updating OA+BAF

ok just d/l the patch and it says it only updates A2 to 1.07. NOTE: This patch will also update your ARMA 2 1.05 to 1.07 and ARMA 2 BAF 1.00 to 1.02 if necessary.

updating OA+BAF

Ok thanks i also have 1.7 for A2 do i need to update to 1.8
5. Since running BAF addon i seem to have kind of screen tearing/flickering or jumping if you like of the graphics. This only happens when i'm using camera.sqs when rotating or shifting the view with the keys. Seems worse with the joystick that i assigned some bulldozer controls to. Anyone else have this problem, or got any ideas.
6. I have the dvd versions of arma2 and OA. I just d/l from sprocket the BAF exe file and the patch. Install the the patch then the BAF file! Is this correct?
7. Im trying to install the latest patch build 72787 when i click to install it i get this box "the system cannot find the specified file". Any ideas i currently have patch 72991 installed at this time.

patching issues

LOl... No worries just understood the file is not a complete beta!
9. Yeah dont bother with high spec expensive ram if you dont intend to overclock. You can get some Corsair XMS3, DDR3 at 1600mhz and is perfect for x58systems, you would be able to clock it as well and is not that expensive for 12gb. I would hold off from purchasing any SSD at the moment if it was me, the price per megabyte is not worth the upgrade till prices start to fall. Just my opinion.
10. Regarding pushing and pulling polygons in modelling The gpu wont make much difference. The gpu will give you a faster refresh rate with your screens. More ram you can get the better especially when your polygon count goes up. So go for the best cpu and as much memory as you can afford that will vastly improve any 3d package you have as to a gpu would. I'm a bit similar to you in my needs, so i have an i7system with 12gig of ram 930cpu overclocked to 3.8gig this improves my system for 3d modelling. 2 zotac 470sli with a 22" Samsung 3d monitor (SM2233RZ) and Nvidia 3d vision glasses for the gaming side of things.
11. Actually the noise of the gtx 470 is subjective regarding decibels when testing even the type of case you have can make the noise resonate. At idle you can hardly hear the fan its inaudiable compared to whats running in the rest of the case. Even when the fan is at full speed or playing arma 2 it's not that bad. I should know i have two of them, besides if you have speakers or earphones its not going to spoil anything.
12. And you felt you had to comment with some sarcastic remark because i described i had two 470s in a pc telling someone what fps i was getting on full settings. If you want a childish pissing contest they're is always your backyard to consider!
13. Quite simply the best you can afford. I had a Gts 250 1gig which ran arma2oa ok on modest settings but fps bogged down often when things got busy. I then went to a nvidia zotac 470 which gave me a big boost. Now i have two of them in SLI and i get about 53fps everything on very high apart from postprocess and terrain detail which are on high, view distance about 3500. With eveything on high i get about 57fps. Im using an i7 oc to 3.8gig.
14. I have a new x58setup with two Zotac 470's in SLI and get 60 to 61 fps in the arma2 benchmark.
15. Do you need to do this with nvidia SLI?
16. They were really bad a few years ago. Not sure if they've got their act together since. Do a search on them and you will get a better perspective.

Unidentified something

Took this video of my other hobbys. I found this strange object appear in the video. I can't tell if its coming down vertical or shooting across the sky. I shot the video at 30fps then switching to 300fps so the object must have been really fast. You can look at it 48sec in to the video and tell me what you think. By the way it appears really faint in the middle of the screen from the top at 48sec in the vid!!

I know you were joking..lol. I wish it was god i'd make a fortune on the copyright:D
19. Glad you found the problem, But i would check the voltages coming put of your PSU just in case. Just out of interest which make was the 9800GT?

It's not god and if its the other then it must be a massive big insect, besides wiki says "optical illusion created by the slower recording speed of the camera" That dont hold up because as i said its filmed in ultra high speed@300fps i can prove it by filming a butterfly in flight in slow motion with my camera. So it aint no bug.
21. It might be worthwhile investing in a psu tester especially if you system build or repair computers, it will check for any abnormal currents and they're quite cheap to. It would be wise as well to make sure you have no loose connections just push everything in and maybe reseat the cooler on the processor
22. It doesnt hurt to run chkdsk but running it eliminates possible problems.
