If this helps at all, when they connect and fail to do so, it doesn't even say "xxx is connecting", whereas it usually says "xxx is connecting" but doesn't say "xxx has connected". -

Double checked, ports are forwarded to the correct device. -

Forwarded port 2302-2307 TCP and UDP. UPnP is enabled and NAT address translation is open. ---------- Post added at 10:07 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:12 AM ---------- Also, in the troubleshooting page, it tells me to do this: "If it still does not work, make copy of your registry and do the following: Start Windows in safe mode, go to device manager, show hidden devices and delete the following non-PnP-drivers: HTTP AVMPORT NetBios over TCP/IP TCP-IP Driver for automatic RAS-connection Windows Socket 2.0 Non-IFS" By deleting those non-PnP drivers, what will happen to my internet connection? And when backing up my registry do I back up those drivers as well? -
I take no credit for anything in this video. I thought that this should just become the official ArmA 2 trailer, that's all.

So this day finally comes. Amazing work.

Radeon 7970 released - ARMA 2 Performance Gains
Flubadoo replied to Rouen58's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
According to Nvidia, the new 6xx series will have 2.4x the performance over current gen (they said it would be released in 2011), and the Maxwell 7xx series would have 7.1x the performance of current generation. This is impressive, but I'm still waiting on Nvidia's response. -
I know my color depth is 32-bit, and it's the max you can go, but especially during night-time, you can see REALLY staggered gradients on the clouds and in the sky. It's even worse with the street lamps and car headlights. Can it be fixed?

Turn AA off. Set HDR to normal. Postprocess to low.

New - 2,560 x 1,440 Sandy Bridge PC Build.. Need advise.

I think the HAF 932 looks good in my opinion, but if you want something looking sleek, then go Lian-Li. And by overvolt, I meant 1.2-1.4. Anyways, you don't even need to overvolt to get good results. -

Keep the 580, and get a Logitech MX518 or G500. They are reliable, and work VERY well. Also, the keyboard is a waste, IMO. And also get an HDD. The SSD is only 128GB, not enough for anything. My recommendation: Samsung F3 Spinpoint 1TB AND Crucial OCZ 80GB SSD Also, a PSU change: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/850w-silverstone-st85f-100modular-quad-pci-e-atx12v-22-and-eps12v-80-efficiency-rohs It's 850w, compared to the HX750. It's also modular and 80+ SILVER. I also recommend you get a CoolerMaster HAF 932. It's a MUCH better case than the obsidian, while being cheaper. It comes with much more powerful fans. The obsidian comes with 3x140mm. It completely pales against the HAF 932's 3x230mm (!!!!!!!) and 1x140mm. And since the HAF 932 also supports it, get this, and get even more airflow: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/120mm-bitfenix-spectre-black-fan-red-led-quiet-fluid-dynamic-bearings-(fdb)-1000rpm The HAF 932 is simply put, amazing. Another tip: Get rid of the H70 cooler, there is no need for it. With the new Sandy Bridge i5, you can easily get up to 4.8GHz (with a 1.445 overvolt) on the stock cooler. People have gotten up to 5.3GHz on the stock. The H70 will provide little to no advantage, unless you plan to overclock to 6Ghz, which is overkill, and no reason to do so. -
When I copy the example into the initialization field of my unit, I still don't see fog. And yes, fog.fsm is in the mission folder.

Set the resolution of the interface to your current native resolution. Like with NVIDIA, AMD has scaling options, and just right click on your desktop and click "Catalyst Control" or something similar. If it isn't there, you need to: 1. Download Catalyst 10.12 2. Go into your start menu, and search for catalyst. I forgot which setting, but I presume that the settings for resolution and scaling is under "Display" -

I got my new laptop, except it doesn't perform better than my old one at ArmA 2, while having much better specs: New: -GTX 460M (9588 in 3dMark Vantage) -8GB DDR3 1333MHz RAM -Intel Core i7-740QM @ 1.73GHz -7200RPM HDD Old: -GTX 260M OC (5764 in 3dMark Vantage) -6GB DDR2 1066MHz RAM -Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 @ 2.53GHz -5200RPM HDD On the exact same settings with the exact same mods and the same resolution (although the new one's native is 1080p rather than 900p), the new one only gets around 11FPS in a little benchmark I made where a ridiculous amount of planes fly overhead, and the old one got around 15FPS+. What might be causing this? -
Does ArmA 2 Warrant An Additional Video Tutorial Disc?
Flubadoo replied to infiltrator_2k's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Controls are not hard at all. They are standard FPS shooter controls, with a few extra tactical buttons you use with the scroll wheel. The tutorials in OA are very easy to go through and informative. It's just that, to become good, you have to learn the tactical controls well (spacebar, map, period button). Being a grunt and shooting people shouldn't be too hard, and you learn stuff as you go along. -

Is there any command in the editor to make something have more armor? For example, me and my buddy want to make a scenario where you just fly the tiny russian plane around (Pchela-1T, I think) and it isn't really holding up to the missiles the helicopters are throwing at it. I want to do something like multiply the armor by 2, just so it can take a few hits. -
OA looks really bad despite graphic settings + mouse issue
Flubadoo replied to eyab's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I also have a problem with the LODs. They also look really bad when further than 10m, and they fade out horribly. Not to mention the building LODs switch way too often. Still fun though. -
Z-Fighting still present or worse?
Flubadoo replied to Fireball's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
What exactly is Z-fighting? I didn't really notice anything odd in the videos in the ticket. -
i7 has almost no gain in gaming performance over i5 processors. i7s are only better for huge multitasking and rendering shitloads, but you would probably get a Xeon for rendering a lot. So i5, unless you are very rich. And I don't think that ArmA 2 is that GPU-dependent, but I suggest you get a 768MB GTX 460, or an ATi Radeon 6850. If you are decent at overclocking, I would recommend the GTX 460, as it can be pushed to even 800MHz core and 4Gigs Effective memory.

Is there a mod that takes out the HDR, but not the blur? I like the blur.

Yeah, I know about that thing, but I also want to be able to command from first person well, which I can't do due to the free-aim messing up the commanding crosshair. -

Is there any fix for the ArmA 2 commanding while using free-aim? When I set an aiming deadzone for freeaim, when I press the spacebar in 1st person, the commanding circle thing doesn't move when I move my mouse within the deadzone. This becomes especially problematic when I use a high aiming deadzone. I can't command and move the command circle effectively anymore. ArmA 2: Operation Arrowhead has this fixed; The crosshair moves within the deadzone. I just need a fix for ArmA 2. -

How do I make Steam not redownload the whole game each update? Wow, I mean, really? -
Just in time for christmas. Will this work decently with standalone ArmA 2 and when will there be serverkeys? And oh wow. Most explosions are beautiful, but there are a few bugs.
