Not really a bug but a complaint. With both SUV's and even the one ported for exile (since I am guessing thats your model too) I find it more or less gutless in terms of torque. The handling feels fine now but on Chenerus in the AIA terrain pack I cant even make it up the klem hill in the forest. The vanilla pickup truck can make it just fine so there is no reason the suv cant as well. Even in Arma 2 the SUV could pretty much go anywhere. Thats what made it so great. Otherwise I really like it! -

ditto. especially when I can only download files at 50 kbs here in Iraq. Doesnt put me off though. Goes to show how good the game really is. to the poster above you should be able to run it on low/medium settings with less than 2000 view distance fine. -

AA crash error with the 1.07 patch http://rapidshare.com/files/406172511/AA_error.rar -
I know that this issue was posted in the troubleshooting and error thread for this patch by a few members but I will post it here to to see if anybody else is having this problem with the box version of the game. Here is the issue. When using any type of AA or AT missile in the game when firing on a locked on target the game immediately CTD. I dont have any type of clue as to what would cause this. I am running ACE with gameboost on a qosmio x505 q870 with a overclocked gts360m gpu and a I7 720 qm processor at 2.8 Ghz. win 7 HP the game runs perfectly otherwise. here is the link to the error file please only BIS peeps download this. Only 10 download limit. http://rapidshare.com/files/406172511/AA_error.rar Edit: I am going to see if I can find a solution to the problem. I am going to uninstall the game and patch it from 01 to 07 and see if that solves it. If it works I am going to add more and more addons to it starting with ace to see if its a PBO or BIS file error. I just find it strange that only a few people have been affected by this. Update: I just reinstalled the 107 patch from a fresh installation of armed assault 1.00 - 1.07. The game ran just as well as it did before and the AA issue has been fixed with the re installation. I am going to back up the arma2 folder and try to put ace back on along with a few other downloads and see if I still get the CTD error with the AA. Update: Figured out the problem. Remove these files and you should be good.

This. I have had the same problem. Lock with any AA missile + fireing = CTD No lock + firing = game still operational. other than that the game runs fantastic. But as said before its a game killer not being able to have AA. Running A.C.E , and gameboost System specs Toshiba qosmio X505 Q870 I7 720 qm 2.8 gz overclocked gts 360m WIN 7 HP here is the link to the error file please only BIS peeps download this. my apologies. In the beginning of the thread it gave a link to the original thread with the rules and the file size limit wasnt there. ---------- Post added at 08:48 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:42 AM ---------- You dont need a $1000 camera to take good pictures. But photoshop CS4 does help ALOT :p. Aquire CS4 and mess around with it. You can do some pretty awesome things to your pics. If I remember after I get back from Iraq I will post more pics. I dont need any more goodies. I got enough the way it is. But thanks for your hopes though ;). -

The internet just plain rubbish. Good for surfing and browsing and thats about it. practice practice practice! The best thing to do is stand by a road and take pics as cars drive by. Makes you look weird but its good practice. Google up car photography and you will find alot of good info on different kinds of shots you can take. Thank you very much. ;) People say I am wasting talent being infantry lol.I am kind of a low budget photographer :P. All pics I have taken were with a $100 point and shoot camera. This one was taken with a disposable camera. [MG]http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j276/nzander/bmw%20photoshoots/DSCN0018-1.jpg[/img]>100kb Alot of inspiration from Top Gear. I got more like this but uploading these pictures from Iraq is a pain. And yes that is my BMW. -

Ok surprisingly my copy of ARMA 2 came in today. 7 Days to get from Cali to Iraq. I tested it out on my buddies computer in which I ordered myself which is a Toshiba Qosmio X505 Q870. The specs are as follows. 1.6 Ghz I 7 720qm quad core "turbo boost" to 2.8 GHz Nvidia GTS 360m graphics card 500 GB HD 7200 RPM 4 gigs of DDR 3 Ram Running on all high or very high specs with view distance down to 1500 it was very very playable. Bits of lag here and there but otherwise smooth as silk in both heavily wooded areas and big cities during the first few missions of the campaign. That was before the patch. After 1.05 it was complete rubbish. It wasnt a very fair test though and I havent played around with it a whole lot since it was my buddies lappy. So when mine comes in I will do a further rundown on what it can and cannot do. PS: The motion blur was making me sick. -

You are running about the same specs I will be running minus I will be running a nvidia GTS 360m. What settings can you run at normally without having consistent lag? -

Well if we really want to get fancy with this we will go about it this way :) Here are the exact specs as it stands on both processors Both I7's 620QM Dual core 2.66 ghz regular 3.33 ghz "Turbo boosted" 720QM Quad core 1.6 ghz regular 2.8 ghz "turbo boosted" I have been trying to figure out how well the 720 would run for a week now but nobody seems to have a good answer or any good videos on youtube that dont involve the demo. ---------- Post added at 11:55 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:35 PM ---------- fixed. However in the "turbo boost" mode the dual has the quad beat. taken from other forums and sites. Here are the differences Cinebench R10: - Single Rendering 620M - 3346 720QM - 2952-3757 Cinebench R10: - Multiple CPU Rendering 620M - 7002 720QM - 7791-10398 Super Pi 1M 620M - 13 720QM - 15-19 Super Pi 2M 620M - 33 720QM - 35-37 Super Pi 32M 620M - 799 720QM - 839-857 3DMark 2006 CPU (1280x1024) 620M - 2994 720QM - 2934-3284 wPrime: - 32m 620M - 16 720QM - 15.26-16.58 Total ghz for apps that can take advantage of 4 cores: 620M 5.32ghz (6.12ghz dual core turbo) 720M 6.4ghz (6.92ghz quad core turbo) Total ghz for apps that an take advantage of 2 cores: 620M 5.32ghz (6.12ghz dual core turbo) 720M 3.2ghz (4.8ghz dual core turbo) Total ghz for apps that can take advantage of 1 core: 620M 2.66ghz (3.33ghz single core turbo) 720M 1.6ghz (2.80ghz single core turbo) But in all reality this is kind of like arguing whether a geo metro or fiat panda are better :D My final conclusion however is that the 620 will run this game better than the 720. -

Fixed. Seems to depend and someone help me out on this. Whether ARMA2 is a heavily threaded program-game or lightly threaded. Or in layman's terms does it like quad cores more or dual cores? From what I have read it was supposed to like the quad cores but ended up favoring the dual cores. Someone correct me if I am wrong. But from my research they both have their upsides and down sides depending on what you want them to do. Huge thread on the two here. -
