Confusion regarding the "Reinforcements" DVD rom
Narsil replied to stefos71's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Excellent question. I also would like to know what happens with this. If the full DVD versions of A2 and OA are already installed, will the Reinforcements DVD ONLY install basically the BAF & PMC files ? Any "official" answer would be greatly appreciated by alot of us potential buyers. Thanks! -
Will my PC Run this? What CPU/GPU to get? What settings? System Specifications.

Hi all. I'm putting together a new PC, and wonder if anyone here either knows,or even has a pretty good guess, whether or not the newest ("3rd Generation") SSD's would have much (or any) improvements in A2, as opposed to the current 2nd-Gen ones ? I'm pretty sure I want to buy the generally reliable Intel G2 160 GB. But, I realize it will be falling quite behind in performance against the newest models. ( Vertex 3, Crucial C400, Intel G3, Corsair P3,etc...) So, would it likely make a definitive difference in gameplay with a faster SSD, or should I just buy the Intel G2 and be content ? (If it matters, will be in a i7 2600k, 8GB RAM,single GTX 580.) Thanks for any help.....seems the more I read, the more questions I have!:butbut: -
Yup, count another copy SOLD right here ! This is fantastic news for us dinosaurs who still like to have a physical copy (yeah, yeah, I *know* I could burn the download DLC.... let me have my moment to rejoice.....:) ) Now, here's hoping that getting the publisher/distributor in Canada is smoother & quicker than finding OA in a store was........

Joystick questions: Can anyone tell me if the game supports joysticks with multiple hat switches and lots of buttons which can all be re-mapped to various functions....OR....does the joystick's controller-software need to be running in the background to do this? Also, could the joystick be mapped to replace the standard movement keys for infantry ? I know keyboard is usually better for movement, but I sometimes have problems with my hands that makes it difficult. Thanks in advance for any help !:) -
Canadian Update Just wanted to pass along to any fellow Canucks still searching for a Boxed version of the game... My local Wal-Mart (Regina,SK) today has about 6 or 7 copies each on the shelf of Combined Operations($49.99) and Operation Arrrowhead ($39.99). Well, they *had* 6 copies of OA...... Now, I gotta go shop for some new computer parts to play this baby !

Hi, I have a question related to this topic. Does the game by default recognize ALL the various buttons and hat-switches on a joystick ? In other words, could the game assign keybindings to even a complex joystick without needing to run the joystick's software ? I am thinking of trying this wonderful-sounding game, and would like to do so with a good joystick, if possible. Thanks!
