this is probably a horribly stupid question to ask but every time I load a save game or revert to an older save the hud disappears. Works fantastic on the first load of the mission but as soon as I die it disappears, any suggestions? thanks

I got it working now, hard drive was completey cooked and no error messages were displaying. New hard drive is in and i am a happy man. Thanks for you help guys

So just so I get this correct are all the addons in this guide incompatible with Arma 2 if I use OA to optimize Arma 2. Thanks

Yes directx 11 is already installed. And yep I tried running as admin several times but still no joy. Seems I am really stuck for options

I recently upgraded systems to play Arma 2 on higher settings...this is where the pain starts. First time round Arma 2 installed fine but I was having real trouble patching it so I formatted my drive and started from scratch. However when I now try to install the game I get an error message at the end of the installation saying 'Directx failed to install' and when I start up the game I watch the opening titles then the game CTD. I also copied the CD files to my hard drive and ran it from there but it wouldn't install at all. Windows 7 64 bit i7 920 6gb ram HD 4890 The game is from 505games, off Amazon UK All the drivers are up to date. Any help would be much appreciated as I am sat here with a new computer in and endless loop on reinstalling and uninstalling. Thanks

100% positive that the game is genuine, I had the same copy running fine and my old system, its 505 version. Its getting even more bizarre now. I formatted my system again and did another fresh install of arma and the game won't even load up at all, no error messages or anything. I have emailed 505 games to see if they can shed any light on this. My system specs are; Win 7 64 bit i7 920 6gb Ram HD 4890 td;lr game would'nt patch, formatted drive and fresh installed game, now game wont load up at all EDIT: When I try to install the game now everythings goes fine, but at the very end i receive and error message saying directx failed to install. (I already have directx 11 installed). thanks for help

System is overclocked (was planning on doing it if the game ran too slow). Just formatted my system so now Arma 2 is installed as pure as it could be...downloaded the patch 1.00-1.07 and still get the same error messages. Any more ideas?

Ye using win 7 64 bit. Game was from Amazon and shows 1.03 build on the start up. I worked fine up my old system but I just upgraded to play on better settings. thanks for your reply

However I got a few error messages along the lines of, Update 1.04-1.05\ADDONS\A10.PBO.UPD cannot be applied, error xdelta3 returned error code: 1 Update 1.04-1.05\ADDONS\AIR.PBO.UPD cannot be applied, error xdelta3 returned error code: 1 Update 1.04-1.05\ADDONS\AIR2.PBO.UPD cannot be applied, error xdelta3 returned error code: 1 Update 1.04-1.05\ADDONS\AIR3.PBO.UPD cannot be applied, error xdelta3 returned error code: 1 Update 1.04-1.05\ADDONS\ANIMALS2.PBO.UPD cannot be applied, error xdelta3 returned error However the files that the error affects seem to be different each time. I then tried updating it from 1.00 to 1.05 in mind to go from 1.05 - 1.07 after. Again I got the same error messages although regarding different files. Hello, wondering if I could get a little help on what I should do with my system. Really new to Arma2 but I'm loving it so far, however I want to give my system a boost to get the max out of it. Q6600 @2.4 3 gig RAM HD 4890 stock PSU stock cooler Windows xp 32 I've been playing with 1980x1200 with settings on very high (but obv getting very low fps) How would you guys go about updating this system to make things run more smoothly at very high settings (I can deal with some lag). The two options I can really see would be either: (I won't be doing any of this myself as my skills with computers are disturbingly poor) 1. Overclock the q6600, and add more ram, however this would need me buying a new case, cooler,psu and motherboard as my current one wont OC. And also upgrading to windows 7 64. I've been given a quote of £500 for this. 2. Buy a whole new rig but just move the HD 4890 over. I've seen a couple of videos of the i7 920 OC with as 4850 running the game smoothly and on v high settings (I don't know how genuine they are though). My budget isn't mega cash but I can push the boat a bit if need be, I just want to get the best out of this amazing game. Also I'd like this system to be able to handle OA aswell. Any help will be really appreciated

Hi again, so far so good until....after installing the GL4 addon and starting up the game i receivce the message 'Script UserConfig GL4\GL4_Core.sqf no found' although when I checked the file is in the location it should be. I have tried it both using the files in the GL4 download and with the files you suggested as parameters and still no joy. Again any help would be really appreciated. thanks EDIT: Got it working

I understand this is probably a horribly stupid question to ask but I am very new to ARMA 2 and its modding. I've got no idea how to open the 'user profile config file' which is needed to change the difficulty settings. What program should be used to open and edit this file? Thanks in advance
