djmorgan replied to djmorgan's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Can somebody tell me where this config file might be? Windows 7 X64 Thanks -
I have just downloaded OA from Steam and on the first menu I get the following popup box. No Entry: bin\config.bin/cfgvehicles/USMC_soldier_pilot.scope I can't even find a bin folder! in the OA folder! Can anybody help with this message and a rectification?

I'm a little lost with the final campaigns Badlands and dogs of war (DOW). I finished Badlands with capturing all my towns and the game moved on to DOW I later read I should have killed a couple of people to help with future negotiations! but I didn't. Into DOW I am not commander and follow my orders going from town to town liberating the poor villagers I even take the Russian prisoner back and then shortly after get told to go investigate an island! by now I have 2 APC's and a Tank so off I go, I liberate the 3 bay side villages see some small water craft but I can't find a way to get to the island. I have heaps of money and when I check for gear I see momentarily the ability to get a Helicopter but then it ghosts and I can't buy it. At this point I've taken my troop all the way back to HQ but still can't buy air transport and by the time I get back to HQ everybody has left so I can't even get a dialoge going with the commander to try and get the two factions to team up. Love the game but it's giving me gray hair. Any help or pointers would be appreciated as to where I am going wrong David

Is there a way to designate where save games are to be stored? I run an SSD for my primary and try to minimise writes to this disk. :p

Just finished Manhatten and I have to say this is a fun game :D all the bugs keep you on your toes and ensure you repeat levels multiple times, the AI hates human beings and cheats better than any user could. It has been touted as the most realistic simulation but I would suggest the developers consult with some real soldiers who have seen combat such as I, because your tactics are so very wrong and scenarios could/would never happen in real conflict. Having 4 blokes swanning around with weapons and armoured vehicles in a battle field is just so wrong, and no soldier including Rambo is going to go up against multiple tanks in an APC. Still as I said a very entertaining game and looking forward to fighting the bugs through the rest of the game. PS. Don't fix the bugs they add the element of surprise to the whole thing.
