Sorry, brand-spankin' new member to the forums. Just got the game and I love every minute of it (even the voice acting in the campaign strikes the right "cheese" chord with me). I'm sure the topic has been brought up here somewhere, but my browser isnt displaying a search field so I can look up old posts. And besides, who doesn't love talking about gigantic guns?
Anyways I'm just a dumbass that happened across a mention of a 20mm sniper rifle somewhere, and was instantly intrigued. The thought of that amount of recoil and sheer energy going off right next to your head seemed too much. Lo and behold a South African company in the 90's developed a completely redesigned and modern variation of the WWII Japanese Type 97 anti-tank rifle.
It's called: Denel NTW-20 Anti-Material Rifle. That bad-larry fires the same rounds that AH-1W and AH-1Z Cobra gunships use in their M197 gatling guns. (I'm good at wikipedia and all the internets:yay:) Somewhere out there is a modder that can put this weapon into the game.
