  1. Nice! Cant wait. On a side note, I shot a short 3D video of a Bomb Raid on a German airfield using Panthera and I44. I actually did this in July and never released it. If you have 3D glasses it look really cool, watch in HD: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0l7ccwyISa8
  2. Frontier has released an official teaser trailer for Elite Dangerous. All but the first scene are in game footage. Pledges are picking up but the still need help.
  3. Looks great man. Ready for some combat on the new Panthera.
  4. Hey guys, I made a promo vid for Elite Dangerous, check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1DKJLgA4mwU
  5. No problem Ice, I am sure you guys have some great things cooking with that. I am really looking forward to the New Panthera:-)
  6. I hope that surprise is what I think it is :-)

    PlanetSide 2

New Conglomerate here. Having fun with this game for sure.
  8. Whoa! I had no idea you were updating Panthera. This is great news. I have been spending too much time on Kickstarter backing games like Star Citizen, Elite Dangerous, and Limit Theory. Panthera is without question my favorite map. Cant wait to see the new details and the special surprise :-)
  9. Another Dev Diary released. This answers some questions about dynamic universe interaction.

    PlanetSide 2

This game is a blast man, although I suck at it right now. My two brothers started playing it and I logged in with them. Had some hilarious moments I will probably post to YT in a day or two. What is everyone's handle? I will look for you in game

    Sui generis. (Kickstarter)

Only 9 hours left and they are almost there! This is worth a look. Physics based combat like GTA
  12. The first pre-alpha gameplay footage of Elite Dangerous has been released and it looks excellent. They are flying through the rings of a Saturn like planet. Very cool:

