Belgian Army [Armaverse anno 2035]
arokfridr replied to arokfridr's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Thats unfortunate. I had not noticed yet that each magazine pouche looked like a clone. I had just slapped over the camo to get a 'looksy-feelsy' of the look. That's indeed a very good reason for reconsideration. I am glad that you noticed I broke up the camo in the appropriate spots. I'm very nitpicky about those things (and also about the seams and stitches etc...) -
Hello everyone! I’ve recently started working on some new units for Arma 3. I have opted to recreate the Belgian military (partially) within this game AND universe. In other words these units will fit into the fictional Arma-verse anno 2035 while still being grounded in reality. Choosing to do it within the Arma-verse has given me some more artistic liberties. Which is why I have created a new camouflage for the Belgian troops. The camouflage is a bit of a mixture. The pattern is the current jigsaw but using colours inspired by the older ‘Belgian brushstroke’ camouflage. The different areas of the camouflage have subtle gradients from light to dark and have been spattered to give a pixilated look. The pixelated look gives it a very plausible modern look and the ‘new’ colours make it useful in a large number of different terrains. This makes this camouflage within the Arma-verse the Belgian militaries multiterrain camouflage. As a base model I have chosen the FAA soldier models to work with. Unfortunately I have no modeling skills so am bound to only being able to retexture what is currently available within the game. This addon will feature ‘Regular’ infantry Para-Commando infantry Special Forces Group Below you can find some screenshots of the current progress:

*Note: The bodyarmor vest is far from finished atm of the screenshots it’s simply a texture overlay of the camo. Made using Saul’s texture templates. PS: At first I was planning to use the F2000 (mk20) for all the troops in different configurations. However recently the government approved the purchase of a new multifunctional rifle. The Divers of the Engineer battalions and SFG divers had recently already purchased the 7.62 SCAR rifle. On certain Belgian military forums it has been revealed that there will be a total order of 22.000 FN SCAR rifles in 5.56 and 7.62 configurations (including the SSR model). Unfortunately there is no SCAR in the game so if there is anyone out there who can help me with this or is already planning on doing a SCAR weapon pack please let me know.

http://world.guns.ru/sniper/sniper-rifles/usa/fn-scar-ssr-mk20-mod0-e.html This would be a nice addition too imo. :) -
But wouldn't you need to re-zero your rifle or am I outdated? :p

Feedback to E3 Interview and Ingame Scenes
arokfridr replied to krazikilla's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Awesome presentation! It looked amazing. If the BLUFOR we play would be like a international NATO Task Force (similar to EuroCorps Franco-German Brigade) I would be soo happy as that for me would serve as sufficient explenation for the different vehicles. It would make the US SF with F2000's and the Fennek vehicle seem allot more plausible to me. This presentation has made me allot more excited about this game! -
Lol at all this ganging up on someone who is concerned with authenticity... It's like a sci-fi mob. But like has been said it appears to be a Merkava so it's all good :)

I too enjoyed Vietcong's cover system!

Am I the only one who disliked the futuristic approach?
arokfridr replied to ray243's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
I do not like the futuristic setting very much, I just hope they keep it plausible and use likely weapon systems. No F2000, atleast not for US troops. I strongely doubt that that the SCAR would be gone by 2020. -
I wonder why they are using F2000's instead of SCAR's. Looks amazing tho, can't wait!

Just an attentive forum member that's all. I used to have different account on here but had it closed because it had a rather childish/l33tish, and ever more difficult to pronounce name, than this one.

Can't believe I was actually right

Stone, man and wheat could also be a reference to a miller or the name "Miller".
