IDEA: Mercenary life emulation
TovarishMimino replied to taro8's topic in ARMA 2 & OA : MISSIONS - Editing & Scripting
Wow.... I love the general idea. The details and all that are extra and can be worked out, but overall this sounds pretty awesome, especially if you can include pvp in there somehow. Never played Merc 2 but I played Farcry 2, and it was pretty fun. -
bad serial number given in setup
TovarishMimino replied to t3mp's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
got mine of SP Rocket, always worked fine expect one day I got that error, wtf? -
Why is this game not more popular?
TovarishMimino replied to LockDOwn's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Not sure if this was mentioned, but maybe there should be lots of promos with free DLs handed out in order to increase the player base and spread the word via mouth. I definitely think that more players playing more different kinds of maps and modes would greatly increase the online quality of the game. -
No more online multiplayer ?

Thanks for the links... I almost got a heart attack lol -

uhmmmm......... I just came back from a two week vacation, and I got the same message, wtf? Was there a new patch that switched from Gamespy hosting to another one or something? -
Tried Demo - buggy, game worth it?
TovarishMimino replied to sincraft's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
If you can afford it, spend 10$ and get both. I know I did even after having Arma 2 already. It was just too good of a deal. I gave my original Arma 2 to my friend to try out. Hopefully he likes it and gets OA too. ---------- Post added at 03:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:17 PM ---------- Well it could be a bug, but you need to keep in mind the distance, stealth, health, weapon range, and whether or not you were just sprinting for a mile. Arma2 is very different in the regard that the shooting is very realistic. It's not so much point and shoot as suppress and flank. There hasn't been a single game out there that leaves me dry on ammo like Arma does. I can often unload whole clips over long distances not killing a single thing, but doing a lot of damage to the enemy by buying time for my bots to run ahead or flank them. And I love it... except when ur down to the last bullet and have to use a pistol at 600m >.< You could also do the same vise versa, orders ur AI to suppress fire and run ahead yourself, but I like to play it safe :-p EDIT: Actually there was another game, Brothers in Arms... that was a damn good game, but unfortunately only good for SP campaign -
OA Controls, Crouch/Prone Toggle

Don't think so... I think the only stance you have the ability to hold instead of switch to is Lean. -

That method works fine. -
Tried Demo - buggy, game worth it?
TovarishMimino replied to sincraft's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Well to be honest when I played the Demo before buying Arma2 (which was about 4-5 months ago) I was so blown away by the whole concept and the gameplay that I really ignored the bugs and shortcomings. From my experience the demo was a lot more buggy than the full version, but nevertheless there are times when you will encounter them. If you really like the game, and are the kind of person that can overlook things I'd defintely say get it. If you get easily pissed of and frustrated when something that is suppose to work a certain way and it simply doesn't and you want to break your computer because of it, then save your computer. But I'm just a noob... so yeah. -
Okay let's hear it does Arrowhead run better than ArmA 2 or worse?
TovarishMimino replied to Michael Withstand's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Haven't put in too many hours, but right of the start gonna tell you much smoother on much higher settings than I had on Arma 2 -
OA Controls, Crouch/Prone Toggle
TovarishMimino replied to TovarishMimino's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Theres a 3*x functionality? Wow, nice to know. Although I wouldn't use this system as I like the toggle better. I was wondering if theres a guide to all those crazy keybindings. I tried searching the forums but couldn't find anything relative. Stuff like Evasive Forward, and Bulldozer??? If anyone knows any posts or sites describing them in detail I would greatly appreciate a link. My step over is Space*2 Muahahaaha. P.S. ARROWHEAD IS SICK!!! So far I love it, and much better experience than my first time with Arma 2. Good Job BI! -
OA Controls, Crouch/Prone Toggle
TovarishMimino replied to TovarishMimino's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Well I guess there is no way to bind a button to alternate mouse wheel up/down, which would've been perfect. I'll use TAB+E/D for zoom. Thanks for the suggestions and answers. -
OA Controls, Crouch/Prone Toggle
TovarishMimino replied to TovarishMimino's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
As I am starting to realize, my usual binding habits are really horrible for Arma. Most of them I carried over from Americas Army and other FPS. My Left CTRL is crouch, my Left ALT and Windows buttons and Lean Right/Left, and my Shift is Temp Walk/Run. That leaves me with no keys that I can use for alternates like you mentioned :( Although.. I think I noticed that you can use any key for that role.. like say V+E, and V+D as long as V is not taken? Am I right? Gonna check it out. -
OA Controls, Crouch/Prone Toggle
TovarishMimino replied to TovarishMimino's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Yes you can, I just tested. You can go from any position into the other two using those two bindings. Awesome! And I was getting upset. Now I just need to figure out what to bind the Zero In/Out to.... hmmmm -
OA Controls, Crouch/Prone Toggle
TovarishMimino replied to TovarishMimino's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Well... I feel stupid :) I think in Arma2 they had those controls named "Toggle Crouch" and "Toggle Prone" and when I didn't see those I panicked. In any way, thank you very much Greez, much appreciated. ---------- Post added at 07:30 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:28 AM ---------- What he linked is the same thing. Basically the "Up" key is apparently a toggle for crouch. Go figure :-p
