the first post in this thread but I don't quite understand what to do.

I suspect this may have already been covered but I don't have time to search 50 pages for an answer so here is my problem. I have Combined Operations from steam, done the thing to combine them both as described in a thread on these forums and it works fine it seams. I have installed sixupdater and its reporting that I have the latest versions of Ace and all the other stuff it appar5ently requires. When I start the game in sixupdater the game loads fine with Ace however when I go to the Ace demo it says it wont work because I don't have utes, its may have been deleted or something. Can someone help me out ? I am very new to the Arma series so its more than possible I have messed up but as far as I can tell I have done everything the way I should have. Many thanks.

I am a huge fan of the original Battlefield game and especially the superb mods like Desert Combat and Forgotten hope and I always felt that the way the Battlefield franchise should have went was down a larger and more sim like game but sadly that has not been the case and I have lost all faith in the battlefield games to give me what I want. I admit I have barely touched Arma 2 OA online so what I describe may already be available however this is what I would like to try. The online game mode conquest in BF1942 where you had to take a flag and keep it and the team with the most flags would win after a period of time after holding a larger percentage of flags but with of course larger environments and more sim like. So basically for multiplayer it would be, spawn in a base (or a captured flag) loaded with vehicles of all types, pick your vehicle or whatever (go on foot if you wish hehe) and try and capture a flag (in the case of arma perhaps a small village ?) and battle to keep the flags. If this type of gametype is already available then what should I be looking for and if for this type of thing I need to get a mod then what mod ? Or finally if I have to create my own mod for this type of thing, where should I start in regards to making a mod ? any relatively easy to follow starter guides I should take a look at ? well I managed to get a bit of online time ona few Warfare servers and its definitely along the lines of what I was thinking of. AAS looks cool too, perhaps a good way for noobs like myself to get into Arma.

Hello, brand new to the Arma series although I did play a bit of operation flashpoint many many years ago but didn't really have the PC for it at the time so its safe to say I am pretty much a complete noob in terms of this type of game. I did spend ages on Battlefield 1942 and mods and really really like that game and always felt it would be even better if they made a Battlefield game that was more "simulatorish" and bigger. For some strange reason the first Arma game and Arma 2 slipped past my radar and I cant for the life of me think why. I have always loved flight sims and was generally a pilot on Battlefield 1942 so the flying aspect of Arma is appealing to me in a huge way. Sooo, enough waffling lol I grabbed this game yesterday and have been setting up my trusty old Sidewinder pro force feedback 2 and I think I just about got it sorted so I have been playing around with a bit of flying. I am absolutely loving what I have experienced so far but as a complete newbie to this series I felt it would be a good idea to come here and get some tips or advice on what I perhaps should try, should set or should avoid etc etc. Regarding mods, is there a definitive source of mod information I should check out ? Any must have mods or tweaks ? Regarding my PC and capabilities, can anyone suggest optimal settings for my system ? Its running ok and looks acceptable but I would like to get the most out of my hardware if possible. My specs are as follows. Cpu - Core 2 Quad 2.8ghz Ram - 4GB DDR2 (not sure what speed) GPU - Radeon HD5770 1GB GDDR5 Audio - Creative Soundblaster X-FI Also, is there a way to do some advanced graphics tweaks via a .cfg file or something ? if so, how do I go about doing this ?