Opinions on the Alpha Release Date

I hope it is soon as we all do, but I am anticipating after February so I don't get my hopes up too much. Part of me hopes the Dev team will release a burst of info after a certain incident has positive resolution. I am banking on Arma 3 to be my primary game until Star Citizen, Elite Dangerous, and Limit Theory come out in in late 2013/2014. Not that Arma 3 will take much of a back seat, it will be played for years to come just like Arma 2.
  14. Nice! Glad to see you join the ranks. I kid you not, when I first found out that this game would be moddable the first thought I had was "Icebreakr and the other Arma 2 modders would OWN this!". I nearly sent you a PM about Star Citizen early on in the campaign but I did not want to spam you with off topic stuff. Very cool to see you have backed it. ---------- Post added at 02:54 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:41 PM ---------- @STALKERGB True, they have an arrangement for 10 to 14 mil in inestment from private investors but they are not the traditional publishers that dictate what gets made and what does not. Basically these private investors are are more or less Backers with big pockets and will see some return on their investment whereas the crowd funding backer gets game benefits and physical benefits(card, music cd, signed box, etc.). A game of this scope could not have succeded without either. The great thing about that type of investor, which can be considered somewhat of a new bread of game backer, is that the funds they invest are proportional to the interest from the public via crowd funding....if the public wants it and the project makes its crowd funding goals the investment money increases. This is the opposite of the publisher that says "PC gaming is dead therfore we will not invest". This is a way to actually go to the public and say "want do you want?". The response in this case proved the traditional publisher mis judged the situation. Dont get me wrong, there is a place for the traditional publisher and I am not against them, but I am primarily a PC gamer that knows the reason PC gaming has fallen back is not because there is no interest, but because there is a lack of quality games made exclusively for the PC that are not console ports made for 7 year old technology. ---------- Post added at 02:57 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:54 PM ---------- I think those companies donated peripherals and rewards to be given out for the funding drive(the referral contest). Lets face it, they stand to gain if the PC gaming scene turns around so they want to see this happen as well.
  15. Yes, you can still go to the RSI website and pledge, but the prices are slightly higher now that the official crowd funding drive has ended. Pledges will continue and it is still very much worth it as you will get access to the Alpha and Beta as well as reserve a ship. The subscription thing is an option some pledgers asked for to continue helping with the game and is completely optional. The amount of content that was unlocked and made possible through the record braking crowd funding drive is amazing. Here is the site http://www.robertsspaceindustries.com/
  16. Totally with you on that man, congrats on the shiny new Constellation(affectionately being called the Connie in the SC community). Although I get video shots from multiple games for some of my 3D vids I only ever play and invest time in 1 or two games , and I stick with those games for a while. The two games I am looking forward to the most are Arma 3 and Star Citizen, with Star Citizen capturing my attention more than anything released in the last decade and a half for a number of reasons. One of the reasons I really like Arma 2 so much is because the community is amazing and BI encourages and gives freedom to mod, resulting in some of the coolest content by very talented individuals. Case in point your own Mi24A, PB. Star Citizen's community, even though it is so early in the game, is rapidly becoming a tight nit enjoyable bunch(expanding very rapidly). Star Citizen's community is already starting to resemble the Arma 2 crowd with stuff like this already in the works: http://www.robertsspaceindustries.com/forums/topic/custom-fighter-stribog/
  17. Wow....Introducing the RSI Constellation and its deployable P-52 fighter. It was just introduced on IGN. This is the first of many 3D ship brochures showcasing the ships in Star Citizen http://www.ign.com/images/albums/constellation-images/50a56badf4918925b219d368 ---------- Post added at 01:33 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:16 AM ---------- BTW, the guy designing the ships has a very impressive resume including work on Star Wars & Star Trek http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ryan_Church_%28concept_artist%29 http://ryanchurch.com/ Chris Roberts has brought some heavy hitters on to the Star Citizen dev/creation team. This is some serious talent working on this thing.
  18. I will be pledging for ELITE as well. I remember playing ELITE on the C64 with my dad and brother. It is one of the best space sims ever made and really was the inspiration for later sims like Wing Commander. How cool is it that two of the biggest Legends from the golden era of PC gaming are back with titles in the works. Chris Roberts with Star Citizen and now David Braben with Elite: Dangerous. This would not have happened if it was not for Crowd Funding because the publishers declared space sims dead and would not fund them....just take a look at these two Kickstarters and its evident the pulishers dont have a clue what people really want.
  19. Pledging $30 or more gives a digital copy of the game, a ship, and access to the alpha & beta in 12 months. That alone is worth pledging before the crowd funding ends....this game is going to be a PC lovers dream.
  20. Nice! 2 new videos. One showing wingman AI and a final push video for crowd funding. The pre-alpha wingman AI video is not something that would typically be shown to the public at this stage. Only the publisher gets to see stuff like that usually, but because Star Citizen is using crowd funding and bypassing the publishers, WE the gamers get to see the progress and updates instead...cool stuff: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zuynSgAvleo&feature=plcp ---------- Post added at 02:29 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:26 AM ---------- BTW the lasers are place holders, the final lasers will move faster and probably look different.
  21. I am pretty sure it was said that if they hit the initial goal of 2mil they had investors already in place. Now that they have decimated that mark new star systems and ships are being added every new stretch goal that is hit. If anyone has not been over to the RSI site to see what is happening and read the updates that have been given it is worth taking a look. This is shaping up to be something special in the world of PC Gaming. http://www.robertsspaceindustries.com/ ---------- Post added at 03:31 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:26 PM ---------- The newest update talking about Single Player and Multi Player in the same persistent universe: http://www.robertsspaceindustries.com/chris-roberts-on-multiplayer-single-player-and-instancing/ The two newest star systems Odin(#41) & Tyrol(#42): http://www.robertsspaceindustries.com/unlocked-odin-system/ http://www.robertsspaceindustries.com/unlocked-tyrol-system/
  22. Congratulations Martin. This truly is a work of art that we have been following as you have made it. Thanks for all the hard work you put into it.
  23. The new addon upgrades are now posted over at Kickstarter and will be available at the RSI on Monday...among the addons is a modding manualO_0.
  24. I agree 100%. Chris Roberts and company are telling the traditional publishers to go pound sand. This is the way to bring PC gaming back. ---------- Post added at 04:06 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:04 PM ---------- Any fan of PC gaming that is tired of dumbed down console ports made on 7 year old technology should consider backing Star Citizen. The people behind the game are responsible for some of the most legendary PC titles made(Wing Commander, Freelancer, Privateer). They know what they are doing.
