@TS I think you're fine. My rig isn't great(more or less the same with you) but in multiplayer I get high 20s(25-29) Early campaign would give 30s+ fps while later campaign would drop to low 20s fps. I'm saving to buy a new rig sometime next year.:rolleyes:

That's very interesting I see if I could get that from the banks here though I doubt it because otherwise I would have heard abt it.

Ctrl F would only change HEAT or sabot(as commander) But you can't change from sabot to HEAT or from HEAT to sabot. It's only MG or one of those.

Well I'm the kind of person who has no means to do an online transaction lol. I'm also hesitant to spend the $18.00 :rolleyes:. Credit card information stealing is rampant where I live and once the credit card is found to have been used in an online transaction it would be difficult to claim otherwise in illegal credit card transaction. Some people suspect that the some people from the bank are involved. Or the information stolen when used in an offline transaction.

Love this thread as I have exactly the same sentiment. Lack of teamwork online. many times even people don't bother to reply to my greetings. And many don't bother to reply to my voice chat. But a few tried to cooperate still. I just feel that cooperating and coordinating is a BIG part of the game and WOULD add much more enjoyment to the game. This is not counterstrike guys. As for TS3. I don't know why but I always feel reluctant trying to use this piece of software and when I did yesterday I found out my mic volume is waaay too small. The wonder is people could still reply me when I spoke through the inbuilt chat system in ArmA 2.

Make the game 2D only. So we can have fps in the hundreds :rolleyes: People are hard to be contended. Be glad the game is still receiving support and aims at the most critical aspect that needed improvement before going to miniscule trivial things.

I found several. And killed several too. They usually carry a Dragunov, M24, M40A3, TAC-50 and the likes.;)

My paging file in the game directory is now 3Gb and the game is using 2Gb as nonlocalVRAM. Haven't had a single black screen now. It helps a lot for me. To test for blackscreen just press Esc while in game and wait for the longest about 20 minutes or so. If the blackscreen didn't kick in they you're safe. But I'm not having out of memory error. As for setting nonlocalVRAM to zero, For me the game becomes smoother(increase in fps) when paging file is used(nonlocalVRAM is set to non zero) but must be lower than the size of the paging file)

First I set my paging file for the installation drive to 512Mb to 1024Mb. It was set to none before( I have 8Gb of DDR2 I needed no paging file). Then I set the nonlocalVRAM in ArmA2 cfg to 768000000(768Mb which is lower than 1024Mb of the paging file available). That's it. You need to change the cfg file to read only after setting this up. If I set the nonlocalVRAM parameter to 0 while setting the page file to none I still get a black screen. Now I'm trying to set the local VRAM to a value slightly lower than what Arma 2 set for me while setting the drive paging file to none. My GPU memory is 512Mb and the localVRAm was set to 519Mb. Now I set it to about 507Mb. I keep my fingers crossed. And about the gain in fps with the beta patch well it was a false observation. In fact FPS is reduced with the beta patch :-(. Hope they'll optimize it before releasing it out.

Hi Maverick I believe what was causing me black screen was having to do with ArmA 2 assigning too large non local VRAM. I haven't had a single black screen issue since I set it correctly. Thinking to set it to zero as well. So I think you were spot on in saying that. :-) Anyway on this beta Benchmark 1 lost 2 average fps. But I'm gaining 4-10 more fps in campaign and other missions such as village sweep.

I'm sorry but I feel that I have to make a separate thread because too few of my fellow countrymen are playing this game but I do know some must be playing this game or else I'm the only person who bought a copy of ArmA 2 from the local shop. Thank you don't be shy introduce yourself.(No rude people please) -------------------------------------------- While I'm here hi guys looking for a place to play tactically(and to train) and preferably playing with ACE2 and if not I hope you wouldn't mind training me in sniping in vanilla. I don't mind playing in any role not just sniping though I'd like to get a good grasp in sniping more than any other roles first. I'm aware that sniping is not about raking kills but most likely about recon and support and high value target elimination(machine gunner, enemy sniper, officers, weapon operators) There's a slight problem though as my active English and listening skills are not as good as my written. If you can bear with that do let me know. I'm an adult gamer if that helps to decide. Of course having a good ping which usually implies a relatively close proximity to where I live is a requirement. I'm residing in Jakarta, Indonesia and usually have good ping with Australia or any other Asian countries and to a lesser degree US west coast and Europe. The worst ping is usually with mid-east, US east coast and Russia. I'd like to avoid Singapore based server though for personal reason. No I don't hate Singaporeans.

I'd like to give a feedback that the AI seems to be running too often even when the situation has calmed down. :rolleyes: It just seems to distract from the immersion

@NoRailGunner I'll still buy OA but I hope that they port whatever improvement in OA as they could to ArmA 2. OA is afterall basically an expansion albeit being a standalone expansion.:)

I have an idea that since the GPU is the problem I tinkered with non local VRAM setting in ArmA.cfg in the documents folder. I set it lower than my actual paging file in that drive. Before it turned out that I wasn't using any paging file which may explain the blackscreen since Arma.cfg set my non local VRAM to 25Gb!!!.:rolleyes: Right click on My computer>Advanced setting>Performance tab to change paging file setting

Sometimes I get black screen in game that forced me to closed the game through task manager When ArmA 2 is closed I received the following message System specs Vista x64 Core 2 Duo 2.8Ghz (I know this is my weakest link in the game) 4x 2Gb DDR 2 800MHz 9800GTX+ 512Mb Latest Nvidia 9 series driver 197.45 Does anyone know what could have caused this? I updated my GPU driver and the problem seemed to be gone for a while then it returned and once return it happens a lot more frequent. I only get this problem with ArmA 2 and not with any other games.

For years games that come out for the PC market has been somewhat a dismay except for a very few but I've never felt so enthusiastic about a PC game than with ArmA 2. I'm planning to buy a new rig to get the most of this game. I'll continue whatever support I can by buying ArmA 2 add-ons. The mods are great, most of the community are great too and the gameplay is great too. I'm one happy customer :bounce3:. Don't come out with ArmA 3 just yet this ArmA 2 has got a lot of potential yet to be developed. I'm going to play this for a long time :D Thank you BI. I know you guys are not American because we can tell an American product by the flash yet dumb gameplay while this one shoots out of the roof to be smart and very compelling. ArmA 2 is daring and frighteningly awesome.

thanks for the information, is there any chance the reticle and ballistic gets a proper simulation through official patch. :rolleyes: Though the game has been out for quite a while and no patch ever touched them.
