"Connecting failed" When joining friend's listen server.
Flubadoo replied to Flubadoo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
If this helps at all, when they connect and fail to do so, it doesn't even say "xxx is connecting", whereas it usually says "xxx is connecting" but doesn't say "xxx has connected". -

Double checked, ports are forwarded to the correct device. -

Forwarded port 2302-2307 TCP and UDP. UPnP is enabled and NAT address translation is open. ---------- Post added at 10:07 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:12 AM ---------- Also, in the troubleshooting page, it tells me to do this: "If it still does not work, make copy of your registry and do the following: Start Windows in safe mode, go to device manager, show hidden devices and delete the following non-PnP-drivers: HTTP AVMPORT NetBios over TCP/IP TCP-IP Driver for automatic RAS-connection Windows Socket 2.0 Non-IFS" By deleting those non-PnP drivers, what will happen to my internet connection? And when backing up my registry do I back up those drivers as well? -

Whenever my friend or I try to join a multiplayer game that each of us try to host in Vanilla ArmA 2: CO. Things tried: -netsh winsock reset in cmd -Port forwarding -Restarting Steam Any suggestions? -
I take no credit for anything in this video. I thought that this should just become the official ArmA 2 trailer, that's all.

So this day finally comes. Amazing work.

Radeon 7970 released - ARMA 2 Performance Gains
Flubadoo replied to Rouen58's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
According to Nvidia, the new 6xx series will have 2.4x the performance over current gen (they said it would be released in 2011), and the Maxwell 7xx series would have 7.1x the performance of current generation. This is impressive, but I'm still waiting on Nvidia's response. -
I know my color depth is 32-bit, and it's the max you can go, but especially during night-time, you can see REALLY staggered gradients on the clouds and in the sky. It's even worse with the street lamps and car headlights. Can it be fixed?

Turn AA off. Set HDR to normal. Postprocess to low.

New - 2,560 x 1,440 Sandy Bridge PC Build.. Need advise.

I think the HAF 932 looks good in my opinion, but if you want something looking sleek, then go Lian-Li. And by overvolt, I meant 1.2-1.4. Anyways, you don't even need to overvolt to get good results. -

Keep the 580, and get a Logitech MX518 or G500. They are reliable, and work VERY well. Also, the keyboard is a waste, IMO. And also get an HDD. The SSD is only 128GB, not enough for anything. My recommendation: Samsung F3 Spinpoint 1TB AND Crucial OCZ 80GB SSD Also, a PSU change: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/850w-silverstone-st85f-100modular-quad-pci-e-atx12v-22-and-eps12v-80-efficiency-rohs It's 850w, compared to the HX750. It's also modular and 80+ SILVER. I also recommend you get a CoolerMaster HAF 932. It's a MUCH better case than the obsidian, while being cheaper. It comes with much more powerful fans. The obsidian comes with 3x140mm. It completely pales against the HAF 932's 3x230mm (!!!!!!!) and 1x140mm. And since the HAF 932 also supports it, get this, and get even more airflow: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/120mm-bitfenix-spectre-black-fan-red-led-quiet-fluid-dynamic-bearings-(fdb)-1000rpm The HAF 932 is simply put, amazing. Another tip: Get rid of the H70 cooler, there is no need for it. With the new Sandy Bridge i5, you can easily get up to 4.8GHz (with a 1.445 overvolt) on the stock cooler. People have gotten up to 5.3GHz on the stock. The H70 will provide little to no advantage, unless you plan to overclock to 6Ghz, which is overkill, and no reason to do so. -
When I copy the example into the initialization field of my unit, I still don't see fog. And yes, fog.fsm is in the mission folder.

Set the resolution of the interface to your current native resolution. Like with NVIDIA, AMD has scaling options, and just right click on your desktop and click "Catalyst Control" or something similar. If it isn't there, you need to: 1. Download Catalyst 10.12 2. Go into your start menu, and search for catalyst. I forgot which setting, but I presume that the settings for resolution and scaling is under "Display" -

ATTN NOOBIES! - New to ArmA II or OA - Here's the place for your questions

I got my new laptop, except it doesn't perform better than my old one at ArmA 2, while having much better specs: New: -GTX 460M (9588 in 3dMark Vantage) -8GB DDR3 1333MHz RAM -Intel Core i7-740QM @ 1.73GHz -7200RPM HDD Old: -GTX 260M OC (5764 in 3dMark Vantage) -6GB DDR2 1066MHz RAM -Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 @ 2.53GHz -5200RPM HDD On the exact same settings with the exact same mods and the same resolution (although the new one's native is 1080p rather than 900p), the new one only gets around 11FPS in a little benchmark I made where a ridiculous amount of planes fly overhead, and the old one got around 15FPS+. What might be causing this?
