    Im looking for the Cold War Crisis Islands with Resistance Objects pack. It is listed on ofpr.info but that version doesnt add/replace any new objects? Apparently there was a later version released that fixed it. Anyone have that version? Thanks

    Nikiller, I added new dummy units for resistance, west, and east and now it works great!! I can see how this script could be really flexible and fun to use--especially in advance and capture style missions. For example, if you wanted the player to capture three towns in successive order, you could create three UPS zones and multiple spawn points per city. Then you could create a big trigger that would execute the spawn script when the player got a certain distance from the city! Muahahahah! :cool: Would you be able to add this additional script that would add inifinite respawn/more respawns? That would be sooo cool because because you could specify how many "waves" of AI groups the player would have to fight through. Thank you for your help!

    First off, thank you very much for all of your help thus far :D Now, I've got a tricky one for you... I've edited the spawned units to be WW4 units per your instructions; however, these spawned units dont seem to engage at all? Its almost as if they have setcaptive true turned on because its like they're ghosts. The spawned groups dont seem to notice/engage each other (even after walking right by one another) and regular, non-spawned units wont engage them either. Any ideas?? :confused: I've also got 3 more quick questions: 1) What does the "sld" parameter mean? 2) I dont understand what the Nik_dummy is for 3) Is this script an infinite or limited respawn system? Here is a copy of my AI init file (only file I have edited)

    I just gave your UPS spawn script a quick glance and I have a few questions... 1) Is there anyway you can change which groups/units are spawned? For example how could I spawn WW4 units/groups, etc? 2) Is there anyway you can spawn units via a unit's init line? That way I could edit the spawn parameters in-game and could move spawn points in-game-->I wanna use gamelogics as spawn points :) 3) I assume that this would'nt work with vehicles....? Thank you for making it! :D

    That would be awesome! Thanks for working on it! EDIT: I love your building position script! The days of finding out building position numbers have past! You can easily place soldiers within an entire city by using this script and increasing the AI's placement radius--its even more awesome in that its random everytime!

  19. Happy new years everyone! I must admit that I've had a lot of fun installing and playing around with Armed Assault on my laptop. However, after playing around on it for about a week, I uninstalled it from my computer because I was concerned that it might be putting too much strain on my computer. The main issue is the seemingly high operating level of the laptop's fan. It seems to run at a much higher level and kicks out hotter air when compared to any other game that I play. I know that this is what it is supposed to do but I was wondering if this would have any immediate or long term effects on my laptop? Some additional things to note... 1) My laptop is a dell inspiron...if you tell me how to pull its specs, I will do that and post them here. 2) I am not running the game at max settings and have tried to turn off things like shadows, etc. in order to boost performance. Are there any settings in particular that interfere with gameplay? 3) Lastly, if its worth anything, the Can You Run It site shows that my computer passes all of the requirements. Thank you for your help! I sure hope my laptop can run the game without any problems.

  21. Since the day that I installed Operation Flashpoint on my computer, I've looked and looked for an AC-130 Spectre addon. I suppose my intrest in this well armed beasty has been sparked by recent movies (Transformers!) and video games (Modern Warfare...) I must say that I was quite disappointed when I found out that a true AC-130 is impossible because the Operation Flashpoint engine does not support side mounted/turrent'd airplanes. However, I was wondering how hard and plausible it would be to make an AC-130 gun cam? What I am suggesting is the creation of something along the lines of a targeting computer. Since a picture is worth a thousand words, here is a video of something similar from ARMA: ARMA AC-130 Simulation This video captures the principle of what I'm trying to suggest: Instead of trying to build an AC-130 and thereby try to by-pass the game limitations, we instead let the player control a targeting computer. Let me say that I believe that it would be possible to do this because numerous other people have already created addons that are similar to this idea. For example, the addon with the most potential is this Satellite Script Addon (pictured below) This addon simulates overhead satellite coverage. The really niffty thing is that it allows for tracking of an object/human. After looking at the scripting, of which I have very limited knowledge, I think it would be possible to camcreate an explosion on the tracked object thereby simulating an AC-130 round. However, the imagery is taken from an overhead view (as would be expected from a satellite). I know this can be fixed/changed for a moving object because numerous other addons allow a player to view a camera feed from a moving object (UAV addons come to mind:)) Honestly, if I had the knowledge and skills to create something like this then I would already be working on it. I just wanted to post my ideas here and see what other people think about it. Hopefully it is possible and someone will take up the challenge (*fingers crossed*) Thanks, Blitz

  23. Sort of a necropost but I will try to give you some info.... The script has been completed by SilverRanger. It is used to simulate an AC130 Gunship. The original script fired rounds from random spots in the sky to simulate an AC 130. SilverRanger later enabled the script to create the simulation rounds from a moving plane. The end result is a pretty cool effect. Here is a link for a youtube video which shows the simulation: Note that this is all controlled by the AI and that the player (still) does not have any control over targeting, etc. Now, with that being said, I have done some digging on the forums and I think it would be really, really, really cool if someone could take what SilverRanger has done and combine it with Chop's bombing sight HUD to enable a player to have some sort of control over targeting... Here is a picture of Chop's bomb script HUD (Note that the player would still not be able to fire via mouse clicks but instead would have to use the buttons) As of right now no one is working on this "project"
